November 2012 Code Watch!!

Prior to the November 2012 calendar coming out, I was referring to last years calendar to do some pre-planning for the week of Thanksgiving. Now that the November 2012 calendar has been released, I notice the main difference between the November 2011 and 2012 calendar is that November 2012 only has one Fantasmic performance each night at 6:30, but in 2011 there were two performances: 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Also, there is only one performance of the Main Street Electrical Light Parade at 9:00 p.m., but in 2011 there was also a performance at 11:00 p.m. Does anyone know if it is typical of Disney to wait until closer to November to add Fantasmic and Electrical Light Parade performances or if it is to be assumed there will only be one performance per night of these specific attractions?

I'm not surprised at all that they have gone lean on the night entertainment. It's really common for them to add more when it gets closer to the date.

I called and they found a PIN for my family. We saved some $$ which was good. Had to adjust the days we were going because of school. We now will be checking in on Sunday 11/18 and out on Friday 11/23. Looking forward to it. Now waiting to see if the others in our group decides if they are going.

Hi! I was wondering if you could share what the pin discount was and also, are you taking your kids out of school for the week? I live in NJ so my dd8 is out for three half days and two full days BUT I am reading about the crowds during Jersey Week and I am getting scared. I ask myself what is the difference between taking her out 3 1/2 days and 5 days. Not much, I'm thinking, to beat crowds. Then we could go the week AFTER Jersey Week.

Anyone can weigh in on what they think? My daughter will be in 3rd grade.

Thanks!

We will be taking our first family DISNEY trip November 23-30th!!!! I am so excited. Our son will be almost two and I cannot wait to see him react to Disney.

As of now we are not planning on staying on property unless we are able to get a discount. I need to wait and see if they extend the Military discounts... as of now they cut off at the end of September 2012. Anyone know when they will announce if they extend?

If anyone has any discounts and wants to share I would love to know what is available.

Anybody ever eat at Yak and Yeti or O'Hana dinner? I have O'hana for breakfast listed....wanna add dinner. I think now we have almost all new places to eat!

We ate at Yak and Yeti the first year it opened and loved it! Everything was yummy, and Asia is my favorite part of AK, so I LOVED to theme of the place.

We just ate dinner at Ohana for the first time on our last trip, and I was underwhelmed. We were seated in the back room - away from the games and entertainment - which probably didn't help. The food was OK, but I felt like it wasn't worth the cost. (We paid out of pocket.) If we ate there again, I'd request a table in a different area.

I plan to try it for breakfast this trip.

I'm not sure, but it was a $200+ difference than what I got online.

Not yak and Yeti but OHana yes and I think it's great! Make a reservation as soon as you can because they get snapped up FAST! :)

Wasn't a big fan of Ohana dinner....until we got to dessert.;)

And the Lapu Lapu was a nice touch too...

Dinner was just so so..breakfast was good though..love the Mickey waffles.:cool1:

Good morning....just a silly dining question that I think I know the answer to just want to double check! We will be short 1 table service credit per person because DH wants to try Le Cellier this trip. For the day we have no table service credit DH still wants to eat at a table service restaurant and pay out of pocket. I still need to make a reservation even though we will pay for the meal, correct? TIA!

Just a head's up that Josh's November Crowd Calendar is up. :woohoo: Heading down the 10-17th, for those who've been do MVMCP, do you expect a big diff. in crowd levels from the Thur. party that week vs. the Fri. party? Fri. would work so much better for our schedule as we leave the next day so easy to make it a "sleep in/resort" morning after the party. But of course don't want to be creamed by crowds after paying the $$ to attend. Would you completely avoid Fri. or should it not be much different than Thur. since they're only a day apart?

I also seen this and can't wait for the daily analysis. Right now we are pretty much on the same page when it comes to parks to visit/avoid so I hope he doesn't make too many changes. I am also excited to see he is predicting Osborne Lights to start on the 9th. :cool1: I am really looking forward to them.

Yup. :thumbsup2

Enjoy LeCellier..we always do.

You sound like me! The first time we went we were not in the main dining room and it was sort of boring, and my kids felt left out of the fun. The food was just ok, but the bread & the dessert was amazing! I loved my Lapu Lapu too!

The last time we went we sat in the main dining area and it was better. I think the food was better that time too. It's still not a must do for us though, but I will tell you what is, Kona Cafe. Have you been there? We love everything about it.

It's a sad day for me. I just realized that there will not be a MVMCP while we are there.:sad1: They are having one the night that we check out. This means I may just have to add another day or start heading back home after the party, or save all of the cost from that and forget about it. Not sure what to do. :upsidedow This is our very first time to go during the holidays so I wanted to make it extra special.

We liked Kona too...I had some kind of Asian prepared Mahi Mahi...very good...

Definitely need to do MVMCP once...but in my opinion, for the price, not worth rearranging your schedule...just my opinion. MNSSHP was better.

Osborne Lights, however, is incredible...and free. :thumbsup2

If it were me, I would either add a day or (are you driving?) head home after. I HAD to make it work last year. I loved it because I love Christmas time at Disney!!! They had one one Fri and Sunday (we arrived fri and left monday morn) I should have gone with the sunday one but went with the friday one-it was PACKED!:sad2: but still fun :thumbsup2 We are doing it this trip too!I would add a day now vs later if you are going too, it will be easier. OR if you are diving, you could stay over night outside of Orlando. Or if you are flying, fly home the next day and stay at the airport hotel or an extra night at disney :upsidedow can u tell I m trying to persuade u into going to the party :cheer2:

So glad that Josh got that info out today!! But dang! I have a full day and can't just sit and work on it!! Oh well, maybe tonight!!!!!! Y'all have fun planning today--think about me!:goodvibes

I went ahead and scheduled for on property (I love staying on property!). I am also awaiting an extension of the mil discount. Last year I believe it was about Aug when they extended it out for the year. I'd happily take that or Free Dining... either will work for us :) You always have 45 days to cancel so I just do our reservations, dining & hope it works out! :thumbsup2 As of right now I've only seen discounts thru calling & having an individual PIN... which I have never had :confused3

I finally have a tentative plan after crunchin numbers for a couple of days. if FD follows the same patten of the last 3years and ends the Thursday before thanksgiving we will be able o extend our stay to 8 nights at AoA. Here is the plan based on that:
