When is the best time to come in after Jersey week Nov 2015?
Flights go out later in the day by us and was wondering would coming in Fri or Sat night give a better chance of getting a better 2 room villa at the Boardwalk?

NJ schools r closed nov 6 and 7 for a teachers conference. So a lot people take extra time then

Next year 2015 NJ schools are closed on November 5th and 6th ( Thursday and Friday) for the teachers convention. Thus forcing all of us nut cases to head south to visit Mickey Mouse :)

There's also usually a marathon that weekend and it's the last weekend of Food & Wine. Are you looking to reserve on points? I would reserve at 11 months.

That weekend is the wine and dine half marathon- I know we'll be reserving our room exactly at 11 months

So is that a really super busy weekend?
Does anyone actually when Jersey Week would be? Would it be the very first week or the week going into Veterans Day week? I just noticed it was very busy when they have that whole week off. No offense against anyone from Jersey. I grew up there and love it. :)

For 2015, it would end Nov. 8. It's busy, but as my DVC buddy from Alabama says, "Y'all walk fast, talk fast, drink and are crazy friendly." It's her favorite week in The World. And in the past, dinner reservations are better late at night as WDW seems to be prepared for us to eat later...(that's an anecdotal thing, and I haven't been for the last few years... :worried: )

And, yeah, it would end Sunday, because even with a night flight, no one is more than an hour or so (and I'm hanging off the bottom of the state) from an airport.

And my district closes for Election Day too. So it would be the 3rd. Works out great.

We are going late Oct into the first week of Nov so we will catch the tail end of Jersey week, but from everything I have read, Jersey week is more of a myth than reality.

Sure, there is a higher concentration of visitors from Jersey during the week, but its not like the entire state is heading to Disney.

I have been looking into that time of year the first couple of weeks can be busy. In that first week and a half you have Jersey week, there is a race, it’s the end of food and wine, Veterans Day, food and wine classic over at the swan and most years festival of the masters. Then a few days before Thanksgiving the crowds pick up again. If food and wine isn't a must do, our last trip was to F&W so we're okay skipping it this time, then the dates 11/12-11/24 are the slowest times in Nov. That is when we plan on going. Also we stayed at the Boardwalk the last time a really enjoyed it.

I just booked Poly studio villa for the 13 - 20. I've been in Nov several times and each time it was a different experience. We are so busy at Christmas that there is no way to get away in Dec so I am hoping to see the Christmas decorations. I also plan to go to the Christmas party. My DD is in Middle School now so it's harded to take her out of school. So this will probably be our last chance to see any Christmas things with her because in High School it will be impossible to take her out. Getting Excited

Regarding Jersey Week. We've been to WDW several times during that time, I guess. Never knew it was "jersey week", but never had a problem at all. We did notice a lot of men in tank tops and shorts (even when it was cold), yelling at their son:"Joey, hurry up, whatda matta with ya???" Honestly, it was fun. Lots of energy even with the "accent". Were from Minnesota so we say "you betcha and Uff Da! LOL

According to the Disney website, F&W ends on the 16th this year. I was surprised that it was ending so late.

Our school district in NJ will not have that entire week off like they used to. And no it is not crazy crowded at all during Jersey Week. I found Jersey Week 2013 was much LESS crowded than the week we went in 2014... Nov 12-18th. i am actually happy I am not going during free dining this year because last year it was just crazy. What used to be such a slow week, was the opposite- still manageable but noticeable in crowd increase. There really is no slow time anymore in wdw unless you are going right after Labor Day weekend.

I was there during Jersey week 2013 and I have to say I did not find it to be very crowded. I did not know it was Jersey week until after being there and when I found out I thought...Ahhh, now I understand why so many people I struck up a conversation with on the bus were from NJ. being from the tri-state area I can say it is no surprise that the NJ guests were very pleasant and nice to be around. So I personally would not avoid Jersey week.

Perhaps we got lucky with the parks we chose but overall it was not bad at all. We only had one very crowded MK day and it was a Saturday after a bunch of MNSSHP's so I attribute the crowds to that and not the influx of NJ residents.
