November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Oooh I wish I could help you decide, never being there doesn't give my opinions much weight but since I have a "collector" personality I would try a new one, just to try it!:goodvibes And by the time you get there all this planning should be long behind you and you'll be able to RUN!!!

Thank you and mommyof3princess27! I suppose in the end they are mostly the same so I should probably go with sports but I wanna try something new! Music it is! :hyper:

C'mon DxDP'ers!!! None of us are coming back 50 pounds heavier, all the energy we expend will cancel out all of the caloric intake automatically! :lmao:

i thought what happened in the world stayed in the world...im eating like a pig and coming back a princess lol :wizard:

:eek:I must be getting the 3 month itch....I am second guessing my resort reservations, my ADR's my daily outline. It is driving me NUTS!!!

I am worried about everything I have planned. I know that Disney is supposed to be a vacation and a relaxing time but who are we kidding????:lmao:

I am going crazy!

Yep..... its about time for that to happen. Don't let it get the upper hand. :lmao:

Just got an email that I thought I'd share with the folks on here. My company is signed up with a place called ticketsatwork.com. Basically your HR group gives you a code to sign up and they email you discounts from time to time. They also have different sales going on at various times on their site. They've currently got 10% off of both MNSSHP and MVMCP as well as some MYW tickets. The savings aren't tremendous, but if you can get it why not take it right? ::yes::

It should go without saying that I'm not affiliated with this site and don't make any money off of it. Just saw it and wanted to share.

interesting...now im thinking about mvmcp...oh no lol

I'm really surprised that, considering it's one of the busier weeks of the year, that there isn't any MVMCP during the Thanksgiving week. From Nov 17-23 there isn't anything special going on. No MVMCP, no CLP. :confused3 Considering that Thanksgiving has traditionally been the kickoff to Christmas in the rest of the world (although the Christmas Creep has happened more and more each year) I would think that would be a great time for it.

So, after my horribly complicated email yesterday I think my husband and I decided to forego AoA (maybe next trip?) and stay at one of the All Star resorts. Taxis and hassles would be too much while we are trying to relax to actually RUN the half that night. I've stayed at ASSp before so I am leaning towards one of the other ones but wanted some options from the Value lovers! It looks like All Star Movies is sold out of standard rooms so that one is out, but between Music and Sports which would you guys recommend?

Sports - I've stayed there before so I admit the 'lets stay everywhere once!' girl in me would be sad. But lets face it, I don't know when if ever we would stay here again - Movies would likely be WAY down my list even if I was trying to 'collect them all'. It IS the first stop on the bus route but there are no characters or anything else special about it.

Music - cuter theme, past reports of bed bugs. "new" in that I have never been here but it is #2 on the bus trail.

Movies - no standard rooms available, last on the bus route. Is there something awesome I should know?

WWYD? :worried:

I see you decided on Music. DH, DS and I stayed at Movies many years ago and just loved it. Everything about it. But, as I said it was quite a while ago. I think you'll be happy at Music. Good decision!:thumbsup2

I think everyone should do the MVMCP at least once!:santa:

Okay. I debated about whether to share this with you all since this is a happy thread, but I really need to. My Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's yesterday. It doesn't come as a huge shock of course. There have been signs. But to have it actually confirmed was a bit more emotional for me than I had expected. I moved recently to be closer to my parents, so I will be quite involved with everything. I have one sister who lives in Texas, but that's a good thing. Anyway, I just needed to tell someone...and you all are the someone. Thanks for listening.:flower3:

On a happy note, my 3 year old granddaughter has been delighting me since Monday evening when they arrived from Virginia. She loves Disney music (and movies) and we have been dancing up a storm together!:goodvibes

I'm sorry. Finding out bad news is always heartbreaking even if you have an idea. My dad which is 51 is getting going to the Dr. About it next week. Alzheimer's runs on his dads side pretty heavily. A book suggested to me was called "Still Alice". I can't remember the author but I will look it up. Atleast you have your granddaughter to brighten the mood :)

My grandfather was diagnosed with it and since he had a sense of humor about most everything he joked about it early on. He told me the best part about having Alzheimers was that he would make new friends every day! :)

I'll add ya to my prayer list and wish you the best.

Very sorry about your mother, you'll have a long road ahead of you but there is lots of support out there, including this forum

Well it only took 3 calls to get someone to figure out what I was asking. . .

But I got our room switch to the 25% discount instead of FD and it saves on the package price $1400. So I now have to cancel some ADRs cause we wont have to eat as much as we were before. Still doing the happy dance. I get to stay delux and hubby gets to pay less :)

Wow! That's young! My Mom's Dad, brother and sister all had it. Yes, I look for the blessings and she is definitely a wonderful one!:)

Awww, thanks so much! I was joking with her this afternoon about it a bit and it seemed to sit well with her. She really thought they were going to tell her there was a magic pill to take and everything would be better. Denial is fairly common I believe.:(

Thanks! That's very encouraging.::yes::

Hope everyone made out okay from the storms. Haven't heard from any of those who were expecting it, so hopefully no news is good news.:goodvibes

I'm 2.5 hrs west of New Orleans. We're supposed to get the "eye" of the storm in a few hours, but it's no longer a hurricane, so i'm not sure exactly what we're going to get... So far just lots of wind, strong gusts at times, and light rain. We've still got power & DirecTV, too! Now if i could just stop myself from wanting to dive into every bit of food in this house!!!

I am so very sorry for your news. But I can share a little bit of my story, for what it's worth. In 2000 my Dad was diagnosed with a disease similar to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), I lived with my parents so I started doing more & more for him and by 2004 I had to quit my job to stay home to take care of him and he passed away in 2007. The 7 years that we (my mom, my dad & I) were so focused on each other, while very stressful at times, were truly the happiest we had ever all been together. I have siblings and there was some help but I was truly the primary care giver and I wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world. Of course, not a day goes by that I don't miss my daddy, he was my best friend after all (even before he got sick).

I read Patti Davis' book (The Long Goodbye) about her father President Reagan's battle with Alzheimers and although it didn't fit my situation exactly it was a very very helpful book to read at the time.

God Bless you at this very difficult time.

Oh and I also know that my 3 1/2 year old daughter keeps my Mom feeling younger and has been the absolute best thing that has happened to us since losing my daddy. Your grandchild will probably do the same for you!
