I'm glad to hear your good thoughts about the Wonder. I love that you are taking your little one on the cruise at such a young age, too. The memories will be priceless. We have a 3.5 year old son and this will be his first cruise. He's excited about it. He loves going to Disneyland. The kids club sounds fun and I'm hoping he'll like hanging out there. Did you ever stay in a room that had a port hole? Our cabin is an Ocean View, so I assume it means there is a port hole. I did not know about the dry dock until 2 days ago. It'll be cool that you can compare the ship before and after.

We've stayed in pretty much every type of room (except the royal suites) and they're all nice. The ocean view room will either have one large port hole or two small ones. Its fun to sit there and just watch the world go by--just be cautious and make sure you close the curtains while in port and changing clothes...

I've seen the pictures of the rooms with one large port hole and it looked like you could sit in it, I'd love to have that in our room. Good advise on closing the curtains, thanks for that tip!

First time Disney cruiser here. I was wondering what "Very MerryTime Cruise" means? Is it just the ship decorated all Christmas-y or will there be Christmas activities onboard? Has anyone experienced a Very MerryTime Cruise?

Our last cruise was during Halloween time. We dressed up for Pirates and Halloween. Is anyone doing Christmas T's or Christmas themed clothing? When would be a good day to do that? Are the characters dressed for Christmas most of the cruise or only certain days?

I was wondering the same because I read on the DCL website that this cruise is a Very MerryTime Cruise. It'll be our first time on a Disney cruise.

We did one last year and the ship gets decked out for the holidays. It's like any other holiday themed cruise - they do a story by the tree, you can meet Santa and build gingerbread houses. I love the gingerbread house they build by Guest Relations, it smells good enough to eat

I believe it says it in the navigator (schedule) for the day. Or... When you get on the ship go to guest services and ask if there are any activities you can sign up for. Now that I think about it, you might be able to sign up online when you book your excursions. I think I remember reading something about booking activities online now, but I'm not sure.

We've never been to Galveston. Any recommendations on hotels to stay at pre-cruise?

I live in galveston and they say the galvez is good but a lot of people also like the san luis hotel

What are character greetings and what comes along with booking that?

Character greetings are when you meet a character, get a photo with them and their autograph (if you'd like)--just like at the park. I'm guessing the booking options will be to select a time for the super popular ones like the princess gathering (when all of the princesses are there at the same time). I'll be able to let you know more after the 28th.

Yep, I got that email also. I can't wait for next week - this cruise feels like it is taking forever to get here! Maybe being able to book something will make it seem closer than it really is.

Page 21, post #418 gives my "rules" for the FE. Group 2 is still open for 2 more rooms or if you have more than that I can start a group 3 with your group. Once you get to 10 posts I can pm you for your info as we are keeping most of it private. Feel free to post here or http://www.disboards.com/forums/test-board.88/ to get your count up.
