November 25, 2009 ~ Gobble~Gobble~ 4 Day WONDER Thanksgiving Cruise

it is a good thing that ds birthday is tomorrow. It has been a nice distraction but we are all getting excited. He had to do a writing assignment about the future and one of his sentences was how many days until he would be on the disney cruise:) very cute

We just booked last Saturday and I am a tad worried that we will not get our paperwork in time.

This is taken directly from the Disney Cruise website.

It is customary to give gratuities in recognition of service, which you will most likely be treated to in abundance aboard the ship. As a guideline, we suggest the following:

Per Guest per cruise 3-Night 4-Night 7-Night
Dining Room Server $12.00 $16.00 $28.00
Dining Room Asst. Server $9.00 $12.00 $21.00
Dining Room Head Server $3.00 $4.00 $7.00
Stateroom Host/Hostess $12.00 $16.00 $28.00
Dining Manager Your Discretion
Room Service Your Discretion
Palo Gratuity included
Vista Spa & Salon Your Discretion
Babysitting Gratuity not expected
Shore Excursions Optional; not included in shore excursion price.

For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine and deck service tabs. All gratuities can be charged to your room charge. (Good to know)

At the Walt Disney World Resort, 15% is the customary gratuity at restaurants and bars.

Thanks!

Dvc came thru with a studio for us !!! BCV

We are also in a studio at BCV with points!! (Sunday night after the cruise.....hoping the WDW crowds are gone by then!) We've never stayed there before, so we are very excited to check it out.

BCV must be a happening place. We are also staying there for 2 nights following the cruise.

See you all on the ship, we are headed to WDW Thursday afternoon.

Thank you Linda! Our stateroom is 8018. See you next week.

I have enough to o 3 more FE's too....I'll drop off some goodies to your room too....Let us know the girls names, if you don't mind an I'll add that to the tags.

Thanks! Ashley

(my 7 year old daughter will be excited to know that there's another 6 year old!)

No worries, there is nothing in your paperwork that you really need anyway. Go online and fill out your paperwork, print out and sign. (It's the same stuff you get in mail.)

For your luggage tags-just ask the porter at the ship for blank tags. Bring a sharpie and just fill out right there at the port.

That's all you need.

I also plan to hand out all my FE gifts on one day (which day, I do not know pixiedust:). I am wrapping them in a ziploc & attaching a label identifying it is from us.

Just to clarify participation, I count and catagorize as follows: 12 men, 16 women, 3 teens/uncle, 6 boys and 8 girls. Can anyone verify this.....I do not want to miss anyone but I also do not want to overpack!

Still hoping someone can shed light on the suggested tipping...............
Ok so I count 45 gifts, cruising grandma will want to do them all on one day! do we get a list that tells us number in each cabin and age etc? any ideas for the 3 teens?

call the number under contact us on disney cruise main page. I was a day late with a medical form and the person on the phone was very helpful and made sure our reservation was updated with necessary information.

Actually, as pointed out by an earlier post, the total count is 46.....I was off by one man. Below is the correct count.

Men: 13
Women: 16
Teens, Uncle: 3
Boys: 6
Girls:8

If you go to page one of this thread, you'll see a "get to know the cruisers" post that has a link to a spreadsheet identifying the names/staterooms of those participating in the FE and others that are going to the Meet & Greet.

The FE gift exchange list closed at the beginning of the month. We registered late too. The list is on the first page of the thread. There is a link to the spreadsheet.

I did not print/sign any forms and I'm pretty sure I was never told I needed to do so.....did I miss something??????

I may have old eyes or I am looking at an old link but I come up with less boys then your count....also Cole and Cate boys or girls, Mallory same question that maybe where my count is off:surfweb:

You go on line and enter your reservation number (same place as where you sign up for excursions, Palo's, the spa, etc.). Then you enter all your flight information and each traveller's information. Then you need to read the contract (HA-or just check the box that you read it waiving all your rights) and then print out. You will also enter your credit card that you will be using on the ship and you also mark whether the other people in your party can charge also or not.

It's pretty simple.

Then print out the forms and you will have all that taken care of when you get to the port.
