November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

Animal Kindgom Villas. We're going with extended family and my parents are DVC members. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great way to start a cruise vacation. Mingle with the wildabeasts and emus. Hope you have a great time there.

Have you checked out the Facebook page for this cruise? They keep posting things over there that don't make it to this thread. There is a link a page or two back for it.

Since we are going to be in Cozumel the longest, we want to definitely do an excursion. We were throwing around going to Naci Cocum or Mr. sancho's. Anyone been to them? Are there any other suggestions?

I've never been there so I can't say what we are doing yet. I know that the 90 day window opens on Sunday so I guess DW and I are going to need to sit and start planning but I have to tell you, I'm really just looking forward to finding a good chair, a good book a cold drink and relaxing for seven days. Well, at least I know there will be one day I will definaltely be getting off the ship, but that will be to find a lounge chair, an umbrella, a hammock, a cold drink, a good book, and relaxing with the sound of the surf lapping against the shore line......

I have been to Cozumel w/ my sister on another cruise and did a Dune Buggy and snorkel excursion. It was fun....Yet, my DD is only 7 (turns eight week after cruise), and due to age, would be limited to certain DCL excursions. We were looking at doing what you said, laying around, hanging out at a Beach Club on Cozumel...basically doing nothing.
I am trying to get this figured by Sunday since I am able to sign up on Sunday also.

We can't wait to go....I came up w/an idea for a homemade FE related to where we are from....92 days to go.

We have done the beach break excursion several times with RCCL and they use Playa Mia and it's pretty nice....not sure what beach Disney uses but all I know is those complimentary rum punch drinks sneak up on you fast!

For all you info junkies, I use a great app called Shipmate on my Android. Just another medium of information about our cruise to keep the anxiety level up :-)

Is anyone planning on going to the Tropicante Beach in Costa Maya?

http://www.sandalsandskis.com/Tropicante.html

We have been discussing it over on the Facebook page and thought it would be great if a few kids of similar ages were going so they could play together while the adults got to relax.

My daughter is 8 and looks like there are two other kids who might be there (ages 3 and 4).

We are not sure what we are doing yet, but having kids for our daughter to play with would be a great incentive to get off the ship in Costa Maya.

(We are also thinking about Naci Cocum in Cozumel - just want to sit and relax on this vacation!)

I think that we are going to try the Nachi Cocum on Cozumel. My DS is 13 and DD is (7) going on 8.

We had not even thought about Costa Maya, but will take a look at the Tropicante.

You are right on with trying to find someone else for the kids to hang with. We just want to relax, chill, and have cocktails.

Those of you on our FB page already know........BALANCE IS PAID! I was going to do it on August 16th but thought - Oh just do it now! I am sooo excited. Airfare and hotel on the 23rd was booked in June so besides taking Matthew to LegoLand (free child entrance coupon with paid adult) - I know - know - LegoLand is not a Disney park - I just have to book our shore excursions & Palo & we are done! Woo Hoo!! :cheer2:

Well forget LegoLand -they close at 6 PM and by the time we get there it will be 4 PM so...we are going to see my Dad and Step-Mother instead.

My family will also be coming:

BrutusBru (Connecticut) Janna, DH Will, DS Matthew (4) (Stateroom: GTY)

We have a room number assigned. Please update the FE list as well as Roll Call. Our room number is 7004. Thank you

Okay, we have completed the on-line check-in, booked Palo brunch for Thursday at 12:30 & the Cozumel Highlight and Mayan Ruins tour for 8:45am on Wednesday. DW is looking at a facial at the spa but that looks like something that can be reserved on-board on check-in. Can't find where to purchase the one-day pass for the Rainforest but haven't given up on that one yet. DW and I are thinking of just walking around the dock at Costa Maya since it's such a short stay in port and the DW has no interest in tendering at Grand Cayman. Want to do the MDR for all evening dinners (late seating) just so we don't miss out on anything, especially AP shows. Given that, I think I now sit back for 90 days, converse with you all on FB and DISboards, and wait. Am I missing something?

We think we are all done. Did not have passports with me, so I will update that information when I get home. Also, need to print out the form.

Booked Dolphin Encounter & Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman.

As others have said, just 90 days to wait till the cruise. At least our vacation starts a few days earlier at Disney World. We wil be staying at Saratoga Springs starting Wednesday - Friday, then get to see our good friends and travel companions Steve and Lisa. They just found out their stateroom and they are almost across the hall from us. That is AWESOME.

I think the time will fly by, except for the few days before the cruise. Our DD starts pre-school, then she has her Birthday(Turning 3), then we go to Indianalopis in October, plus all the other things we do on weekends.

Hope everyone got what they wanted or at least close and comparable.

Can not wait till meet everyone.

When we get closer to our cruise, I'll do a head count/roll call for Nachi Cocum and Tropicante so we can coordinate getting our kids together to entertain each other while the grownups observe and relax!

It's starting to feel more "real" every day!!

(Now I need to get my final plans in order for our Canada cruise on the Magic in 2 weeks. I'm less prepared for that one than the Fantasy in November....)

Sounds like a plan to me. It will go by so quickly (I hope). What is the Rainforest? I did see it somewhere and I was curious on what it was. Booked all my items as well. Not a lot of excursions, just want to relax. Have to get working on the FE items. Have an idea but that sometimes doesn't go as planned. Talk with you soon again. :)

It is a part of the spa that you can get a one-week pass or just a one-day pass for (maybe, there's been some discussion on the main board about this). The cost of a one-day pass is $16. They have saunas, aroma-therapy, and heated lounges. We did it on the Magic and the Wonder in 2000 and 2002 and really enjoyed it. Not something we want to do every day but one or two days is really nice.

The Rainforest Room is wonderful and relaxing. You can get $16 day passes online through the on-board gifts section or you can by a week pass when you get on board. We use the Rainforest Room every day.

I'll see if I can find some photos and post them.

We are coming in on Friday, and staying Friday nite at Saratoga Springs. We plan on relaxing in the afternoon at the pool (weather permitting), and grazing to Downtown Disney. We are hopping the DCL bus to the port on Sat morning. We may run into you on Friday.

Happy Sailing.....WooHoo...

I noticed the Rain Forest passes under the On-Board Gifts and Amenities section of the DCL website.

I have never been before, and after reading about it, I think I am going to give it a try.
