November 24, 2012 Magic

Our girls love to meet all of the characters. The only exception was my youngest who was 6 at the time had a little run in with Stitch and stiff armed him in the nose when he got too close. It was so unexpected even the handlers laughed. They are usuallly very good about reading which kids are more timid and who they can come up on more. It's kind of sad, our oldest (who will be 10 by the cruise) said that she doesn't want a princess dress this time :( I think it's crazy because if I could get away with it I would wear a princess dress!

I could see the youngest doing that. And I could see you in a princess dress. LOL:joker:

Hello Everyone,

I have created a Facebook group as another avenue to exchange information on our upcoming cruise.

The group is under Disney Magic 11-24-2012

Thanks,

Thanks, Sara! I can't find the group page using Disney Magic 11-24-2012 or Disney Magic 11-24-12. Help!!! What am I doing wrong?

If you do a facebook search for Disney Magic 11-24-2012 it should come up.
I just had my daughter try and it worked for her.

Sara, can you send your daughter to my house to log me in? :rotfl:

I searched again using Disney Magic 11-24-2012 and came up with nothing.

My FB name is: Janet Vitti Ziegler.

I just sent you a facebook request. Once you accept, I will add you to the group and then you can post a direct link on here. (It will not allow me to because I have not posted enough yet).

This will be our first cruise; is there DIS pin trading on the boat like in the parks? Also what about Vinylamtions? Will they be selling & trading DIS Vinylmations onboard?

Thanks

I am bringing my three nieces on the cruise. The youngest will celebrate her 11th birthday on Tuesday. Does anyone know what is done for someone's birthday. I didn't know how to plan for it so wanted to see if one of you could provide some information. Thanks so much.....Lynne

Lynne,

Call DCL and ask them to note your reservation that your niece will be celebrating her birthday.

I found a recent thread discussing a child's birthday on board. Hope this info helps.

I found a link for you about pin trading aborad the ship. There is one evening designated as pin trading with the officers/CMs in the atrium and I believe some CMs in the shops may have pins to trade. You can check with guest servivces as to which evening it is scheduled on our cruise.

As for Vinylmation trading, I found the folloiwng comment on a non-DiS message board:

Vinylmation trading is pretty much nonexistent on DCL from guest to guest. While they do have the trading boxes in the stores, they don't really help set anything up...

Talked to my daughter tonight, they got a roaring standing ovation for "Villains Tonight" - AND they switched the Pirate Night so her "Dreams" show won't have to compete with it. DCL is real curious how the audience will respond to her show. I'll let you know. I'll be talking to her on Saturday when they're in port.

Does anybody have any good breakfast/brunch restaurant recommendations for the cast while they're docked in Galveston?

:thumbsup2 I am so excited to hear this about the Villains Tonight show. I'm really looking forward to that one. Things I would love to know now:

What night does Villains Tonight perform?
What night is Pirates night?

We may not be able to do our night in Palo. Glad I booked a brunch too just in case. I am very eager to hear the reviews from those who were on the sailing this week.

Do they still do the villains party that night? We did the westbound transatlantic in 2010 and there was a villains party. Didn't know if that was for all cruises or just special for that one.

They were testing out the waters for this first cruise out of Galveston. They weren't sure which nights the shows were going to be or Pirate night. They are going to have a definite show schedule after this first sailing. I will talk to my daughter today while they're in port and see if they've finalized the show schedule yet for the rest of the cruises and let everyone know.
