November 2012 Castle Shoot

Hey y'all!!!

I have a friend who was looking into doing an escape wedding in Nov 2012, but was told she wouldn't be able to do the castle shoot at that time. Was anyone else told this or does anyone know why?

This. If it is at the very beginning of November, that is usually when they are getting ready for Christmas. And, since they usually do it before the park opens, it wouldn't be a good time for a shoot.

So, if I get married on November 7, it's probably a good thing were planning to stay until the 13. I'd hope by halfway through the month, they would be done with the Holiday party starting.

I sure hope not...we're getting married November 4. I had been in touch with Dara at DPS and they didn't mention black out dates (yet).

After I saw that Wendy had been in contact with DPS, I filled out the contact info online over the weekend. Had some other questions, but this was my big one.

Just got off the phone with Dara at DPS and have some really bad news. All of November and December 2012 are blacked out for MK sessions. The last available date is October 27th and the first available is January 13th, 2013.

Since we were contemplating the Enchanted Rose package which includes the MK shoot, she told we have a few options. We could do the shoot early (not an option) or we can come back in 2013 and do it. We could get a credit in our package for something else (high-res disc?) or do the shoot in another park.

I am really bummed right now about this and not sure what we will do. Even Dara seemed surprised that it was all blocked off, but said there was nothing she could do about it.

Sorry for the bad news, but thought I would let everyone know.

well that effects me since we are getting married in december 2012. I know we wanted to do Hollywood studios so I guess we could do that and then do MK when we go back sometime in 2013....wow that really stinks

I can imagine Dora was surprised. I don't think they've ever blocked two whole months before. That's completely ridiculous.

I've wanted an MK shoot as long as I've wanted the Disney wedding, but going back again (as much as I love Disney) is crazy. That would be four trips in two years. Not that I would complain, but my boss and my pocketbook might.

That is what I'm thinking.. The first phase is supposed to open the end of 2012

I know they film the Christmas parade for two weeks during the month of November so they usually can't schedule any portrait sessions then, but I've not heard of it being blocked out for two months!

I agree that it's probably something to do with the expansion. I know it seems just awful if you were hoping to have and MK shoot in that time period, but you can always have one in future with all the fab new attractions!
