Who else is going? I just paid our deposit today!:cool1: This will be our first cruise, and we are all so excited. It will be me, dh, and our 2 ds's (4 and 9 at cruise time)
I can't wait to hear from others that will be with us, especially those that have cruised before. I can plan anyone's WDW vacation with confidence, but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to planning a cruise! LOL

I will be on this cruise too. What a better way for Turkey day then have someone else cook?

Looking forward to the cruise, I will be doing 3 land/ 4 sea. SO I will be so worn out form 3 days at Disney World.

Zanna, DH, DS (7), DD (5)

btw this will be our second cruise, loved the first one last year we had to go again....

Yeah! Another person on our cruise! We will also be at WDW before the cruise. We'll be at BWV for 5 nights before heading over to the ship. We've been to WDW many times, but we know nothing about cruising. I've been picking up lots of good info. on this board, though.
Oh, BTW, I'm Dana (I think it rhymes with your name!) and I'll be with dh, Ward, ds Logan (9 at cruise) and ds Braden (4 at cruise)
I can't wait to "meet" more people who will be cruising with us!

LOL- well it guess so far it might just be us on this cruise ship.
I think I could handle it just us and not have to share nor wait in line (wishful thinking)

I could live with that! Hmmm, maybe we WILL be the only ones and we'll both get upgraded to Cat. 1! LOL

Is anyone else going on this one? I was sure there would be more responses by now! LOL

The Brunswick family (speakupjc) are going. We have a dear daughter who will be 5. This will be our fourth cruise. We are going on a cruise (7 night) in April. During Thanksgiving we will be doing a land and sea. We are going to stay at the AKL starting on Sunday and then depart for the cruise on Wednesday.

Welcome! Well, at least we know there will be 3 families on the ship! We are also doing land and sea (booked seperately) We'll be at BWV from Nov. 21 until the morning of the 26th. We are so excited to be taking our first cruise!
Have you done a 4 night cruise before? If so, did you get off the ship in Nassau? I am kind of torn here. I'm not really crazy about Nassau, and I'm also worried that we won't really have enough time to enjoy the ship on such a short cruise. I think I would prefer to just stay onboard, but dh thinks we should do some kind of excursion!

Nassau wasn't that great. The last time we went to Nassau we basically got off and walked around to shop a little. We enjoyed staying on the ship more than taking an excurson. Has anyone found decent airfare yet? If so on what airline or booking agent website. Thanks!

I am hoping to use our miles for this vacation. I guess that is something I need to do here ASAP. I wonder how well detla is to work with sky miles?? Guess I will find out.

We don't fly (although, I wish we did!) It's just about a 9-10 hour drive for us. I am always checking Southwest's fares, just in case. They seem to be the least expensive, and a nonstop flight for us. I have a hard time justifying the airfare expense because even with the price of gas, it's still cheaper for us to drive.

Hi Wonder Turkey Day people. I'm actually sailing on the Magic on 11/22 and just heard something interesting... according to portime.com the Magic and Wonder will be at Castaway Cay on the same day (11/28). I called DCL and a CM told me that it is NOT true, the Wonder will be at sea that day. Can someone on your cruise confirm your itinerary? As much as I'd like to meet you all, CC is not big enough for both of us.

Portime.com shows:
Wed - Port Canaveral
Thur - Nassau
Fri - Castaway Cay
Sat - At Sea
Sun - Port Canaveral

Greetings.

We have sailed on two Thanksgiving Wonder cruises. Normally, the four day Wonder cruise starts on Sunday and has an itinerary similar to what you show. But during Thanksgiving week, the Wonder swaps the three and four day cruise, so the four day leaves on Wednesday. The itinerary is Port Canaveral, Nassau, Day at sea, Castaway Cay, Port Canaveral.

For the day at sea, the captain just goes where ever there is nice weather. On our first cruise, the captain buzzed Castaway Cay. We were having lunch in Palo and noticed the island looked familiar. Everyone went outside to watch. Then they started a dualing horn contest. It really was special.

We then went back out to sea, and returned to Castaway Cay the next day for our day on the island.

By the way, we are currently booked on this year's cruise as well. We are debating if it is what we want to do, or if we want to try something different.

Argh. i am having stress in looking for flights to and from orlando. *YIKES* guess I should have gotten our return flight earlier, because there are not flight out late on Sunday. (lol another day in orlando)

Just wondering how everyone else is doing in getting travel plans.

i will be there with my daughter on this cruise. then seven days after the cruise at disney. it looks like this is going to be a full cruise. there is only a few different choices available to pick. pirate:

We're going on the Thanksgiving cruise this year. We went last year with a group of 14 and rebooked while onboard for this year - just our family of 5.

Thankfully we used miles to book our airfare or else we might have to cancel. It's at least 50% higher than it was at this time last year!

Who else is going??

Is it true? Is the Wonder going to be in Castaway Cay on November 28th? So will the Magic! It's a party in the making!:cool1:

Hi Everyone-
Just thought I'd say Hi! We're also going on this cruise. It will be me, DH, DD5, DD7, my parents, my sister and BIL. This will be our 5th time on DCL, but our first Thanksgiving cruise.

This is our 2nd 4-night cruise, but given the switch of the day at sea and Castaway Cay, I have a couple itinerary questions that I'm hoping one of you can help with.

On our last 4-night, the 2nd night (Nassau) was dress-up night. Since this cruise will also be at Nassau that day and since its Thanksgiving, I'm assuming this will also be dress-up night as well. Is that what everyone else is thinking?

Also, since the 3rd day will be a Day at Sea instead of the normal Castaway Cay day, do you think that will still be Pirate night or do you think Pirate night will be moved back to Castaway Cay day?

Thanks
Leslie
