Today is National Dog Day
Dogs are such wonderful companions for many of us. If you are allergic to them, like me DH, you can have a breed that is hypoallergenic, which is good. Dogs feed on your happy energy and share in your joy. Dogs know when you’re sad and they comfort you by just being there to pet and keep you company. They truly are fantastic additions to the family. They can also be a challenge and cause a lot of headaches - it’s not all sunshine & rainbows all the time. So let’s talk about our dogs today

….
Do you currently have any dogs?
If yes….how many?
If no…..have you had dogs in the past?
(multiple choice)
*Please post a picture of your current dog(s) and past dog(s) for us to see your four footed family member.
For Me……Yes, we currently have our 15 month old Havanese named Otis. I swore we’d never get another dog after our Sophie passed away, but on 8/18 last year we roamed a local pet store and there he was. He spoke to me in a way I can’t explain. There wasn’t any other dog there that did this - just him. I had to see him and then had to have him. He is now our baby and is spoiled more than any dog we’ve ever had, but we’re empty nesters now and have the extra money to spoil him more than our other dogs. We love him so much, and he’s filled a huge void in our house. I miss my DD22 being here and our little Otis keeps me company with her being away. In our 30 years of marriage, we’ve had 4 dogs - Sampson (German Shepherd), Indy (Black Lab), Sophie (Yorkie) and now Otis (Havanese). Below are pictures….

I don’t have an available picture of our Indy. I’d have to dig into some photo albums for those. We only had him for year. He went to be a bomb and arson dog for an Indiana police department. I don’t know where he went, but I was told by the trainer that trained him that he was doing well and loving life - this was in 2003.
