November 25, 2009 ~ Gobble~Gobble~ 4 Day WONDER Thanksgiving Cruise

I was just checking all the paperwork and I noticed in the upper right hand corner of my confirmation a price breakdown which includes a substantial "pre paid gratuities". Almost 14% of the total charges for the cruise.

Can anyone explain?

Not to sound cheep. But if this is pre paid, do I need to tip before leaving the ship?

It sounds like you have the pre paid gratuity option. You do not need to tip before leaving the ship since you have pre-paid. You will receive some vouchers for your cabin steward and servers to give out the last night. If I have received exceptional service I will tip extra in cash on the last night as well. Our servers really went above and beyond our last Disney cruise so we tipped them extra, but you are under no obligation to do so.

I would also like to put it out there that it might be time to cap our FE group. I am in the process of ordering FE gifts and don't have a lot of "wiggle room" in my order for new join-ees. What does everyone else think?

Thanks for the tipping clarification. I will bring extra cash, just in case.

I agree with capping the FE group. The ship is sold out. No rooms available at any level. It seams anyone who knows about the DISboards has already checked in.

We are also finalizing our gifts and packaging is preventing any quantity of extra's.

Jim

Okay... let's agree to cap the fish extender portion of the spreadsheet one week from now -- We'll close it on Monday, noon eastern time. That way people who only check the board on the weekend will have next weekend to sign on for the FE. If folks want to sign up for the meet and greet, they certainly can do so after that... but designating participation in the fe (adult and/or child), will be closed 11/2. Z'alright?!?

OK guys, finally during the weekend I had a chance to check on the cabin #, I found really stange that we haven't receive the tickets in the mail, in any case, here goes our info again
Myself Elcka DW, Carlos DH, Andres DS (17), Carmen DD (5) and the cabin # is 2024, please as soon as you get the spreadship in place, send it to me, thank you can many blessings guys, can't wait to meet you! Elcka

We finaly got our cabin assignment and we will be in Cabin #2026. Making us neighbors.

Capping the FE on Monday works well, gives the weekenders a chance to check in.

That is awesome! looking forward to meet you, blessings

Hi,

Please add us for meet and greet, we had rooom 2652 which had horrid reviews but were able to get moved to 2088 which is where will be.
Can't do the FE, I am just so not creative and between work, kid, hubby, and school am overextended on time at the moment.

There is myself Amy, dh Ray, and ds D'Morea (age 12).

This is only our 2nd cruise and ds first cruise.

Has anyone had any luck with Atlantis alternative booking as CS is full? Do you think any day passes will be available at resort? DCL treats son as adult but Atlantis as a kid. Makes a huge cost difference.

Also, has anyone found out what night our Pirate party will be? Hard to figure some things out since our cruise is atypical in GOOD way!

So excited and so ready to go, we are staying at BCV prior to sail for a few days to get back to Disney spirit.

Look forward to meeting everyone !

Got our tickets yesterday, not much in the packet since we are driving to the port and I booked everything on line. However, it's nice to have the luggage tags so the baggage and us end up in the same room!

Added a new family to the FE and another to the meet and greet. DOn't forget the part of the list for the FE will close Monday at noon so people can get busy ordering and making and all of that.
The link's I've been sending seem to work for some and not others. Try the one below. If it doesn't work, not to worry, as on Monday I'll post here the final FE counts for Adults/boy children/girl children so that if the google doc won't open on your machine you still will know quantity.

We decided to book the Atlantis Dolphin Cay and Adventure... so I'm hoping the weather cooperates with that decision! Brrr... it may be cold in that there water that time of year! But in the spirit of we may only come this way but once, we decided to book it now. Fingers crossed for warm sunny skies and warm, lovely water!

We also booked Paolo for Friday night. Please don't tell me that will be Pirate Night! Does anyone know for sure, as our itinerary is out of the usual order of things on a 4-night?

Everyone getting excited?? We sure are! The FE that we ordered trhough ebay came and is hanging in our kitchen... so the countdown is in full swing at our house!

hey we booked palo for the last night wondering when the pirate night will be how do we find out? thinking about dolphin adventure for us as well but have to wait and see how money goes as ds has a birthday the weekend before:)

We did this same cruise back in 2005. I can't believe it, but I found my Navigators from that cruise!!

In 2005 Pirate Night was on Friday night...9:45 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

HTH!

Ashley

Hey people! It's November 1st. We're cruising THIS month!

:cool1::banana::cheer2::yay::woohoo:

YEAH!!! Tomorrow I will go ahead and make a countdown chain for my DD. They work great for our vacations and I don't have a 4 yr. old bugging me everyday if we leave tomorrow :headache:

I am totally in the Disney spirit tonight because today we saw Disney Celebrations on Ice. It was wonderful. Loved it. Very well done. Now I'm all ready to go to WDW and on our Cruise! :cool1:

Is anyone else going to WDW too? We are leaving Friday (nov 20) after school and driving to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We are doing parks on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (still trying to figure out how to do four parks in three days!) Then drive to the ship on Wednesday!

I have my Fish Extender stuff planned! I am so excited about them! I can't wait to get them finished.

I edited post #1 to include a handy link for the fish extenders list/file. I also added Pirate night to the schedule. What night will formal night be?

Shari

We fly in on Saturday afternoon...We're heading to MK that day (we got reservations for the fireworks dessert party)....Then we'll do parks Sunday, Mon & Tuesday....Wed, we'll go to AK and leave from there (the busses will pick us up from there)....That's how we did it last time we went on this cruise in 2005. Worked out great.

Thanks!

Ashley

We're not going to WDW. We are driving up 1 day prior to the cruise and are staying overnight at the Radisson Cape Canaveral. We'll check out the Cocoa Beach area (never been) and have a seafood dinner the night before.

We are headed straight to WDW after the cruise and staying one night at BCV. Hoping the crowds are gone by then!
