November 25th, 2016 - Black Friday on the Wonder

The worst trivia was TV show theme songs. It just told me I never watched enough TV. I keep going in the hopes that I may actually know over half of the answers, and then I am proven wrong:sad2: Oh well, can't beat the time we won the best name on our potato race car on the cruise. Sucked at the actual race car but at least we gave it a good name:lmao:

TV Tunes trivia is a killer!! I always think I'll do okay, and then I too am proven wrong too! We'll have to meet up for some trivia. We've never done the potato car race (Mickey 200 or something like that I believe). We'll have to do all of the kid friendly activities this cruise. I guess my days of sitting on deck 7 aft (or deck 4) and reading the whole cruise are over.

I'll be at the trivia, sitting in a corner shaking my head at my stupidity. Don't knock the kids activities, some of them are fun and your daughter will keep you involved. Best thing about cruising with kids. One of the things I am looking forward to the most on the PC cruise is the adult activities in the kids clubs. I so want to make flubber! Doesn't DCL know that the adults are like Peter Pan and we're not growing up? I say let the kids have the ship and we get the clubs::yes::

I can't wait to participate in whatever adult activities are available to me in the kids clubs! I'm foreseeing a few open houses spent in the clubs... I'm game for letting them take over the ship and us take over the clubs.

@hamm1207, hopefully you got everything you wanted booked today. Did you stay up and login or wait until you got up for the day? So glad shoreside did all this for us, now I just have to wait for the email confirmation to come later today.

Just finished checking in and booking excursions/nursery time. I just waited until I got up this morning. I was able to book all of the excursions and what not that we wanted. There are still quite a few cabanas available--I'm surprised. So far, only one of the Disney Junior character breakfasts are sold out. We opted not to do this, as our daughter doesn't watch tv, so she doesn't know any of the characters. I signed up for the princess gathering on her birthday--hoping for a little pixie dust... For our Nassau excursion (it's 11-2), I booked the nursery for 10:30-3, just to make sure we had enough time to get back and pick her up...I'm a little nervous about the length of time, but I think she'll be okay.

I think the cabanas aren't selling as well now that they added tax and it's like $600 at the family beach. We do the character breakfast though cause Mickey is there- gotta love the mouse::MickeyMo You should be ok on time in Nassau and I am sure she will be in the nursery before then so you can tell if she loves/hates it. I'm just glad we finally got to book something as it makes the cruise seem much closer.

We'll be sure to check out the nursery on embarkation day and spend some time there if they have open house. I'm thinking about doing a date night before the cruise, so she's with a baby sitter for a few hours--to see how she does.

As a first timer, I can't book anything until 9/11. Is there any way to find out exactly what is available to book before then so I can do some planning? If I click on "My Cruise Activities" on the Disney cruise site, it just takes me back to my reservation. It'd be nice if they let you look but not book until your window opens up.

If you're interested in something in particular, you can send me a PM with the activities and the date you'd like me to look and I can look for you

Unfortunately you will be in the last round to book anything, but unless it is really popular like maybe swimming with the dolphins it should be available in September. The only things that may not have any great times left would be the character breakfast and ticketed meet and greets. Palo may be booked up but you can always check onboard for that. Just remind @hamm1207 or I that week and one of us can also look to see what is still available and let you know.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone ha a great weekend.

Topic of the day/week: do you pack anything for entertainment...do you pack books to read, an e-reader, deck of cards?

I always pack my kindle after downloading a lot of free books from Amazon. I think that is the only "entertainment" I pack since I usually can find something to do on the ship. I'm lucky if I actually read a couple of books on a cruise I'm so busy doing other stuff! So much to do in so little time.

Free books from Amazon? Is this a prime thing? We just got prime and I'm still not sure what all it entails...

We like to read too. We usually end up packing 3 books each. Sometimes we get them read, but not always. We love the trivia and tours and what not. As you said, there's so much to do and so little time. We also usually end up watching movies in the stateroom--which is especially nice on the dream and fantasy with the on demand movies that you can pause and come back to later. I wish they had the room for all of the wiring to do that on the Magic and wonder.

I'm not sure what Prime gets you, but the free books are I think in every category. You have the option of the top 100 books to buy or free. I always scroll through the top 100 free in different categories cause you just never know what will be good.
I agree with the movies, sometimes you just can't beat sitting in your room and watching a movie.

I'm a big kindle fan on the cruises. Perfect for laying out by the adult pool reading.

I've got too much going on between homeschool, camps, my blog, and the rest of the interwebs.
My daughter broke her foot at the end of June, so we're planning a last minute surprise trip at the end of August to WDW to celebrate her getting her boot off. (And completing her first two weeks of rehab. I wouldn't want her straight out of a boot at WDW.)

It's been a long summer.

:sad1: Poor kid! Although a surprise trip to WDW isn't a bad outcome. Heck, when I broke my leg nobody took me to WDW after rehab, I took myself to Vegas though:laughing:

Looks like Frozen will be the new musical on the ship. I'm assuming it'll replace Toy Story. If I recall correctly, Golden Mickeys was recently updated... Those two changes will be nice.
