I have tried to do a pre trip report before and never have any followers lol BUT this time might be different... theres 11 ppl and we are on the DxDP! So I think I will start another one.... now I need a catchy title

Let me know if you do. I'll follow.
I have one going right now. It is the Universal Adventures one in my signature. It covers 2 trips (my spring one and the Nov one...but I post what page the fall one starts up on the first page.

I feel the exact same way! All I have done is eat, sleep, and talk Disney for the last few weeks building up to being able to make my ADRs...its sad when your 6 & 7 year old tell you they are tired of hearing about it :sad2: They are really excited about the trip but tired of hearing where we are eating and when:rotfl:

I was talking Disney and could tell DH was not listening at all, so I said to him You are not even listening and he says no your always talking about Disney.

Well when discounts come out I just may change up our resort to GF and tell him I told you if you had been listening

I have always wanted to stay at GF during Christmas Season but he wants the BW again

I have learned to only run the really important things by DH. The Dis hears about the rest of it. :thumbsup2:laughing:

Yes, we are staying at AoA 11/24-12/1 with Free quick service dining, but I paid to upgrade dining which was still cheaper than upgrading to moderate resort.

I've also upgraded from free quick-service DP to the regular DP, but I'm staying at POP. I figured it out, and it works out to me having to pay just $16 per person, per day! So if you think about it, each of us is paying only $16 per day to eat... and even though thats not free, its still and amazing deal!! :thumbsup2

Agreed! I have the DxDP so I pay $9ish per day for the kiddos and $34ish for me and DH per day. Still cant beat that! Not for all the food and snacks!

You have been gone for a while. Good to see you back. :goodvibes
Super busy at work and home. Launching a new website next week at work. I like to DIS a little at work, easier than at home since i try and spend time with my son then. Finally slowing down a teeny tiny bit so I can jump on. Still on the FB group though- i started that, so I visit there often (Michelle Easler Peters- is my name on there!). :wizard:

Attention all FD recipients...
Are any of you booked at the Art of Animation Resort? :confused3 I'm trying to ascertain if WDW is including their newest resort in the FD offer/promo/PIN.
Yes, AoA appears to be included.

I have learned to only run the really important things by DH. The Dis hears about the rest of it. :thumbsup2:laughing:
LOL- no kidding. MY DH finally got a little bit of the Disney bug when he agreed to buy DVC for us after our 2009 trip. It was my 10 year wedding anniversary gift. And couldn't have been a more better gift! But he really doesn't care about the details of our trips. He will make a single request every now and then for a special event, restaurant or something, but that's it. Otherwise, he goes with the flow and at this point, i think he knows my plans allow us to see and do more than most people, so he is always on board. His only request this trip was to go back to Blizzard Beach. Not sure it will be warm enough or not, but we will try! I think sometimes it is almost better to have them not that involved, then you get all the control!!!!!!! ;):lmao:

Just got the worst CM. Told her I wanted to check all my family for FD pins and she told me that its not open to the GP yet and if she applied to my ressie she'd get in serious trouble. :headache: Told her that's not what I was asking for. She ended up FINALLY checking and found the 10% off room rate only that I already knew about and tried to apply it to the AoA (even though I told her not to) and surprise, surprise it won't work. :sad2: She then told me though if I wanted to change resorts from pin is valid for all stays from Oct. 14, 2012 to July 23, 2028. :confused3 I repeated the 2028 date and she said yes. I'm sure she's going to last a long time in her current job if she keeps giving out pin codes valid for 16 years. :rotfl:

So I'm on the still waiting for FD list. :hourglass :coffee: popcorn::

Too funny

Same here...my family was tired of hearing me long ago. I only involved DH with dining choices, adding a Sea World day, and celebrating FD. But I told them I didn't want to hear any complaining later on if they don't want to be bothered with planning now. :lmao: They just don't understand that planning is half the FUN!!!

Thanks, Disers! I knew I could count on you guys/gals. :) Well, looks like I'm still waiting for a PIN. Waiting, and waiting...

