Well.... I finally got a pin code. But it was from a halloween site that my kids sometimes order from. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

LOL!

I just booked our trip yesterday for Nov22-30. I called and reserved and she said I had a PIN code attached to my name. When I asked what kind she just said that it gave me a discount on our room. She wouldn't say exactly what kind of discount but it ended up saving me about $500ish dollars. During Thanksgiving week when I thought PINs were blacked out.

That's great!!

My mom got a PIN for FD...also for the spring. Fingers crossed she might get one again for the right dates. :)

I was playing on mousesavers last night and clicked through to David's. Anyone think renting DVC is the way to go? Unless FD comes out. Then I'd need a MYW package, right?

I am arriving in November too :-) We are staying at CBR from Nov 28-Dec 4th. Waiting for free dining dates to be announced. Would love to add that to our reservation :-)

I am venturing into point renting territory for the first time this trip. I figured out that one night of our room rate at the Dolphin + Mears transportation for all five of us was very close to the cost of a night at Animal Kingdom if I rented points. I decided to place a request and see if they could get us into a standard 1 bedroom for one night, and they got us into Jambo house. I'm really excited about it, because I've ALWAYS wanted to stay there but there are too many of us to fit into a regular room. Renting points sure made it affordable!

You can add the dining plan on to a point rental, but you're right - it would eliminate the possibility of free dining. We were already not planning on doing the dining plan, so free dining wouldn't really help us out as much as a room discount. And it's only a very small part of our trip. Hopefully I can pack in a way that makes the split stay easy. My DH will NOT be happy if it turns out to be a huge ordeal! We'll now be splitting three ways this trip.

Today is exactly 9 months til I see Mickey again!!!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Our 9 months was yesterday! :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous... I've still got a ways to go!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant for our Thanksgiving meal? I'm thinking we'll be in the Epcot or around the Boardwalk area that day, but we could go to HS for a meal and see the Osborne Lights.

I was playing with the idea of Garden Grill, because we've never been there. But 50's Prime Time seems like it would be a fun place for Thanksgiving dinner, too! Has anyone had any memorable Holiday dinners at WDW?

I actually was thinking of renting points too...but find the fact that you have to pay for everything NOW as opposed to paying over the next couple months to Disney a big negative for us unfortunately. Plus...FD would be awesome to have!!!

I got a 30% off for spring, but it was the same one that is open to the general public. I thought, really? :confused3 That's just insulting! :sad2:

Yes, you have to purchase park tickets in order to get the dining plan.

I looked into renting, but with three adults and two children we would need a two bedroom. I just don't want to pay that much.

Welcome!! :cheer2:

I'm very excited that my friend agreed to go with me in November, I talked her into it, so I'm on the lookout for PIN's, right? In the last week and a half, I've gotten mail from Disney and I always gasp and then get disappointed when it just has something to do with my Disney card or the Disney store. LOL

I'm really tempted to go the REnting points route at this point. I priced a two room at AKL at 13 a point at David's, grabbing Park Hopper at Undercover, and Adding the Dining plan. Total cost would only be 5600 for our party of 4 adults/2 kids. Going through Disney it would cost..9200. If we were lucky enough to hit free dining, it would still cost us 7800. I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with renting points.

I just got a 30% off PIN in the regular old snail mail valid for November travel dates so don't give up hope!

I went through David's for my point rental, and they are very popular around the Disboards. They've been around a long time and are very reputable, so I didn't worry about it. I've seen my reservation confirmation on the Disney site since booking.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you buy your tickets from Undercover Tourist, you won't have the option of adding the dining plan. You'd have to get your tickets directly from Disney and add the dining plan. And maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe free dining is ever offered to DVC members. So if you rent points, you won't be able to take advantage of free dining.

Yeah, i know you cant get free dining, but here is the dining note in regards to tickets from david's site...

"When staying as a guest of a DVC Member at a Disney Vacation Club Resort, can participate in the optional cost Disney Dining Plan. You do not need to purchase theme park tickets in order to participate. You will, of course, need theme park tickets if the restaurant you wish to dine at is inside a theme park. Be sure to check out my Theme Park Ticket prices."

is he wrong?

Good morning! It is a beautiful snowy morning here :) I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday morning. Work has been nuts. I am now doing 3 jobs instead of just mine! :scared1:

I can't believe how many pages you've gone through since my last visit! No way to catch up on it all, starting over from here. I hope everyone's planning is going well. :wizard:

He is correct. We rented points last trip & are renting again this trip. DP both times. Tickets from Undercover Tourist both times. It all gets added to your KTTW. I think the difference this time is that you can't wait until the last minute to add the DP. I think it has to be by 45 days out??? Something like that.

Congrats on the 30% pin! That's what I'm hoping for, but still nothing...
We're not planning on doing the dining plan this time unless it's free. DD will turn 10 before we go and be considered an adult and she's definitely a "child" when it comes to eating!

Good morning!

I wonder has anyone had a free dining pin attached to their name?

Yes, a few have. It certainly can't hurt to call. :goodvibes

Please send some snow my way!! I haven't seen snow for a couple year and would really like some!!! :goodvibes

If you go through a reputable site light David's, you will be fine. :thumbsup2

You guys totally rock! I had completely missed that. We may add dining to our first day, then - just for a little bit of Dining Plan fun. That's what I love about this board... so much "Disney knowledge!" I don't know how I ever managed to plan a trip without coming here. Oh - that's right - I paid too much and missed out on a whole bunch of fun!

I ordered a new planning DVD this morning. Not sure if it's changed since last year, but I want to be able to watch it with the kids.
