I don't know why but I am waiting for the trip to hit the year mark to really start to jump on things. I just feel like once we hit a year, time will start to move.

Me too! Our grand gathering has a secret FB group where I can talk about our trip, I keep counting it down. I cant wait til the ONE YEAR hits!!!

So on a whim I decided to check Airtrans website to see if there were any price drops. My flights both dropped $4! Not a lot mind you. DH didnt want me to call for $4 but I am glad I did! I got a credit of $25.52 ! Thats half of the dessert party money!

Yea i was looking at that too. Our trip this time makes the FD more of a deal than the room discount BUT that being said, even a 20% discount would save us $281 and FD would save us $981 lol FD wins! Lets just hope they offer it!

Hello everyone. I have not had a chance to read all of the posts in this thread but I wanted to add myself to the group. I just got back from 10days at Disney last week and then today I went ahead and booked for next year. I have booked for dd(13)'s fall school break. We will arrive on Nov 3 and head home on my 40th bday...Nov 11!!! It will be me, dh, dd(13) and dd(11) at Port Orleans Riverside with the dining plan. It's all set, all I have to do now is come up with the money!!! LOL!!!

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited. DH, 2DD's, a grandma, a grandpa, and me -- just booked for a 9 day trip starting November 23, 2012. Already thinking about what and when to see, eat, and do. I love the anticipation. First time visiting in Christmas season and can't wait to experience all the holiday stuff and decorations. Anyone been this time before? Will weather be ok for swimming?

We have been considering taking a trip to WDW during the Thanksgiving hoildays. Yesterday, I priced out a trip beginning on Thanksgiving and ending on Sunday, the 27th. I used the special offer link even though my starting date wasn't listed. Imagine my surprise when I was able to get the discount starting on the 24th. Now I just have to talk my husband into going.

I have only seen video of it, but I can't wait to see them in person. If the food isn't great (or good even), it's not like we'll starve since we'll be on the DlxDDP.

I think my DH would make himself sick trying to eat 1/4 of a 20" round cookie cake. We just finished off my 7" pumpkin cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factor. He tried to get himelf 1/4 of it. I took it from him, and cut it into 8 equal pieces and told him he could have a normal human size and have some, or try and take a David-sized piece and get none. I did cave and give him 1/2 my slice b/c I could tell that I wasn't going to be able to finish it. He wanted some right after we ate, so I couldn't finish it.
I see you daughter's name is Peyton. When I worked in daycare, we had a girl named Peyton. One of the other ladies that worked their always called her Princess Pey-pey. Everytime, I read about your daighter, I think Princess Pey-pey.

Videos can't even do justice to the lights. They are extraordinary. You will LOVE them! Yeah, there's not even any starving on the regular DP.

Looks like Disney is offering a room discount for Nov 2011. I've done my homework. If the 2011 discount rate of 20% applies for 2012, our savings will be about $300 or so. We'll have to pay for our meals OOP. And I have a feeling we will be spending more than $300 on food. This being the case, FD might be a better deal for us now. Since we're booked at a value resort, it'll be the QS dining plan. Think we might have to add a few TS meals OOP. Hmmm...

Yay. Welcome! I'm jealous of your NINE day trip. We were there for Thanksgiving 2010, too, and it was FABULOUS! That's why we're doing it again next year. None of us swam, but I *think* the weather would have been warm enough for it.....

I read earlier in the thread that FD for November 2011 didn't come out until August and my overplanning self would *definitely* have to have airfare booked way before then. I would be a ball of nerves if I waited until August to book airfare and the trip!

Although I priced out airfare for November 2011 and it was cheap!

Anywho this is semi-daydreaming planning so far.

Would you be able to book the trip(you said it was cheap)and then wait for free dining? We are planning to go anyway, our trip (Im gonna put this out there for what ever reason) was $3868 that is 8 days/7 nights at POR royal themed rooms, water park and more and 7 day base tix with the reg dining plan. I priced a value and I priced a deluxe. Deluxe was over $6000 and a value no lie was $3500 we have 5 in our family (3 DD's) so if we stayed value, it would be cheaper but I dont like the value resorts. Nothing against them, I just dont find them attractive-except for POP but they dont have 5 ppl rooms. The Royal rooms only hold 4 so DD12 will be in my parents room. I we go with the mod/Royal room, Dmom and DDad will pay for her. If we switch resorts, we have to pay. So for me, POR is worth it lol

If we are able to get FD, our trip cost would come down to $2900, which is alot of $$$ off. I am still holding out for FD. If we miss it, I hope there will be a Room only discount, its better than nothing. If we dont get anything, we will still go, it just may cut down on our spending money. I hope not cuz now DD wants to do the Dessert party 'next time we go' our trip is still a surprise and she doesnt know.