Hopefully, one will materialise for us soon. I have faith!

Ok I think I am the only one obsessively checking my Disney account to make sure all my dinning ressies are correct and for the correct amount of ppl and that the trip is indeed paid off :rotfl: I keep thinking Im forgetting about something. But what?

It's great that you have everything under control! All you have to do now is pack and travel to Orlando! :rotfl: :yay: :dance3:

Thanks to everyone that keeps posting in this thread, it has been a huge help for me planning my family’s first visit to Disney Nov 8th-17th.

So far I have ASM booked as we are a family of 5(DD 13,DS 10,DD 7) and each child having their own “bed” will save me a huge amount of work (sibling rivalry). I have most of my ADR’s (18) done including an illusive 8:05@ crt on the 10th. We also have MVMCP, BB, Fantasmic and Dolphins in depth booked.

Currently I am working on minor adjustments and tour plans. A couple of questions have popped up and I am look for everyone’s opinion.

As I said we are staying at All Star Music family suite so each child has their own bed. It was the only affordable option I saw at the time. A few people here have mention getting 2 rooms. I am curious about the pro’s and con’s of this and cost differences.

Something else is the dessert party. My wife is a big sweets fan, especially chocolate I was thinking it would be something to look at.. but with a family of 5 it will be over $100 for dessert. Not sure it’s worth it.

Thanks for everyone’s input, and send some pixie dust my way still waiting on a FD pin (although the CM I was talking to said typically they go out to returning people not first timers).

Yes it is! I upgraded from Pop to a Cars Suite this morning with the FD. We're staying 11/9-11/18. We also upgraded our QSDP to the DDP.

Welcome......pixiedust: I'm sure someone will be able to answer your questions. :goodvibes

Someone mentioned travel time in vehicle vs Disney buses. I thought I quoted it, but I guess not. Anywho... I have never taken a Disney bus, but we drove last time. I generally gave us 30 minutes from our room door to get where we wanted to be (park, other resort, etc.), but most of the time it only took us 10 - 15 minutes. We'll be driving this trip also. The only place we had an issue with was DTD. It took us 45 minutes to find a parking space. We'll drive or take a boat to DTD this year. We used a GPS program on our phones to guide us around. If I remember correctly, it was from mousesavers, but I'll have to check with DH to be sure.

Oh! One other tip for those who drive their own vehicles to the parks. I drive one of the most common vehicles sold, and sometimes there would be 5 of the same vehicle on a parking row. We put a small but noticeable local sports team sticker on the back glass. It made finding our vehicle on the row so much easier.

I think sometimes it is almost better to have them not that involved, then you get all the control!!!!!!! ;):lmao:

:thumbsup2 I couldn't agree more!

No, I keep checking mine too! :goodvibes

I stayed in two rooms last time (3 adults/2 kids), and will do the same this time also. It came about to about the same price. We had 4 full size beds and two full baths. We got connecting (door going through to both rooms) rooms, and I liked being able to close one door if the kids and I wanted to take a nap or if DMIL was snoring at night. :rolleyes1

As for the dessert party... look at the menus for the restaurants you are going to. I found that there were plenty of delicious desserts at the restaurants, not to mention all the snacks.. cupcakes, candy, etc. IMHO, I'd rather get a little something every day than all at once. On the other hand, I can see where the party would be very special. (I'm not much help, am I?)

Hi, I am new to DIS and I am planning a Nov. 24-Dec. 1 trip for my DD and me. First time as a single mom and I am SO EXCITED.:banana::banana:
It is going to be a surprise, even though my DD isn't a big fan of surprises.:scared1:

We are staying in POR Royal Room, garden view. I am plannning to attend the MVMCP on Nov. 29.

Hoping to get lots of great tips and advice.

Made some ADRs on Monday and got 'Ohana, Chef Mickey, and Akershus exactly when I wanted. Had to take Crystal Palace at a time I don't love, but I am going to check back for an 8:05 a.m. and hope it opens up. And I need a couple more. Hoping for Be Our Guest (with everyone else) and we might try Garden Grill.
