November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

You're right the Poly does have a very devoted following! People on that board talk about Poly only stays, no parks, it must be awesome over there. We're doing a split stay this time (originally I was all Poly but the discount moved me:rotfl:) We're doing the first half at GF and the second half at Poly. Our next trip I am planning on another split stay with a couple nights at CR and then the bulk of the trip at WL, congratulations Smileybrainwasher!

ld lan a Hubby and me trip to stay at WL LOL

So far I have a dole whip (i gotta see for myself why everyone talks about this), cupcakes, a chocolate dipped rice krispy treat, hopefully some fun holiday treats at MVMCP, churros, and we are going to have our first mickey ice cream bars. I used to go all the time when I was younger and never had one... Oops. I can't wait to see my kids enjoying one for the first time... I'm sure my son will be a hot mess after having it in his hands for 5 seconds. Is there anything else I am missing? I am hoping to get some of this stuff to take home and enjoy since we won't be able to eat all this is 2 days.

1). For the dipped rice krispies, try the white chocolate! I am a total chocoholic, white ain't normally my thing (the darker the better), but the white chocolate really compliments the rice Krispy.

2). If you can find a cream cheese filled pretzel GET ONE:). They are AWESOME. They used to have them at Scuttle's preconstruction, so I am hoping they show up in FLE. There is a stand in Tomorrowland that has them (name escapes me). My 13 year old is already asking about them again, I think it is his all time yummy favorite.

3). I read the zebra domes at AKL are incredible, so that is #1 on my to try list:)

Don't forget your wet wipes for the ice cream bars. I lol on the hot mess child. My youngest is 11, and he STILL manages to end up a mess:)

Bon Appetite

Here's a few things on my list so far: cookie fudge sundae at Storybook Treats in MK, the homemade ice cream sandwiches you'll find these at all the parks but make sure they are the ones with fresh baked cookies not the prepackaged ones! Chocolate-Covered Sea Salt Caramel at Karamell Kuche in Epcot, yummy! Aloha Isle Dole Whip Float. Rice Krispie Treat dipped in white chocolate covered in crushed Oreos drizzled with milk chocolate at Goofy's Candy Company! That's a good start anyway...more to come!

im jealous...all these great desserts im gonna miss out on :( i have a weird food allergy and cant eat most sweets unless i make them myself.

Well, just got off the phone with Disney. Had a AWESOME CM that really listened to my concerns about the DxDP. We went through every scenerio know to man with Room only discount, Free Dining, Paying oop. I had already gone through my ADR list and marked off what we would give up so I knew going in how many credits we still needed for the 9 days. :thumbsup2 As it turns out keeping the trip as is, is our best deal. :goodvibes

I have a disease which limits what I CAN have but desserts doesnt effect me thank goodness BUT alot of other regular everyday food does which stinks. :headache: BUT with taking steriod meds i have to limit my sweets as I will blow up really fast...im already a little over weight so I dont need to add to that!:rolleyes1

YAY! Im sorry but I was secretly hoping youd stay a DxDP'er with me;) :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Just got an email that I thought I'd share with the folks on here. My company is signed up with a place called ticketsatwork.com. Basically your HR group gives you a code to sign up and they email you discounts from time to time. They also have different sales going on at various times on their site. They've currently got 10% off of both MNSSHP and MVMCP as well as some MYW tickets. The savings aren't tremendous, but if you can get it why not take it right? ::yes::

It should go without saying that I'm not affiliated with this site and don't make any money off of it. Just saw it and wanted to share.

So, after my horribly complicated email yesterday I think my husband and I decided to forego AoA (maybe next trip?) and stay at one of the All Star resorts. Taxis and hassles would be too much while we are trying to relax to actually RUN the half that night. I've stayed at ASSp before so I am leaning towards one of the other ones but wanted some options from the Value lovers! It looks like All Star Movies is sold out of standard rooms so that one is out, but between Music and Sports which would you guys recommend?

Sports - I've stayed there before so I admit the 'lets stay everywhere once!' girl in me would be sad. But lets face it, I don't know when if ever we would stay here again - Movies would likely be WAY down my list even if I was trying to 'collect them all'. It IS the first stop on the bus route but there are no characters or anything else special about it.

Music - cuter theme, past reports of bed bugs. "new" in that I have never been here but it is #2 on the bus trail.

Movies - no standard rooms available, last on the bus route. Is there something awesome I should know?

WWYD? :worried:

I don't have an allergy to sweets, but I am finding a distinct intolerance for dairy, which really stinks because I love so much that has dairy in it. I haven't completely been able to pinpoint the exact nature of it, but organic dairy doesn't seem to bother me like non-organic does. I'll likely be avoiding many of the ice cream snacks like Mickey Bars and Dole Whips as a result though.

I'm not reading, I'm not reading, I refuse to read. :rotfl: Oh my goodness ......:lmao:

On the other hand, you won't come back 50 pounds heavier like the rest of us! :rotfl2:

I'm so afraid of this. ::yes::

Kind of. I liked the other way...knowing we have seats for F! BUT I did wanna try BOG and the kids are excited. They get resort swim time AND more DTD time. If it were up to me, I would have left it BUT knowing I cant eat the food at MM...it seemed like a waste. It still sort of bothers me but afterall this trip is for my daughter and her bday:) so whatever she wants is fine with me:badpc: I just am trying to make it happen LOL. I do have the girls' BOG dresses already so thats a plus. I would have left it the other way IF I knew it was gaurranteed to get into BOG for lunch. I just cant bring myself to cancel the other MM ressie yet. I cant do it LOL. I should but I cant. I will soon though:goodvibes

We have both dairy allergy and milk protein allergies in our family. And unfortunatley they are both ice cream fanatics! Have you ever tried the "lactaid" family of supplements? They work wonders for both my DH and DD. They are able to eat ice cream and such with almost no problem. Good luck I know all too well how frustrating dealing with this is.

C'mon DxDP'ers!!! None of us are coming back 50 pounds heavier, all the energy we expend will cancel out all of the caloric intake automatically! :lmao:

Oooh I wish I could help you decide, never being there doesn't give my opinions much weight but since I have a "collector" personality I would try a new one, just to try it!:goodvibes And by the time you get there all this planning should be long behind you and you'll be able to RUN!!!

:lmao: I so understand you. Here I am being the one complaining about to much food and too many ADRs and too much time in resturants. And I haven't cancelled a single ADR yet. :lmao::lmao::lmao::blush::faint: :confused3:rotfl2:

I just feel for anyone with food allergies. :grouphug:

And that is what I keep telling myself. And besides.....Calories do not count in Disney!! :rotfl2:

FWIW, Disney restaurants are the most accommodating places for food allergies. Back when my youngest was 2 1/2, he had all sorts of food allergies & tummy troubles that go along with ASD. When I made ADRs, I had them make a note about special dietary needs, called 1 week before per CM instruction to confirm issues (or the chef from our ressie called me). When we showed up to eat, the chef came out to greet us, went over allergies a 3rd time, and prepared food in special cookware (to avoid cross-contamination), and Aidan had breads, desserts, the whole lot! He was gluten, cassein, soy, yeast, etc. free at the time. It took over two & a half years of strict elimination diet for things to improve.

Hope that Helps!

:eek:I must be getting the 3 month itch....I am second guessing my resort reservations, my ADR's my daily outline. It is driving me NUTS!!!

I am worried about everything I have planned. I know that Disney is supposed to be a vacation and a relaxing time but who are we kidding????:lmao:

I am going crazy!
