NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Part 2~yes there IS another!

This is my first post here... I'm still trying to soak up all of the Dis Knowledge!

My husband and I are taking our 3 princesses (ages 6, 3, & 1) on a SURPRISE trip to WDW from 11/5-11/10. We are staying at the AOA resort in a Finding Nemo room.

I made dinner ressies @ Coral Reef, Akershus, Crystal Palace & breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table the day we leave. I am hope hope hoping to get into Be Our Guest, but we'll have to wait & see about that!

As of right now it doesn't look like we'll be able to take advantage of the free dining if I ever get send a PIN because of our check-in date (we are going during "Jersey Week" so I didn't expect much anyway).

We already purchased tickets to the MVMCP on 11/9 and we plan to hit the Food & Wine festival while we are there, too!

I am beyond excited for our first family vacation, and look forward to learning even more from all of you!

I would recommend Rose & Crown as well. They were excellent when we did CLP in 2009

I am getting so impatient waiting for a FD pin. I call everyday. I used to get pins all the time until I booked my trip. I booked back in February then switched my reservation to AoA in May. I am beginning to think I made a mistake by booking early. I have done all the tricks to get a pin. I am thinking about canceling my reservation to see what happens. What do ya'll think about that? Anybody had an luck with this or am I risking not getting the LM room by doing it this way.

I did the same thing... I booked early, then cancelled, got scared I wasn't going to be able to get a room so I booked a room only reservation. After I had my room only reservation I kept saving vacation offers that included park tickets and dining plans. I finally got my first elusive pin! Good luck!!

I know much of the talk these days is about CP and flights but I am pretty excited that I just booked WAT for us...Dec 1st @ 9:30.

Now I am reaaaaaaaaallllyyyyy hoping for FD, as I could get the spleen I had to give away to pay for WAT!

I've heard you can start making ADRs for CLP on June 26.

Finally received a pin brochure in the mail today for free dining!!!

I have to check in on 11/15 in order for it to cover Thanksgiving week. So the kids will have to miss 2 extra days of school. Oh well

Congrats to you! We had to do the same thing. I hate my kids missing the two days of school, but LOOOVE that we'll have two extra days at WDW and FD to boot!

I know how you feel. I'm in the same boat. My reservation was made last year for AS Movies. Then I switched it to AoA when it was announced that the LM rooms would be ready for guests earlier than expected. And still no PIN of any kind. My TA has been trying for some months now. Still nothing.

I will have a kid in 11th grade, 8th grade and 2nd grade. I am thinking about going with the 2 younger on the 15th and then having my husband and 11th grader come the next day. Sounds crazy but it's not going to be good for her to miss 4 days of school. Tday week they have school Mon and Tues but they do not do any work. They goof off. If I can arrange for her and my husband to come Fri after school it would be great.

I think 11th grade is the hardest and possibly most critical year of high school. Anything you can do to minimize time away while still giving her time to play would be a good thing.

Does anyone know if they are releasing or extending FD? I know everyone is getting pins. I have gotten them before and booked but there were none on my name when I called WDW yesterday. I don't think they have a tree ceremony at MK? Epcot used to have a tree lighting ceremony, unsure if they still do that.

Hi everyone! I just want to say I am now starting to worry if I'll get free dining or not for my one week trip starting Nov. 12th. I've spent so much time chosing and planing my restaurants but I have to say, if I don't get FD things are such that I'll have to cancel dining and just go OOP.

I can't wait until the day when I check back on this thread and you're all jumping up and down with joy lol ! Come on fall free dining!!

I've tried asking this in several other forums, and I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any advice. My mom and I booked a trip for two with a room only pin code discount and we added park hopper tickets. Apparently this makes a package (and I"m starting to despise the word package ). Now a friend has decided to join us for part of the trip. She will fly down with us and fly out halfway through the trip.

Normally we would simply add any parttime guests to the reservation once we get to the resort. But because she's arriving with us, she can't use DME unless she has the same package as us ahead of time. We don't want to cancel and rebook our reservation separating the room and tickets because the pin code has expired and we frankly got a better deal than the pin code indicated .

I don't understand how if my mom and I arrived one day prior to my friend, she could ride DME and not have the same package as us. But because she's arriving at the same time that there is absolutely no way that she can ride DME unless she pays for extra tickets and the extra adult resort charge for days that she will not be there . Has no one else done this before? Some people on the DIS are acting like this is some strange anomaly.

Has anyone ridden any other kind of shuttle from the airport? I've heard it can take even longer than the DME .

I'll have a 7th grader, a 12th grader and DS1 will be a college senior. They NEVER miss school, but for the FD, we just had to do it. The younger two have the whole Thanksgiving week off, so they'll only miss the two days. DS1 usually tries to work his school schedule so he only has classes on Mon/Wed, so he wouldn't miss any extra for us to get the FD. (hopefully)
