Now that my husbands' fondest wish came true (hoop de doo being open) maybe mine will too! (Typhoon Lagoon NOT going down for refurb the day we arrive!)

So are you wishing TL isnt going down or is it?

exwdwcm...thanks for the links and updates!Gotta question for ya, I guess I missed something, but why are there tarps at IASM? I thought they just redid all that not too long ago?

We really don't know. It was renovated last year. Many people are guessing they are doing some tweaks to the exterior to make it match even more with the new castle wall nearby etc. Not sure. And it appears they haven't painted the tarp/scrim either. Usually they do that shortly after it goes up. Makes me wonder if it won't be up there long.

Really frustrating with all the tarps and construction, but I know it is for a good cause. Being open 365 days a year makes it difficult to add new attractions and keep up maintenance. There is only so much work they can do overnight, especially with the longer summer hours and MK closing at 2 or 3am on some EMH nights, then opening at 8 or 9 the next day! By the time the park is completely cleared out, it is probably another 90 minutes or more after closing!

Success! Called again this morning to check on a FD pin and there it was. Got it applied to my reservation. Travel dates are November 15 through the 22nd.

Hmmm...the last time I called I may have mentioned that I wasn't going unless I could get the FD pin.

We're officially booked for Nov. 1-10, staying at AoA!

I'm hoping for some soft-opening opportunities in the FL expansion, but, really, I'm just happy we can go back and that, this time, we can see the Tiki Birds! It's my favorite, and it was still closed for refurb when we went in spring of last year -- my first time in 20+ years and my son's first time ever.
Now, I'm on to figuring out dining, including my birthday dinner! (And hoping for FD, especially since I added a day to match what look to be the qualifying dates...)

(On a side note, I'm having a hard time getting past the log-in screen on the Web site. Whenever I click on our reservation to look at the details, it circles right back to log-in. Is anyone else having this problem?)

Yes, I was just coming to add that we're doing MNSSHP on 11/2 and MVMCP on 11/9. That was the idea behind the timing of our trip -- to enjoy both holidays with Disney magic!

Now I just have to decide whether I'm keeping this trip a secret from the boy until we start our drive, or until we get there, or whether I spill the beans and ratchet up the excitement for the next four months! LOL

For those hoping to get the FD plan I strongly encourage you to give reservations a call and ask them if you can have it applied. I called completely on a whim to ask if it was going to be offered and at first she said No, but when I told her we are celebrating my daughters college graduation and the only way we can go is with the dining plan and that we hadn't been since 2006 and we were dying to get back, she somehow came up with the offer and applied it right then and there for me. Need less to say I was so estactic and excited and it was right at price we could afford. I am so happy right now and have most of my dining plans set - this is going to be one happy family come November!!

It doesn't hurt to call and ask. Let them know many of us have already been given the free DP it just may help. Good luck and let us know how you all make out.

I got MY first VB Hipster at the mall on Friday. It's a little smaller than my other bag, but I think it will work. I just love the Lime's Up pattern. Once I saw it in person, I knew I couldn't resist! I've only had VB Betsy's before, so as a purse it may take getting used to.... I'm so glad you like yours, too. Wish MY DD wanted one. She actually found one she liked a bit, I was going to get it and she changed her mind. Said she'd never use it. I have hoped for so long for her to start liking VB, but she just doesn't...

I'm now thinking of getting a VB hipster. I also like the lime's up pattern. Where would I find them at the mall? Do you know which stores sell them?
