November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

I requested building 7 facing the lake. I know it's only a request and there are no guarantees but I hope we don't end up in building 8, such a long walk!

Yesterday I got the road ID bracelet that I made for DS4 that has both DH's and my cell # in case he gets separated or something. I showed it to DS and tried to explain what it was for and I think I freaked him out with with the thought of him ever getting separated from us. Honestly until reading about it on the Dis we had never thought about this idea as our kids are practically glued to our side when we go somewhere crowded. And DH isn't too thrilled about the whole idea either (he thinks that would never happen to us) but I might still make DS wear it.

absolutely, there are alot of people there and anything could happen.

For those that have used the dis-designers which did you use for making t-shirts? I am NOT creative at all but want to try to make some. I was thinking Mickey heads with name and date. Or something princess for DD. I don't know where to begin :confused3 Help!!

i looked at their photobuckets and found designs i liked than just posted on their thread what i would like it to say. Some work faster than others so keep that in mind time wise

yeah its tough. SHe is 9 and now that she is getting old she understands it a little more and is able to explain it to me after she comes out of it. Its scary because she gets out of bed and is walking around, eyes open and talking but just does not see me. Sometimes she is screaming for me and doesnt realize im right there.

Wow I can't believe she's up and walking. That makes me so nervous! My DD sits up in her bed so far. We keep the gate on top of the stairs locked just incase. I hope things get better for your DD soon. Hopefully Disney will give them happy thoughts and they'll get some good sleep while on vacation!

yeah the first few times it really freaked me out because she looks fully awake, for some reason she is really afraid of the villians and i keep telling her they dont usually come out..i'm trying to find something that says that so she is less afraid. Disney makes them seem so bad..who wants to run into malificent walking down the street lol

I'm sooo excited!!! Maybe its the cooler weather thats reminding me how close November is. It's going to be a wonderful trip.

Oh and I have an Iphone 4 now. So I'll be able to use the disney apps at the park. Yay!

Oh someone posted a while back about an app they have that they get sent to do mystery shopping and get paid a small amount...anyone know the name of it?

Does she remember having them when she gets up in the morning? My 8 year old son has night terrors too and has NO idea what he does. He does not remember anything. He has even tried to go outside during them! Talking to him during them is also pointless because he doesn't hear you. They are so scary!

Decisions, decisions... WCC was our arrival day dinner, but i'm not so sure now. It was new for us, but i liked the options with the "old" menu better than the new menu. I don't wanna pore over menus again trying to find a different place to eat! (Actually, i don't mind, but i thought i was done with ADRs a month ago.)

Any recommendations for a WCC replacement? We don't have park tickets for this day, so Resorts or DTD are our options, and i'd like a little Disney fun since it's a prelude to my oldest & youngest dd's 1st trips.

she does somewhat, she knows that something happened because she is clearly not where she went to bed. i have explained to her before what she was doing just so she is aware and now she is able to tell me a little bit more of what she was seeing. So i think having a conversation about it has helped make it a little less scary for her..and me. Having your 9 year old screaming that she doesnt want to go because we are all to die is really scary.

Is anyone surprising their kids? My DD went for the first time two years ago when she was two and she can't wait to go back. She knows we are going but obviously doesn't understand exactly when so we were thinking of surprising her that morning when we wake her up to go. Her and I watched some videos of kids getting surprised and she loved it. Just wondering if anyone can share some ideas, suggestions, or their plans! Thanks!

We are!

We took DD1 for her 5th birthday 2 years ago and are taking DD2 for her 4th birthday. The girls think we are going for DD2's 5th birthday next year. Our plan is to pick up DD1 from school on Friday and drive straight from there. We haven't decided if we're going to tell the kids when we pick up DD1 or if we'll just let them figure it out when we pull into AoA. They are used to long car trips so it won't be a shock that we're taking a road trip, just where we end up. :cool1:

I'm so excited now I can't wait. :jumping1:

I am surprising DS7 also. Right now, the plan is to pick him up after school and surprise him with a trip to LegoLand. Little will he realize that we're staying at WDW and going all the places I asked him to just pick one of! At least until we get there (I hope). I haven't ironed out the details yet, but everyone who knows we're going knows to keep it a secret from him.

My kids know we're going and when. What they don't know is that we're staying in a lion king suite.

Great ideas guys! They are all going to be so surprised!! My DD wouldn't go too long in the car without asking where we are going! That's why we were thinking of just telling her as soon as we get up. Wasn't sure if we should just tell her or give her something Disney themed and let her figure it out.

Okay, so it's 3:23 and I haven't been asleep yet. My youngest daughter is at a hospital in Virginia having her baby...5 weeks early! I'm waiting for text updates. We live in Ohio, and I hate being so far away. I didn't sleep last night either and only got 3 hours of sleep today. I am totally wide awake. Yikes!

To make matters worse, my girls grandmother passed away last night (my ex's mother) here in Ohio and they (my 2 girls) had been planning a trip here for the funeral. Meanwhile, my older daughter's 5 year old has been running a fever of between 103 and 105 just since yesterday. So it's hard for her to plan whether to come here or not.

I won't go into all the details and logistical problems, but suffice it to say, it will be an interesting few days ahead for all of us. I don't tend to worry or get stressed about things, so I'm good there. It would just be good to have a couple of things settled for my girls' sakes. Thanks for listening to my middle-of-the-night ramblings! My DH is fast asleep and doesn't even know our daughter is in labor. He'll get a surprise when he wakes up in a couple of hours!:scared1:

Meanwhile, I'm watching House Hunters and Property Brothers

Just now reading this and sending prayers for all
