Nevermind..got 'em....

Now...should I do Tusker House breakfast on an early open for AK?

I would recommend doing the Tusker House breakfast on a day the park doesn't open early for EMH. You'll have the advantage of being pretty far into the park when it opens, giving you better chances of being able to walk right on to the Safari, or Expedition Everest. I would aim for the earliest ADR of 8 am, but you'd still have the advantage of being there early even if you got one for 8:30. :thumbsup2

Breakfast is a must do for my crew...DW and I love it..our kids love it..and their kids love it..good filling breakfast right before digesting while riding on the Safari..

Characters are great there too...

Earliest ADR on a regular open sounds like a plan for all 11 of us...:scared1:

Could I get some opinions on dates? I've been going back and forth between 11/3-11/10 and 11/10-11/17. We've gone twice the week before thanksgiving and it was great but I'm concerned about crowds due to veteran's day. The first week, the kids are already off of school two days so they wouldn't miss as much but then again, that's Jersey week, right? I'm also wondering if one of these weeks would have a better chance of having FD or at least a room discount. What to do, what to do??? Now that the hours are released, I'm anxious to start planning! :)

Oh, and as much as I enjoy seeing the Christmas decor, we've seen it a few times so I'm really not trying to use that in the decision process. Thanks for any advice!

I am SO EXCITED to see your tentative schedule! We are going the exact same days!!! I may just copy off of you a little bit! We are staying at the Beach Club (our first time there) and are excited to be at Epcot's back door. We went 2 years ago during Jersey Week and the crowds were a BIT larger than the first time we went that was NOT Jersey Week, but it still beats the crowds and the heat of summer! :sunny:

Just wanted to say congrats on getting the BC!! This is our favorite Epcot area resort...you will fall in love with it! And walking into Epcot thru the backdoor is the best thing EVER!!!!

Hi! We are in the same boat! This will be our 3rd year in a row to go this same week (11-10 thru 11-17)..we usually go thru that next Sunday, but last year we decided to cut it a day and leave on Sat because the crowd increase is so noticeable. It was just an extra day for us to hang around and relax anyway, so we just hang out a little at the resort, eat lunch then leave! But, I too was concerned about the crowd the weekend before!! We usually come in that Sat, do HDDR (which is closed this year), or hang around our resort. we have to get up at the crack of Dark for our flights and drive almost 2 hours to the airport, so we are tired by dinner time! Then Sun we do MK because everyone is atEpcot for the end of F&W...Mon we do Epcot cuz NO one is over there!! I have looked at other dates though..the week before, but with it being Jersey week I am really not sure...I even checked things for the last 2 weeks of October. But, we have been during that time, and the diff in the heat/humidity is enough that I dont want to do that unless there is no other option....*Can you tell I am talking to myself too here!!* :rotfl: So, Now that I have convinced myself that I think the week of the 10th is still a good bet- I am gonna advice you to do that week too! You do have school days to consider-but it that doesn't bother with your decision, I say go then too.

If you go 11/3-11/10, I believe you will run into crowds from not only Jersey Week, but also Food and Wine, which I think ends on 11/11. We are going the 11-18 and according to touringplans.com, the crowds will be much lower that week.

Thanks! I forgot to add that the crowd calendar does show a decrease in # this week!!:yay: And,like I said, this will be the 3rd time for us to go this week--the Vet Day thing just threw me..but it's not enough to warrant a change for the whole week.

I am not sure if I asked this before--have any of you with 2 or 3 kids stayed at POR? We love, love, love the BC and it's where we are going this time-depending on discounts. If we don't get anything that is helpful to us as a fam of 5, we would look at doing the POR. Also, my oldest son may not go this year, so the rooms at POR wouldn't be so tight-but if he does go, I just wondered how that would work....I am sure with any discount available, my hubby is gonna pick the BC!!!

We have stayed at POR with 4 adult sizes in 1 room and it was fine...this year we are staying at POFQ..11 of us in 3 rooms...8 adults and 3 grandsons..hopefully we still like each other after the trip.

As you can see from my profile, I've been on the dis for years but don't post often (I'm easily intimidated, lol!) and still haven't figured out how to double quote. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the advice on trip dates! I completely forgot about food and wine. Epcot is our favorite park but we probably wouldn't be sampling anything. If we used our snack credits on anything but mickey ice cream bars, the kids would be devestated :rotfl:

Yay on the crowd calendar, just hope it stays that way!

I have 2 kids but we've stayed at POR on our last 2 trips and I'm planning on booking one of the new royal guest rooms. We really love this resort and are looking forward to checking out the new rooms! When we stayed before, we requested AB because of the trundle bed and it worked out great. Now that there will be queen beds, I think we'll be fine on the mansion side. But I've never stayed at BC but would love to...so I'm not help, lol!

If you look down on each person's post in the bottom right hand corner where the "quote" button is, right next to it is a little button that you just click and it will turn orange...then you do that for every person's post that you want to quote and THEN hit the reply button! It took me a while to figure it out too! :goodvibes

What crowd calendar are you guys looking at to plan? We have to go "Jersey Week", as DS's are out the Monday & Tuesday that week.

Last time we were there it was Thanksgiving week, so I'm hoping even though Jersey Week will be crowded, since we're used to Thanksgiving crowds this'll seem easy. ;)

So...is does everyone agree that it looks like the LAST MNSSHP will be on Friday, November 2nd? Our dates are the 2-7th and we had HOPED to go to MVMCP but it doesn't look like that will happen.

So what are your thoughts on MNSSHP?? I'm sure that last date (and on a Friday) will be a sell out. Will it be c-r-a-z-y there?? We should be to our resort by early afternoon (flight lands at 11:50).

We always go in summer, so this would be our first experience at an after hours party!

We loved the MNSSHP..been twice..went to MVMCP last year..we didnt like it as much..will probably revisit the MNSSHP when my grandsons get a little older...

It's an event you should see once..the parade and fireworks are really good...

Just how bad is it during Thanksgiving week run up...we are coming down the 15th through the 23rd...leaving Friday after T-giving....any thoughts??? We HAVE to come at this time because of college aged daughter...but I have to say...as I read...I'm freaking out that we will hardly get to ride anything. We usually come Veterans Day week...and LOVE it then.......now I'm getting freaked out.

we have done thanksgiving week 3 times in the last 4 years. itis very busy, but doable if you can do rope drop and expect to get most of your major riding done before lunch or close to closing. We rode everything we wanted to without a problem.

The breakfast is soooooo good! I loved it sooooooo much!!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :cloud9: :cloud9:

I never thought about doing this! Both the days I want to do AK, its been EMH BUT now that I am not taking my grandmother to Fantasmic, maybe I can move AK around to where we can get an 8am ADR but that is hard to do especially if its early in your vacation, it may be booked already. I can only try though!

Well I was originally going to go the 10th-17th but decided against it because not only is it Jersey week, its Veterans day weekend, the F&W half marathon and its festival of the masters.

Did you do the week OF Thanksgiving or the week AFTER Thanksgiving??? We are arriving the Sunday following Thanksgiving and will not go to a park that day. I dont do well when the crowd calander says a 10 :scared1:
