Hello Everyone in group one!!!! Can't wait for the mystery cabin to come on board.
I have contacted Disney about a meet and greet for our group.

We can all get together on Sat morning,(day at sea) for apx 1 hr maybe 9am? Private group and room
Morning Coffee Break $ 7.25pp
(per person / per hour ~ 25 guest minimum)
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, Assorted International Teas, Assorted Fresh Juices, Assorted Danishes, Muffins and Breads
OR Pick an area on the ship, and bring your own drink, and biscuit
And/or a
MIXOLOGY / TASTING GROUP
Mixology/tasting: I feel these would more be favorable than say Beer or Cognac or Whiskey.
Mixology: $20.00pp - min 20/max 40
Mojito: $20.00pp - min 20/max 40
Tequila / Margarita: $20.00pp - min 20/max 40
Champagne: $35.00pp – min 20/max 30

Please let me know your thoughts.

I will say if we want to meet any day other than boarding day, we would need Disney to hold a room as they know what would be going on in all locations. Generally the meets are on embarkation day, which I think would be to rushed to really "meet" people. I have missed all the meets as I am so busy I lose track of time between getting luggage, unpacking, muster drill etc. A private mixology would also be easy to set up as you only need names and room numbers to give to DCL. The other thing I have seen is an ice cream social meet where everybody meets at the ice cream and brings a different topping to share. If you want to be in charge of the meet, have at it The FE is keeping me busy enough, I am not organizing any more groups

I would think DCL would charge each room? I know that is how they do it for mixology. I am not sure everyone would want to pay in case they don't show up. I would keep it easy and just pick an area where there shouldn't be anything going on (Promenade Lounge for example) and a time and just do an open meet. People can bring their own snacks/drinks if they want. Just post everywhere that we are doing a meet on Saturday morning at 9 am in the Promenade Lounge for example. This would also solve the issue of giving names/rooms to Disney and requires less organization on your part. Now, if you want to plan a private mixology that is another story. Then you would need names/room numbers to give to DCL and you are charged whether you show or not I think.

I would say the DISboards are awesome for finding info, especially for newbies.
The fish extender is exactly as it sounds. Depending on the side of the ship you are on, you have a fish(or something else) on the wall by your door. Disney uses it to deliver mail, we hang an extender on it and people drop off gifts if you have signed up for an FE. The DISboards only FE are groups of 10 rooms, so you would deliver to 9 rooms. As for the gifts, some do a cabin group and some do a gift per person in the room. On page 9, post 174 I gave info on how to sign up (if you are interested) and my "rules". Feel free to post any questions as I try to check this thread daily.

No new info - I am just moving it to a new page for the newcomers who don't feel like reading the whole thread.
Hopefully, all the info to follow will help answer some questions and not scare anyone away from joining the DISboards only FE group.

For those that are interested in joining the FE, here are my rules and guidelines. The last group will be closed one month before the cruise and I will then start a latecomer’s group or a pixie dust group. Each group will stop at max of 10 cabins. If someone drops before the cruise, I will not replace them in a group. If the group had hit 10, it will stay closed.

Real names are not required – it is DW(Darling Wife), DH(Darling Husband), DD(Darling Daughter) and DS(Darling Son). For anyone who wants to make personalized gifts, let me know and I will see what I can do about getting real names.

Info required to join the FE is room #, who is in the room, ages of any kids and an email to send the final list to. Optional info is any allergies and favorite characters. The only person that will have your email is me and I will delete it from my contacts once we are back from the cruise. I will not share your email address unless you request it. I will send an email to all participants in each group as it closes. I will put directions in the email, but please look at the FE info and make sure it is correct. I will have everyone email me back to assure me they have received their email and everything is correct. After that, the only email you will get from me is if there are any changes in your FE group.

There is no spending limit(spend what you are comfortable with). Gifts can be per person or per cabin, your choice. There is no set day to deliver, just have everything delivered before Thursday(Dec. 1st) night.

I will let everyone know of any room changes up to 48 hrs. before the cruise, then I will be traveling to Texas and have limited access to the internet. After that you will either have to go door to door and drop off a note of any changes or I will have a whiteboard at my room to write any messages. Be aware that since I am not going to be in every FE group, most people will have no reason to check the board at my room.

Closer to the cruise we can maybe plan an onboard meet up on day 1 for anyone interested. If anyone is interested in being in charge of starting groups for mixology classes, an ornament exchange, a postcard exchange, a recipe exchange etc… feel free as I am only doing the FE.

As always, I will try to check this thread daily so feel free to ask any questions.

Nope, you didn't miss anything as I don't have your email yetIf you join, you would actually be #10 and the first group will be closed! We are keeping most of the FE info private, so you will need to be at 10 posts so I can pm you for info. The only thing I will post here is your DIS name and who is in the room-no real names.
