November 25, 2009 ~ Gobble~Gobble~ 4 Day WONDER Thanksgiving Cruise

HI, Count us in on the meet and greet, but not the Fish Extenders. It will be our third Thanksgiving Disney cruise and we are looking forward to it very much. John and Joy from West Palm Beach, Fl.

Hi neighbor!

Hey guys, I've been waiting to say this......
NEXT MONTH WE'LL BE CRUISING!!!!!

HI Lucas! We're just up the road from Boca, in West Palm Beach. The last Thanksgiving cruise we did on Disney was four years ago. The dining room offered a full traditional turkey dinner, otherwise, my main memory was of a beautiful day at Castaway Cay. The water was a little cool for us, but it was a beautiful sunny day and we so enjoyed relaxing at the adult beach. Like last time, I have booked myself for an outdoor massage in one of the cabanas.

ok so I am getting motivated to loose ten more pounds before the trip, I have already lost 13. I know that i will probably gain five back because i remember last time we ate and ate and ate. Anyonw want to join in my quest and be a wieght lost buddy? the more the merrier

Hi Everyone -

I have been trying to talk DH into this cruise all year and finally talked him into it - I am booking first thing in the morning! (although I suppose it is possible this cruise is full......:confused3......when I called today for info they would not confirm availabitlity until I was ready to book)

Anyhow, there are 3 of us; me, DH and our 7 1/2 yo DS. ( I was excited to see there are a couple 7-8 year old boys mentioned in this thread!!!) It is our 1st Disney cruise, although we are DVCers.

I'll post specifics when they are confirmed. gobble~gobble~gobble!

YEAH, we are all set and confirmed! ::cool1:

We'll be in cabin 6592, for now in late dining (waitlisted for early seating). Add us to your list and count us in for the meet & greet and FE's!

I need to know a couple of things, can anyone help?
1.) Can we park a car a the port, what is daily rate?
2.) The ComfortSuites rooms are sold out...is there another option for going to Atlantis without paying for an excursion?

We are 1st timers for DCL, me and DH were only on one other cruise, so any tips would be very much appreciated!!! :surfweb:

Hello Alady89... my son, he will be one month past his 7 y.o. birthday and is an only as well, will be on his second cruise. How old is yours? It would be great to give our only's a running start if their ages are in sync.
A frequent cruiser, I know only too well that while it feels far away on one hand, November 25th will be here before you know it!!

Our 7 y.o. DS will be an only, too. Hopefully they will become good buddies on this cruise!

I note the age for the next level of kids club starts at 8.........he will be 8 in January, apprioximately 6 weeks after the sailing............I sure do hope he is not turned off by the younger ones grouped in his age bracket of 3-7 year olds.

Can you believe it....42 days to go? I am so excited...I've been working on magnets and all that good stuff and will have one obnoxious door. I hope I don't scare off the friends that are coming with us!

I just ordered my Fish Extenders today, so I feel like we're getting so close!!

Gobble Gobble!

Our cabin # has not been assigned yet. I really can't wait to find out what it is. I keep checking everyday. I thought it would be assigned 30 days prior, but some over on the Magic Thanksgiving cruise thread have had their cabins assigned this week.

We are driving up on the Tuesday before and staying at the Radisson. We will be leaving our car at the port, too. Parking Fee - Parking at the Port is $15 a day. (American Express is NOT accepted at the parking lot.)

Sorry, I can't help with the Atlantis question.

Lots of good info here: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520273

Welcome! :cheer2: This will be my 8th cruise and my second on DCL, if you have any specific cruise questions, just ask away and I'll see if I can answer them.

I just returned from my all-inclusive vacation in Cancun. It was wonderful and very relaxing. Now I'm back at work and can just feel the stress returning to my body. Oh well, at least I have a CRUISE coming up soon! :cool1:

Hello Everyone:

Thanks to those who have either PM'd me or replied here to the thread with their info for the FE and Meet and Greet participation. I should have it up with a link to a Google Docs spreadsheet by week's end, so then you can check to be sure you're included, make changes or corrections, and let me know if I can add more.

Our sail away will be here before you know it! Yey!:cool1:

Just PM'd you our info - I'm hoping it's not too late to join in on the FE's!

Fantastic!

Thanks for the good links! Any news on your cabin assignment yet?

Hello Everyone:
See what happens when you move? Sorry it took MUCH longer to generate this first draft of our list of participants, but my family did move and between boxes, utilities, and all sorts of other issues, this had to take a back burner. But I finally got to it and want to share it with you.

Are you not on it but want to be? Did I miss you? Don't miss out on the fe and meet & greet fun!
Are you on but want to be off it? While we hope our ranks will grow and grow (there's nothing like a happy collective!), your plans may have changed.
Do you want to make any other corrections/additions/deletions? For example, I don't have my cabin number with me right now, so I'll add that to my family's section of the spreadsheet a little later.

Please look over the document at the link below. If you have trouble navigating it or making the change yourself, just email me or throw your request up here on the board and I'll be happy to take care of it myself. I'm back to checking this space and my pm account here regularly.

Here's what I'll do:
1) I'll maintain our list until 1 week before sail date. No additions to the FE's can be made after November 18th. Of course, the more the merrier for the meet and greet so if you find this board after the 18th, please still come to that.
2) I'll bring to the meet and greet printed nametags for those attending whose first names are known to me and are on the spreadsheet. I'll also bring blank ones for folks I missed. Bring your children to make a stop at the M&G as it would be especially good for them to know fellow cruisers.
3) I'll also bring multiple copies of our final post-11/18 list so that everyone has the latest cabin info for those doing the FE.

Here's what I need someone else to do:
1) Select the place where we will meet at 3pm on the 25th. While my husband, son and I have cruised several times before, we've never done Disney. I do not know the ship well enough to select a place to meet. Someone needs to grab that bull and publish here on the board the location of the meet & greet a few times in the coming weeks.
2) Let me know if I'm forgetting something. Again, this is our first Disney so, hence, our first FE and Disney Meet & Greet... if I'm missing a crucial detail, just throw it out here and I'll be on it!

Here's the link to the list:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AkEQVMPjpHUadFpfVmhfVUhFWWV0emhBel9LaENBWmc&hl=en

And don't forget I can edit it for you if it is being funky for you!

We're excited that we're closing in on the much-anticipated trip. I'm also excited that there seem to be a fair number of us on the board with children of the same age... sailing with no children... etc... so the cohorts and opportunities for chat and fun will be excellent.

Now, for my next, probably insane goal... Can I reaaaaalllly pack the three of us in 3 roll-aboards and eliminate checked luggage? Hmm...

Gobble, Gobble... Maggie

Thanks Maggie -- it looks great! Are all of the cruisers listed on the spreadsheet participating in the FE's? If so, this should be an easy one for me considering my last cruise I had over 30 FE's to get ready and do. It was crazy! I went home with almost an entire carry-on full of FE's. My DD loved it though!

Hope your move went well. I'm hoping that my last move 3 years ago was my last one for a very, very, very long time.

And the meet and greet on my last DCL cruise was in the lounge area inside. I'll have to look at the deck plans for the Wonder and figure out what it is called. I'll get back to everyone on that since that location was a pretty good and easy one for a meet.

Kim

Promenade Lounge on deck 3. That's it. Just looked it up.

How about that location for our 3pm meet and greet?
