November 2015, Blackouts, Questions !

Hello folks, so looking into this for my sister and, if the cards align, potentially myself as well

Just looking at this historical discounts, and the First week of November was Blacked Out from Free Dining last year, just wondering if anyone knows why ? Like if there was something going on at that time.

We need to book vacation a good deal out, even if we aren't totally sure of our dates, so we are looking at booking 2 weeks off in November, and hoping they align with Free Dining (assuming its offered this year), or some other good discount.

Ok, I have no idea what Jersey week is, but I understand its the same week again this year ? First week of November ?

The entire state of New Jersey's teachers have a convention that week, so all schools are closed. So a ton of folks from NJ decide to go to Disney World that week. It's not ridiculously crowded though.

Jersey week really isn't that crowded, some people make it seem way worse than it is. I am from Jersey and do go sometimes that week. We went that week in 2013 and it was great, crowds were managable. This year I'll be there 5-14th. They do black out that week but there is more going on than just Jersey week. There's the Wine & Dine Marathon, F&W Festival also. I also went the week after last year from the 12-18th and it felt much more crowded than Jersey week. We were surprised at how crowded it was. I just wish we could get the old November crowds back again!!!! Lol It used to be the best time to go, the parks were how they are now the first week of September. Then everyone caught on. But yes, last year free dining was blacked out the first week with the exception of the 1st.

What would be your best guess on what would be the last day before Thanksgiving, that will qualify for free dining (assuming we get fd in Nov)

In 2014 the last day you could check-in to receive FD was November 20th. Just to give you a round about of what it could be this year.

We checked in on the evening of 11/20/14 and had free dining for the duration of our 14 day stay - all thru Thanksgiving week and the week after. While I'm hoping there will be another round of FD this year, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't or the offering is some sort of reduced version (like maybe just CS for moderates/deluxe?) because they have been slowly trying to get away from the discounts as the economy improved.
