November 26, 2011 Western Carribean

We just booked this cruise a few weeks ago. This will be our first cruise. I'm so excited. We would love to join in on the FE. There are 4 of us, DH, DD - 2 and DS - 1!

Congratulations and welcome!

You are in for the FE! When you get a room number, please forward it to me, so that I may add it to our list.

Thank!

Tammy

We finally got our room # . It is 6000 and My name is Mary, 59,:wave2: and my DH is Bob, 60,pirate:..... AKA Nana & Papa

Hi, Mary and Bob! It's nice to see a couple close to our age. I'm 59, and Jim will be 62 in January. This cruise and our next one are his birthday celebration!

I can't wait for this vacation. It will be so nice to get away for a while!

Wow' I'm so excited for this cruise. I booked our transportation to the Port. We are surprising our kiddos with a limo (their first time ever).

Hello!

Our details for FE Jenny (me), Ed (DH), Emma (10), Molly (7), Sadie (20 months).
Two rooms- 7005 & 7007

Also, lots of talk of Nochi Cochum (sp?)...we all booked it too so we'll see everyone there. Heard great things about it and read amazing reviews so can't wait to check it out!

Cannot believe that we are in the "next month" stage! :cool1:

Thank you everyone for updating room numbers!

We now have 17 cabins participating! If there are any new cruisers lurking about, you still have time to join! I will be cutting off sign up on November 4, 2011.

I am so excited that in six short weeks we will all be floating along in the Caribbean!

Also, there are many ways to distribute your FE, so I am wondering what others prefer. I have done one FE where we were assigned a day to distribute gifts. For example, with 17 DISer's participating, we would have 2 or 3 people distributing gifts each day. Another way is to let everyone distribute whenever they want. I am sure there are other suggestions!

I prefer the assigned day as it spreads the fun throughout the cruise!

What are everyone else's preferences?

I think I actually prefer a whenever you want to distribute way so that those who are giving "gifts" that are to use on the sailing can give them right at the beginning. Or if we do scheduled ones see who wants to give theirs right at the beginning. me mee me pick me :yay:

Tammy:
Sorry, but I gave the wrong cabin number.
Our correct cabin number is 8558.

Either way is fine with me - everyone delivering whenever or having an assigned time. Although I was going to deliver a little something on more than one day.

I saw a blip in the Washington Post's travel section on cruise deals and it stated that DCL is offering verandah staterooms on our cruise and the Eastern on 12/3 for $999 per person, double occupancy. I know we are past our paid in full date and then some so we won't be seeing any $ back, but had we booked today instead of 2 years ago with the 10% off and OBC, we'd have saved almost $1,000 on our room. My MIL and BILs would have saved the same, if not a little more.

Since this is our First cruise either way is fine but I do like the idea of having assigned days to spread it out.

Thank you for organizing the FE! I ,too, am glad to have others our age! Can't wait to actually meet & greet! I do not have a preference on when to give out gifts- just excited to be giving them! I LOVE cruising w/my Family! We usually dress for Pirate night and have also had a lot of fun! Looking forward to other themes..:yay:

I know, they started offering this deal on their website the day after our paid in full date. I tried to upgrade to the verahdah from our cat 9 but was told the deal was only for new bookings and that I would have to cancel with fees and rebook. If you were moving a dummy booking to a new date then it isn't technically a "new booking" so I think you would have lost out on the 10% and OBC. Anyway I think it stinks but the savings would have not been as big as you are thinking since you would have lost any onboard booking perks you had.

I looked up the price on dcl.com yesterday and had we booked yesterday, it would have been $2764 for me, dh and our ds10 for a "verandah with restrictions" without insurance. It would be $3520 for a stateroom with a verandah, no restrictions. Our ds 14 is in my MIL room since it was cheaper to book that way. We booked 12/10/2009 and paid almost $3900. Granted, we will get an OBC and got 10% off, but we'd still have saved $ booking now instead of nearly 2 years ago. We thought our cruise would be booked full sailing right after Thanksgiving. I think this is the only cruise we've sailed on in 14 DCL cruises where the price has gone down and not up. I think it's just luck of the draw with DCL cruise deals and this time we are on the short end of the stick. I think I'll be keeping a closer eye on last minute DCL deals and hope to luck out and squeeze in another DCL cruise before our next booked Dream cruise in 8/2012.

Start watching your mailboxes! Cruise docs are on the way . Ours were here when I got home!

I don't care how/when we do the FE. We've done it both ways. If we do "assign" we could just let everyone pick when they want and those of us that it doesn't really matter for (like if it's not to be used on the trip), can just fill in the blank spots. That way it's organized, but everyone's delivering when they want. Still cannot believe that we are so close! I have to start packing :rotfl2:

Hello,

First time on a Disney cruise for my family. The FE looks like fun - we'd like to participate. In my cabin is myself and DD Larisa (4). We are in cabin 2577.

My DH and mother are booked into another cabin but they aren't going to participate this time around.

Thanks for organizing this!

Cheers,

Leslie
