November 2011 Check In

My wife and I are going to be in LA/Anaheim area November 7-9th and decided we could fit in an a few hours of Disney at some point during those few days. It will be the first visit using our Premium Annual Passports. We were originally staying at the Hilton Convention Center, but I changed to the Anabella (our favorite area hotel and where we stayed after celebrating our engagement) and was able to save $90 compared to the Hilton!

I'm definitely the disney addict in this relationship so I'm going crazy every day, reading all sorts of stuff, and she just nods her head and says "oh". She is beyong tired of hearing about it at this point.

We have both been to Disneyland at least 15 times, and Disneyworld at least 30 times. I am not new to Disney, but I'm still over the top excited everytime a Disney trip is coming up.

Disneyanajc ain't it great?!!!! There are now a whole bunch of us heading to Disneyland NEXT month!!!! I actually get to leave home the last day of this month but will not be in the park until Nov. 1st. Either way is fantastic!!! Even though I really dislike that dancing banana I'll go ahead and do that happy dance with you about our new updated November calendar!


Stitch1010 sounds like lots of reasons for celebrating during your trip! I cannot think of a better place to celebrate than the park. So.... have you bought those tickets and made ressies yet? I bet you will have a fun time on the tour. We have taken it and really enjoyed it. Thanks to it my daughter rode the Haunted Mansion for her first time. She wasn't very brave at the time but now it is one of her favorite rides! I am going to miss Blue Bayou too since it is our favorite dining place in the park. Maybe you could try out some of the Downtown Disney offerings or something at one of the hotels for a special meal. Napa Rose always comes highly praised.

We went last year and if our APs didn't expire before then we would be there again this year. Oh well. It's definitely in the plans for the next year! Anyway, it is wonderful not having to cook and no dishes to deal with. Plus when you get done with your meal you just get to go and have a wonderful time in the park. I'll be hoping for you that the crowds stay low... or at the very least manageable.


LV Disney Fan(atic), we have been over several holiday weekends too. While it can be sometimes a little hectic I can honestly say that Disneyland is one of the few places on the face of the Earth that I can still manage to have a good time even when it is more crowded than I would like. A busy day in Disneyland is better than no day at all for me!


smiley_face2 glad to see you found a brief moment to pop in away from that crazy hectic schedule of yours. I am praying that all continues to go well. Hope you have plenty of energy built back up by the time your trip rolls around.


ChefChristopher glad you found a way to squeeze in some Disney time! Yay on saving some bucks on your lodging. That is always a pleasant surprise! We'll be hoping your park enthusiasm is contagious. Maybe some day she will surprise you and end up becoming a fanatic too. My DH was not always as crazy for DL as I have been but he's sure come around. Maybe there is hope for them yet!

I'll take manageable, I'm hoping it will be...this is quite new territory for us, now that we're in school (me teaching again, my DS in Kindergarten), we really can only go on our breaks.

I think we are all more excited about this trip than any other yet!

More November visitors! I realized this week that I definitely need a Disney Fix soon so DD and I will be at the Candy Cane Inn from Nov 9 - Nov 13. We were at DLR over Veteran's Day last year too and it was packed, but that's ok, we had a great time anyway. I was hoping to get a little break on crowds as the holiday season doesn't officially start until Nov 14 this year, but I see on the calendar that some of the holiday stuff will be starting early (holiday fireworks, IASMH) so maybe not. Crowds don't really bother me though - I could just sit on a bench somewhere all day soaking up the atmosphere and be perfectly content!

We have been on Veteran's Day before too. This year will actually be our 3rd time. While it may be somewhat more crowded than some of the other days it is still totally worth it. The best bet is to just go mentally prepared for the crowd and with a good dose of luck you might get lucky and it end up being one of those crazy weekends that the crowds don't decide to show up nearly as bad as you expect. There are plenty of strategies for making dealing with the crowds more manageable, especially if you are alone. Utilize stocking up on those fastpasses early in the morning, use those single rider lines, jump in line whenever you see a short one, take advantage of short lines while other people are watching parades, Fantasmic and fireworks and also during peak dining times. Be flexible in your plans and adjust as you see an opportunity.
I really have a crappy memory so I cannot remember exactly how much busier the actual holiday was compared to say a typical weekend but I do know that we have never been during a holiday weekend that we were ever unable to still enjoy the park.

I agree with what Marie said! We don't usually go around holidays at all so I thought the crowds over Veteran's Day last year were pretty bad, but we still had a great time and here we are going during that same time again. Go with a positive attitude, start your days early, and plan on having a great time!

Well if you guys are planning on going again, it cant be so bad! and im definately going to keep a list of what rides have single riders etc....i get in late friday, so im going to try and see fantasmic that night (wdw has it so i dont need a front row seat) but satuday i want to see the fireworks and woc....hahaha i plan to be at the parks from 7am-midnight, so i should be able to it!

I dont mind crowds, especially since im by myself i don't have to worry about loosing anyone...

That a girl teddygurl28! Z! Go with a positive outlook! After all, how bad could it be? You will be at DISNEYLAND! I am actually secretly jealous. I have never done a solo trip and imagine it would be amazing. Our group consists of the four of us and I love being there with my family but there are those times when it is a pain in the backside trying to make a simple decision, like what to ride next. We often split up into 2 groups of 2 and it makes things so much easier. I can only imagine all that you can do when you are making the decisions all by yourself! Making your way through a crowd will be so easy! And, if you decide you don't want to do anything at all you can just park yourself on a bench, enjoy the atmosphere and no one will be there to question why. How cool that would be.
Your Fantasmic and fireworks plans sound like the way to go. I bet you will have one fantastic trip!

As for our own plans... we are down to the last few weeks! Everyone in the house is so excited. You would think after 10 years we would start to lose that a little but for us I think it just grows more every year! It's kinda like going home. Lots of our friends and family would never understand that but I am sure there are some of you around here who do!

That list is looking better all the time! Lots of us heading for some fun next month.

In preparation for our trip I bought my growing daughter pretty much a new wardrobe. Yesterday I managed to get her to try everything on by playing along with a "fashion show". Everything fit great except for 2 pants so it looks like she is set for the trip so we now have that out of the way. I need to go through my closet next... believe me no fashion show here... and I have a good idea that there will be much more in my closet that doesn't make the packing list! The men folk are so much easier. Toss in some t-shirts and jeans and they are good to go! So anyway got to mark another to-do off my to-do list!

Checked weather.com and while it is probably a little early to totally accurately predict the weather it does look like it will be perfect! Middle 70s during the day. Middle 50s in the evening. So ready to be there! Come on fall! Can't you go just a little faster?
