I would think DCL would charge each room? I know that is how they do it for mixology. I am not sure everyone would want to pay in case they don't show up. I would keep it easy and just pick an area where there shouldn't be anything going on (Promenade Lounge for example) and a time and just do an open meet. People can bring their own snacks/drinks if they want. Just post everywhere that we are doing a meet on Saturday morning at 9 am in the Promenade Lounge for example. This would also solve the issue of giving names/rooms to Disney and requires less organization on your part. Now, if you want to plan a private mixology that is another story. Then you would need names/room numbers to give to DCL and you are charged whether you show or not I think.

I will take your advice on just going to a non private room for meet and greet. as for the mixology, i would like to set one up, but not before i find out if everyone is interested. so, how do i go about contacting them in group one? pm each one?

You can pm them and do a post here as not everyone who checks here is doing the FE so they are not up to 10 posts. For all interested you would need real names and their room # to give to DCL.

I'm a longtime cruise fan and after getting burned out coordinating FEs and groups I took a break from the DISboards...but not cruising! Since I last joined a meets group, we've done an extended family cruise with all the inlaws, cousins and so forth and a girls weekend (okay, week) cruise where my BFF and I left the kids with the husbands and I finally cruised on the only ship I hadn't visited yet, the Dream. My inlaws also happen to be going on the Liberty of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) in a month, so I'll be more than happy to return to my first ship, the Wonder when this cruise rolls around in November.

So I finally got around to hunting up the meets group for this, my 9th DCL cruise.
I'll be cruising with my DD 7 and my DS 10 at cruise.

Does anyone have experience doing B2B cruises out of Galveston? I'm having a hard time figuring out how that goes or if there are any significant differences from doing a B2B in Port Canaveral.

No new info - I am just moving it to a new page for the newcomers who don't feel like reading the whole thread.
Hopefully, all the info to follow will help answer some questions and not scare anyone away from joining the DISboards only FE group.

For those that are interested in joining the FE, here are my rules and guidelines. The last group will be closed one month before the cruise and I will then start a latecomer’s group or a pixie dust group. Each group will stop at max of 10 cabins. If someone drops before the cruise, I will not replace them in a group. If the group had hit 10, it will stay closed.

Real names are not required – it is DW(Darling Wife), DH(Darling Husband), DD(Darling Daughter) and DS(Darling Son). For anyone who wants to make personalized gifts, let me know and I will see what I can do about getting real names.

Info required to join the FE is room #, who is in the room, ages of any kids and an email to send the final list to. Optional info is any allergies and favorite characters. The only person that will have your email is me and I will delete it from my contacts once we are back from the cruise. I will not share your email address unless you request it. I will send an email to all participants in each group as it closes. I will put directions in the email, but please look at the FE info and make sure it is correct. I will have everyone email me back to assure me they have received their email and everything is correct. After that, the only email you will get from me is if there are any changes in your FE group.

There is no spending limit(spend what you are comfortable with). Gifts can be per person or per cabin, your choice. There is no set day to deliver, just have everything delivered before Thursday(Dec. 1st) night.

I will let everyone know of any room changes up to 48 hrs. before the cruise, then I will be traveling to Texas and have limited access to the internet. After that you will either have to go door to door and drop off a note of any changes or I will have a whiteboard at my room to write any messages. Be aware that since I am not going to be in every FE group, most people will have no reason to check the board at my room.

Closer to the cruise we can maybe plan an onboard meet up on day 1 for anyone interested. If anyone is interested in being in charge of starting groups for mixology classes, an ornament exchange, a postcard exchange, a recipe exchange etc… feel free as I am only doing the FE.

As always, I will try to check this thread daily so feel free to ask any questions.

I think they might as it is a money maker and they move the Wonder to San Juan for a couple months also. But with DCL
