Awesome!! This will be our third trip with our DDs (6) but our first time staying on property! I can't wait - the girls still don't know, I think we are going to wait and surprise them!
Have you stayed at POR previously? We don't know much about the resort, so I'm stalking the boards.

Seriously? You tell me this now, when ADR time is right around the corner
BUT, he'd rather not go in November..well, that's when my vacation is and I'm NOT going in the dead of Summer when it's hot and overcrowded! I want to do Christmas time in disney. So, now, what do you all think? Is it doable to plan a disney vaca now for Disney with ADR's right around the corner?

Honey, no worries. ADR time is definitely NOT right around the corner. I'm fairly certain that you can't make ADR until the end of May. You have months to plan.

Well, my hubby and I are going Nov.24th - Dec.1st. Look at my tickers....My ADR window is still 3 months out. You have plenty of time. Have fun planning.

I have a problem. Everytime I come in here and someone is talking about TP. I know this is refering to Touring Plans. But I always read it as TP...Toilet Paper.

If I have a AAA discount, can I still get Free dining on top of that. Or will it take off the AAA? We're going to be getting AAA anyway, but this would make it even cooler.

But odds are if you are in November, your ADR start time is sometime in May (mine is May 11th for a Nov 7th check in date)

Good morning, y'all! It is a nasty, rainy day here. We had hail about an hour ago. Tornado warnings keep flashing on the TV, and the kids are scared. DD does not like bad weather.

I have been playing with the idea of only booking restaurants that don't require the credit card guarantee. On every trip, we've had to cancel at least one reservation due to someone not feeling well, and it looks like so far Disney has been very strict on applying the cancellation fee.

There are still quite a few restaurants to choose from, and we'd get to experience some new places. But I would certainly miss my beloved Crystal Palace.

Without a doubt, I'll be scheduling less reservations, and we'll plan to eat more counter service.

You know, I hadn't even considered that, but I don't think I could get away with that. The kids would not let me get away with not scheduling Crystal Palace, Tusker House, etc. We didn't have to cancel any ADRs on our last trip so I guess we'll just take our chances.

You have plenty of time. Get started now! Order your free planning CD and Disney maps, and break out your planning stuff! Christmas in Disney is magical.

I have heard some many different things on this. I've heard that the AAA discount really isn't a discount, but a rate code and therefore FD can be used with it, but not room discounts. I've also heard that you can do FD with the AAA discount. My advice would be to call your AAA travel agent.

No unfortunately, you cannot combine any two discounts. You have to choose which is the better deal, which more than likely will be free dining, compared to AAA.

Just wanted to clarify, we booked directly through AAA in 2010. We were told that no other discounts can be combined with AAA. You need to choose the best deal. But I guess YMMV, like it does with central reservations. Different travel agent may equal different answer.

I believe as a rule, it's six months before you arrive. You can make ADRs at that mark.

Thanks. The bad weather passed and we are fine. It really messed up the Mardi Gras parades yesterday, but today is an absolutely beautiful day.

I called WDW a little bit ago to get package quotes and the lady I talked to said that Disney doesn't normally do free dining in the fall
Why wouldn't they? It's the slowest time! Last year they had it, because I had it. She said they normally announce free dining in Aug/Sept. Has anyone heard anything?
