I am looking for advice on booking a 8 day stay in November 2019 or Spring 2020. We have a 40-50% CM discount so we are lucky to be able to go quite often but I like to make the most of the visit. Our previous visits were last week of October 2016 (right before Halloween) when my daughter was 25 months old (and 36" to ride Barnstormer!) and recently April 25th when my daughter was 3.5 years old and my newborn was 5 months old. For November 2019, my 1st daughter will be 5 years old and my youngest will be 2 years old. For Spring 2020 (assume another April visit), my daughters will be approximately. 5.5 and 2.5 years old. At that age, 5-6 months is huge so I am not sure where I am leaning. If I go in November, I can go again sooner... :) I am fine with either date as the weather is LOW 80s and mild (for FL standards) too. There's a lot of dates being floated around for newer attractions so I am not sure what's been finalized yet.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Both... lol

Kidding aside, Personally, I would wait until Spring 2020 since Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will be opening "Late Fall" 2019, but I know that feeling ALL too well of wanting to go sooner.

I too vote for waiting until spring 2020 for star wars to be open for certain. If that doesn't interest you then choose November as your littlest one would probably love all the holiday decorations. As far as rides i don't think the 6 month difference will make a huge high variation where it would allow them to ride that many more rides. It sounds like with a CM discount you can go often so you will likely be able to see SW land at some point.

Yes, I am very fortunate. I am tempted to wait but it would be for a selfish reason. If it were Epcot, that would be a different story as the entire family would enjoy. With that said, it's quite possible Star Wars is delayed making my spring 2020 visit pointless when I could have gone sooner. I think I am leaning towards a November 2019 visit and then right after Epcot opens (2021?).

We are going in early November 2019 to avoid SWGE!

As big a SW fan as I am, no way I want to deal with those crowds. Nope. Not happening. We’ll wait for the initial hype to die down (by a year or two).

So - my vote goes to November. :-)

I've been down twice in November and numerous times in March and April. I personally like spring better as the weather is just so nice. November isn't bad, but was more humid than I expected. Also, I was expecting lighter crowds in November, but found the parks just as busy as spring break time (just my last trip, but that could have been a fluke with Hurricane Irma and so many people delaying trips and coming then). Both are decent times to go. I'm doing a mini trip in 2019 and picking March instead of November like last year. Both are half way decent choices though IMHO.

We chose May 2020. We can see Star Wars, Toy Story Land, the new Mickey/Minnie ride will be open in DHS and Flower/Garden at Epcot! The cons may be rides closed for refurbishment for the big anniversary the next year, but then if we go back in 2022, so much will be open!!!

I always go at the very end of November and love it. It should be less crowded then spring, and you can always go back to see SW when the hype has died down a bit. And the weather in November is usually great.

Go in November. I would head down the Saturday after Thanksgiving and just resort hop or shop and relax around the pool. That Sunday the Thanksgiving crowd will have moved out and you will have full access to all of the Holiday festivities.

I checked the crowd calendar on a few different sites and it appears that November is quite busy except for the middle right before Thanksgiving due to NJ school break and the marathon? I was at WDW about 7 years ago 1st week of November and it was DEAD -- Quite glorious. So, I am not sure if I should wait till early spring now...

Since you have never been over the holidays I would pick November. Even if there are crowds, there will be plenty of things to do. Epcot would be enjoyable for your little ones with the international festival of the holidays. We plan on taking my little girl over thanksgiving next year when she will be 18 months. The storytellers would be fun for little ones.

Can anyone comment on crowds for November ? I’m reading conflicting info

We usually go over Christmas or thanksgiving, so to us thanksgiving is very doable. It will be more crowded over thanksgiving than the spring most likely. I haven’t been over the spring months for 15 years so I wouldn’t be the best. I don’t think the crowds are all that bad around thanksgiving. If you went the Saturday before and left around thanksgiving it wouldn’t be bad or if you started right after thanksgiving. Starting Sunday after thanksgiving, the crowds really drop.

We could go December 4th which is the middle of the 1st week but I am wondering if it will be crowded. I could go in October but I am not a fan of Halloween. So, do I go December 4th or early spring?

Personally, I would go December 4th vs spring. The crowds should be similar, but the weather would be better and you will have the holiday decorations and festivities going on.

November and early December are wonderful times to visit IMHO. Either early November (to catch some of the F&W Festival) or after the holiday which would take you into early December. The latter period would be especially lovely because of the holiday decorations and for MVMCP if you’d like to attend that. Good luck with your decision!

This is what we are doing as well! And, it was posted that the new Ratatouille ride might be open that May as well!
