When can we expect to hear about discounts for Nov 2012?

I thought you had to have at least a 1 day park ticket to get the free dining. I may be wrong, but that's what I thought.
I was looking at my email confirmation and it had a lot of stuff on it that there is no way that we will be using in November. The only one we might use, is the spa voucher, but it doesn't say what the dollar value is. Maybe I could sneak off and use the spa voucher and the DH and DSs can be using the arcade tokens. There is no way that we would use the fishing or water craft vouchers in November. I'm sure the boys can suffer through using the arcade tokens.

@ letthewookiewin: I was thinking the same thing... we won't use all that stuff either. So I guess I'll call Disney tomorrow and see if I can get some answers.

I thought you had to book a package in order to take advantage of free dining.

Good question.

I guess I will find out if purchasing 1 park ticket for each family member would make it a package.

I'll post what I find out tomorrow.

Yep, you have to purchase at least a 1-day ticket to do the package, and subsequent days are less and less money per day,so I think it works out. Definitely less hassle just getting them all through Disney. We have NEVER used any of the extras that come in that coupon book thingie......

Maybe y'all can help me with setting our tentative dates. We usually enjoy taking a longer 10-12 day Disney trip and only go once every 3 years. This trip we plan on taking my mil and fil.....but we also want a few days for ourselves.
Our kids get out the week of Thanksgiving. We are planning on arriving on 11/17, booking the Poly, then the in-laws will arrive on Tuesday and we will rent DVC points from a friend.

Looking at Free Dining this past year, you had to check in on Friday before Thankgiving week. Should I plan on arriving on 11/16 in hopes of getting that discount? I know our airfare will be booked before this is announced, so if it isn't announced.....I will need to book a cheap room for that night. I don't really want to add another day of dining and expensive hotel if we get in at midnight.

What is our best bet? There doesn't seem to be very many discounts this time period.

Maybe you could stay at the airport for the night. I am not sure I havent had that problem, im just hoping we get a discount at all! Hopefully we will know something!

If DME is still running at that time, you could stay at PC. Then if they don't have FD, you can change to the airport hotel.

My hubby, mom and myself want to take my little sisters so baffle but by then it will be us my 2 18 year old sisters and I will have a 6month old...crazy I know...lol we were thinking of getting two rooms that join in pofq just so we have some more space...hopefully we can get free dining because with my calculations we will be saving 2,000$! We will be driving so no worries about the flight. I am just so excited to book this. We want to surprise them with this trip for Xmas this year so we have time to plan all together, and so they have some reason to keep there grades p and not miss class...they will only be missing 1.5 days of class. Ok well that's enough from me! Can't wait to see the deals!

Hello! Ah, a 10-12 day trip sounds heavenly to me! Going with my ILs, though, would make it hellish!

Wow! I honestly didn't even think we could hope for free dining for Thanksgiving week. And I'm so disappointed.....we went last year as well. Checked in on Saturday. Do you mean to tell me, if we had checked in on Friday, we could have had Free Dining for our trip?! I am literally feeling SICK that we missed out on that! UGH!

We went for Thanksgiving 2010. It was crazy busy, but we obviously loved it since we're doing it again next year! The weather was just PERFECT and we so enjoyed all the Christmas decorations. Truly our most magical trip ever! I say go for it!

I know Im nosey I cant help it its just a little over 2 months til I am at this years MVMCP and I am excited. Even though its a very short trip(we get there friday evening and come back monday evening) its a get away Besides I have to do research for nxt years trip while I am there atleast thats what I told DH

For us we put money away with our income tax on a Disney gift card so I can't spend it. I then keep adding to it as much as I can Dh works 1 weekend extra a month for Disney money. Then I just keep adding to it as I go . Good luck

I start saving for the next trip actually while I'm on the currant trip. I always save any change, one's, and usually 5's. If I think I can get away with it the 10's go into savings as well. I also coupon so that savings is deducted and put in the Disney fund. Ya'll know what they say......If hubby doesn't know about it..............

Research......yep can never do enough research at Disney.

There are several ways that we are paying for our trip. I have a huge piggy bank that I am saving change and paper money up to $20s in. All of our change goes into it. Then at the end of the week I go through DH's wallet and take every other $1 and $5 bills and put it in the pig. Then every week when my DH gets paid, I put a $20 into it. It's a green pig with pink Mickey heads on it. Then my DSs painted blue squiggles and swirlies on it and in the same blue on the Mickey heads we put the year of each WDW trip we've taken. Also in blue on each leg, it has one of our names and bdays. Any birthday or Christmas money goes into the pig as well. Then we use our tax returns. Lastly, and I know I shouldn't do this part, but we are going to use school money for this next trip. I'm going to take a few less hours than I get financial aid for, but I'm still going to max out my funds, so that I get a refund. I know that when you do this your supposed to use it for living expenses, but if I don't get to WDW I'm going to go .
