November 25, 2009 ~ Gobble~Gobble~ 4 Day WONDER Thanksgiving Cruise

So in processing with my husband the night before the midnight "opening" for booking dining and excursions on Disney Cruises Website we decided that we would sign up for any excursions for this quick 4-day. That's not like us on a cruise, but we are conerned the water will just be too cold to enjoy much there. We did sign up for Paolo one evening... our son can dine with the grandparents without us -- they'll all eat each other up while we eat up some good food... but if that turns out to be Pirate night, we may cancel the reservation as he's soooo excited about that event! As opposed to a week long Celebrity sailing, this is feeling less of a time for pampering and indulgence and more a time for celebrating with our son. But I'm sure I'll stick some indulgence in there somewhere!!

I'm excited about our growing band of cruisers. I'd be happy to volunteer to start up the list for fish-extender-participators in another week or so.

We are not doing Palo either. I have heard that it is really good. Honesty just not having to cook is going to be a treat to me. If we do a seven day cruise in the future then we might try it. I honesty don't know which dinning room I would give up, they all sound so neat!

We are doing the Atlantis through Comfort Suites in Nassau. This is the first cruise for the kids so I hate to not get off the ship. I'm thinking 3 days in a row would be too much just hanging out.

I'm getting so excited. I just can't wait until Sept 11 so I can see the rest of the disneycruise.com web site and discover more things.

Shari

We did Palo dinner in our fiorst cruise and is really not worth to miss dinner and any of the rotation restaurant because food is really good in all of them and there is plenty of choices, but we love the Palo brunch so, we skip breakfast and book the 10:00 am brunch. If you let the people from the kid's club know they feed the children breakfast or you can co with them to the buffet and then to the brunch at Palo, just please...do not eat at the buffet! that say, other than the day we board the ship we don't do the buffet, breakfast is always at Lumiere (Triton) and is fantastic!

I really like Operation Gobble Gobble....think its really cute! Is there any kind of plan for people to meet at some point. I would also LOVE any suggestions for Excursions....booked the stingrays at CC and Atlantis adventure in Nassau...but am having second thoughts. We live in FL...how cold will the water be....will we really want to spend our time in the water at Atlantis? Booked Palio on Wednesday at 730 and for Brunch on Friday AM (dinner was full on Friday) Will I miss something going to Palio on the first night? We are VERY excited and I am so glad for DIS to get good ideas and advice!!!!

Welcome Diana1!!! the same reason about water temperature is the one keeping us away from booking Atlantis, to be honest I haven't look into excursions but in our other DC we had book with the tour operators and no with Disney, and have done very well $$. I suggested everyone to book brunch at Palo and skip breakfast instead of the dinner, so you have the Palo experinece and won't miss dinner.

Sailaway Party is at 4:00 pm, the meet has to be done at 3:00 pm because at 3:30 everything shuts down for the safety drill...

We need to start the FE list soon!!! I am so exited!

That's the FE that I made for my last cruise. I'm so excited that I get to use it again. I just have to fix the mickey-heads on the ends -- they didn't survive the return trip.

I'm also working on getting the 2 other cabins of family that I'm with to do FE's with us as well.

Okay, I cribbed some ideas after poking around on other meets to see the best way to do this. I have started to pull together a Google Docs Spreadsheet that I will share via a website once I have folks entered. You can make additions, deletions, etc right up until a few days before we leave. To get me started filling in the spreadsheet I'll need some info from those interested in participating in the FE fun.

Please email me the following info if you wish to be included:

Screen Name
Cabin #
First Name only of each guest participating (no last names, please) OR if you prefer not to share first name, please use Guest #1, Guest #2, Guest #3 and so on
please indicate if each person is an man, woman, boy, girl
and if a child the age (helpful to gauge appropriate gift)
Email (optional)
and interested in a 3pm Meet? Yes or No

Off we go!:surfweb:

Hi
Family of 5. We decided to go to Atlantis using a room at comfort suites. If anyone has an extra spot in there group I would be interested in buying a wristband from you.
Also planning on the sting rays at cc-- has anyone done this in November before? Was wondering if the water is really cold?
We are getting excited for our first Disney cruise!!

I have another cabin that I'll see if they want to participate in FE's as well, but I'm not sure. It's my brother though and he might be "jealous" if I'm getting lots of goodies and he's not  His wife might be up for the fun, though. I'll check with her later.

And I guess our official-unofficial cruise name is Operation Gobble Gobble! Now I can start making those door magnets. Does anyone do DISigns here?

Kim

Thanks for putting together!

Is that a hint? Better ask Santa. is there a key to the codes in these posts? and how do I post something that is not a reply but a question

For simple questions click on the "post Reply" area found on the left side of the screen at the top and bottom of each page.

Use the three message options found inside each post box if you want to have the original posting quoted in your new post.

I used a post reply for this note.

Here is a link for a list of abbreviations commonly used on the discussion boards. The link is denied due to not enough posts to date. The long way. At the top of this page click on DIS home (in blue menu bar), then type abbreviations into the search box (top right). The first suggestion gives a detailed list.

I hope this helps

Multi quite with quick reply used.

Not sure what was supposed to happen, but it came out the same. I still have not mastered these boards yet.
