Thanks for the 5K map. Looks to me like it's really a 2.5K with an out and back to make it 5K. That creates several opportunities for folks with babies, strollers or those of us who are just slow to shorten the route if needed by walking out than taking the tram back, or walking the full route out and skipping the observation tower loop on the way back. We rode bikes out to the observation tower on our last cruise. Kind of nice and away from the crowds.

I sent an email to DCL regarding the use of strollers during the CC 5K...I'll let you know once I hear back from them.

Where can we get more information about the 5k? I'd like to know the route, start time, is there a fee and sign up/registration?

Everything I have found online says you sign up for the 5K after you are on board.. One person even said they signed up early the morning of the event.. It was also recommended that after the run you go back on board the ship to change clothes for the beach (and maybe take a trip down the pool slides since the people on the ship will be going ashore at that time). It also says that you have to be ages 10+ to participate.. My son is 8 and was bummed that he can't run and get a medal.

Does anyone know about Shutters? Are the photographs expensive? I saw one option to create a photo book while on board.. Has anyone done this and liked it? I also read that they will take pictures of your family with your own camera.. I have a Canon Rebel.. Would you recommend that I bring it with us? Thanks for the info.

If anyone would like to join the FE let me know, I try to check here daily I'm thinking that the FE as a group of 10 will be done once we fill up group 3 and we will then move to the pixie dust list. The FE has gotten very inactive and now with less than 2 months to go, I just don't see it picking up.

I wonder how soon after the start of the "race" they open the course for folks that want to push strollers or just casually walk. I'd be interested in the walk but don't want to get in the way of folks that are actually racing.

I'm not sure. The racers are usually allowed off the ship before everyone else.

If I bring something for autographs (pillow case, book, photo mat), can I drop it off at Guest Services and retrieve it before we disembark or do we have to get each characters autographs at the meet and greets?

You can bring your own, I would. If you preorder photos you can cancel and get a refund but I am not sure the timeline on that. Maybe by the last night you can cancel if you don't have enough or don't like the pictures

DCL did away with this last year so you now have to get the autographs from the characters yourself.

I'd just bring your own. The character attendant will use your camera to take a picture.

I think the cost runs about $10-20 a photo, but I could be wrong--we haven't purchased a photo in a few years.

Sure thing! I guess I'll just grab a wagon as soon as I get off the ship at CC and go enjoy Spring a Leak and the family beach with my daughter while daddy is fishing.

I AM SO EXCITED! i live by the Navigator app Countdown! My 17 year old daughters, my mother and i will be sailing with Disney for the first time. Hoping for the vacation of a lifetime before my daughters head off to college next year. My daughters and i have only cruised once before with another line and were caught in a hurricane and not only was is frightening but we were basically stuck indoors the entire trip so pressing the Do Over Button with Disney seemed like the only way to cruise again For those who have cruised with Disney before any Secrets, Tips or Tricks we should know?

Welcome to the cruise. I know you'll have a great time. for Secrets, Tips, Etc. read the posts on the Disney Cruise Line Forum - but with a grain of salt. Great information but they're folk's opinion and those vary. For example, some folks wouldn't dream of cruising without a verandah and some of us just want to be on the ship and happily choose an inside cabin. Hopefully we won't have to deal with yucky weather at the end of November.

Vacuum cleaner conundrum solved....just went out and purchased a new one, which was thankfully on sale! Now onto working on FE gifts while the tiny human is napping! Anyone else been keeping an eye on the Wonder dry dock via the thread? I can't wait to see all of the new shimmering and shiny stuff!
