Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes
I hope it is a beautiful day in your neighborhood. :thumbsup2

They will be DD 8--two weeks shy of 9 (we're just squeezing her in there before she's an "adult" :rotfl:), DS1, 5 (2 months til 5) and DS2 3 (1 month til 4). DD is tiny for her age, but the boys kind of make up for it. I liked the Dolphin bc I'm thinking we'll let the boys sleep on that bed that folds out get her an air mattress or blow up bed of some sort. I like the proximity of the hotel to DHS and Epcot and if can actually book the rooms, I'll like that we'll be able to basically get it free--did the math yesterday-- (minus the hotel fee, and parking fee--I don't think I can use the Starwood points for those things.) Still? $150 for a week at a deluxe hotel? That ain't bad. ;) I just have to get the first 28,000 points so I can book it first. Augh.:worship:

I'm not familiar with the Dolphin other than seeing it from the outside, but I'm pretty sure free hotel room would beat any other discount with 3 kids under 10. :) I take it they don't have the crazy 4 people to a room rule?
The dining plan costs about $220 a day for my family  , so free dining is almost always the best deal for us. I did find that if we stay deluxe it would be a little bit cheaper to have the room discount and YES tickets though.

Aww...that brought back some Mr Rogers memories. Why isn't tv as good as it used to be?

Godd morning to you! It does look pretty beautiful outside today, but I haven't ventured out to see for sure. Still doing the pjs and coffee thing. :)

I was thinking about that the other day. What happened to kids just being kids? Not little adults at 8-10???? :confused3

I'm not familiar with it either! LOL! We'll see, but I did see on their website that they can sleep 5. The kids won't care if one of them has to sleep in on an air mattress..in fact, I can bet they'll fight over it--so we'll have to share that "priviledge." But, I called Saturday to confirm that once I have enough points to actually book my room on points + cash, I can keep accruing points and then credit them to our room balance when we get to WDW. Based on our current spending (since we use the card for everything and pay it off each month) and the bonus 10,000 point offer, we should have enough to fully cover our stay. Now, if I could actually book at a time that they offered the YES tickets...man, I'd be in heaven!!! :woohoo:

As for food...I am buying Disney gc at our Kroger everytime I go to the grocery store. I get fuel points for the gc, points on the Amex card toward the hotel room and they don't expire, so we'll use that towards our food and merchandise. I figure it's not so bad if i can do a bit at a time.

You are so right!! I thought that they very first time I read that they Disney considered them adults at 9. 9!! What a way to nickel and dime ya. That has to be my biggest pet peeve so far. Maybe boys eat more at 9, but surely the majority of 9 to even 12 year olds are not taking up *that* much more room and *that* much more food that they have to charge *that* much more. :(

You said you homeschool so you're very open on when you can go right? I don't see why you should have any problems with the YES classes unless they totally change from this year. They still have openings for this October, so they must not fill up too quickly. I wouldn't worry about food $ too much. The kids meals are very reasonable everywhere, and you can just eat according to what $ you want to spend. The first time I took my girls we didn't do any TS restaurants, and they still had a great time. If you work all of the really amazing CS for most of your meals, you can eat really well without ever setting foot in a TS.

In general I think kids grow up too quick, which is why I've always catered to my kids maybe more than I should. I figure you only get to be a kid once, and I want them to enjoy it to the fullest.

As far as Disney considering them adults, I have mixed feelings. I get the ticket part as it's the same at most amusement parks, only based on height instead of age. It would have worked in my favor at WDW because my kids are all bigger than average. Also, my daughter at 9 would have made them rethink the price for a kids all you can eat buffet. lol

We do homeschool. :) We thought about October. We actually don't do Halloween and my kids get really freaked out/scared by jack o lanterns and all things that have any sort of scary sort vibe. I just wanted to avoid any decorations that may freak them out since this was our first trip, kwim? I know...we're weird...

Another thing, my DH's aunt and uncle may go that week after Thanksgiving, too, and my kids LOVE LOVE LOVE them. It would be nice to be there the same week. BUT, if we can get YES tickets and hotel stay earlier in the month (not Thanksgiving week) then we'll do that.

Good memory!:thumbsup2

There is nothing weird about not doing Halloween. You're certainly not alone. I'm not really sure what things are like in regards to decor in October as I've not been during that time yet. I'm just shooting for October because it's a fall break for my older kids. I'm not planning to do MNSSHP. I've only been when it's HOT, so I'm trying to avoid the summer months...ever again. lol I only mentioned Oct YES classes because that is what I've looked at.

I would love to go when the Christmas decor is up, but I don't want to pull the kids out of school or going during Christmas break. It's just too busy! We're actually planning on homeschooling my youngest, so I look forward to that perk of being able to vacation when rates are cheaper and weather is nicer. :)

I went to WDW last October and during the day the decorations are great....mickey pumpkins and fall leaves and some carved pumpkins but thats about it....not scary at all and the weather is nice!

Oh my goodness ya'll have been chatty. :goodvibes I'm sorry I missed it.
