November 2011 car rentals

BTW, I used a coupon code posted here to get this low rate, but my reservation says it is the American Airlines Valley discount. I'm not really sure what that is? ID: 7015392 rate/prod code: AW7T coupon:AD2359FDF I did a google search and someone on another board said it was an ecoupon. The rate seems too good to be true so now I am nervous that I will need to present the coupon which I don't have. I also used the Visa code. Can anyone help. Maybe I should use another coupon just to be sure???

This is sur-real. I just subtituted the Walmart ID for the Visa ID, and guess what it took another $6 off my rental - I am now down to $54.42 for a 6 day rental. Can someone explain for the American Airlines VALLey offer is? Is it tied to a geographical area? This seems too good to be true.

I also used the American Airlines coupon and was getting a little concerned about showing the coupon at pick up. So I called Alamo three times and was assured that all I would need is a printout of the conformation e-mail. This was the main toll free number to Alamo. :goodvibes

I just checked our dates again (11/4 - 11/11) through Costco. Minivans are $317 incl. taxes.

Everything else has dropped also. I rebooked a standard size for $70 (had to laugh - it was $31 for the base price and $39 for the taxes)

You do need Costco membership. Hope this helps someone.

I just saw rates under $100 for exonomy/midsize @ dollar/thrift both on the car sites and SW Air. And that's BEFORE I tried any codes!

enjoy!

just went on again.....thank goodness I canceled my original ressie and switched... the rates went up through Alamo (with my discounts) :thumbsup2

i used the Visa code with Saturday night stay and got a 5 night, midsize sedan for 64.44

We go the first full week in Nov.

Wow! I am so glad I booked on Friday, because the same car with the same code and coupon that I reserved for $200 is now $406 through Alamo!

I'm using BJs ID #7014696 and Coupon #AD8Z21SDB for $40 off for Nov. 25 - Dec. 4.

my ressie with alamo for a standard car for nov 2nd thru 11th just went down from $206 to $148!!!:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay:soooo excited!! I will keep checking but this is a price I can definitely live with!:thumbsup2

I just booked 10 days for $145 incl taxes for a compact. I was looking at taking DME and then picking up a car but this saved me $70 and added 3 days. Normally I hate to drive on my trips, but at this price, I am rethinking how I get around to the parks.

cant believe...the price went down AGAIN!!! holy cow! full size car through bjs's and AD2359FDF nov1-10 (they dont consider it 10 full days) 171.17 :cool1:

I went back to the Alamo site today and joined the Alamo Insiders program (free), then rebooked my car rental for another 10% off. Now my rate is just $57.89 for the week of 11/12-19. I chose a compact car since it's just the 3 of us. The girls are almost as excited about getting to ride in a car (everyone we know drives a Mommy Van - me included) as they are about the plane ride.:goodvibes

Thanks again for the tip. I really didn't think a rental car was in our budget, and I was sooooo not looking forward to taking the Disney buses - especially on the day we want to go from AK to DHS. All the estimates I was finding said 1-2 hours using the bus system!

So what codes exactly did you use ? and are your dates right, 11/2-11/19 ? if so, you win for the most insanely low rate !! :rotfl:

Glad you got a great rate on your car but wanted to comment about the traveling from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios. I do this every trip by bus and it never takes that long. There is a bus stop at Animal Kingdom that goes directly to Hollywood Studios. Last time I waited about five minutes for the bus and the ride was maybe 10-15 minutes total.

Just something to remember for future trips if needed.

I booked a full-size with Alamo through Travelzoo's Top 20 deals (which took me to Hotwire) for Nov. 5-14 last week for $196 including all taxes and fees. Comparable prices at other agencies was $500+

I was happy! That's less than $20 a day for a full-size!

Just rebooked our minivan for the week of Nov 4-10 for $186 total. Using the last codes posted Singinglizzie

We just got back last night from a quick weekend trip and DH said "I can not believe you are already checking out stuff for the Nov trip!" And I said, "good thing I did- we just saved another $130" :thumbsup2

Just booked Fullsize with Alamo for Nov 12th to Nov 20th for $88.00 using codes ID 430710 (Walmart customer) and coupon AD2359FDF

just book with Alamo thru BJ's for 11/5-11/12 got a midsize SUV for $117 all taxes and fee's included :yay:

OH, I wish those dates were right! No, it should be 11/12 - 11/19 - just a week, not 17 days! But wouldn't that be fun?:)

And FYI, I used the $35 code (AD2359FDF) and signed up as an "Alamo Insider". Actually, you need to sign up as an "Insider" before you make the reservation. That gives you an extra 10% off. Plus, I think you can get another 10% off if you prepay. Crazy, isn't it?

Yes 17 days in the world would be way fun ! still a great rate you have ! I have a compact booked for 9 days for $86 but hey i'm always looking for better, what can I say, i'm greedy ! ;)

If I change my pick-up time to 10:30 am (instead of 9:30) I can shave $30 off of my Alamo rental. Does anyone know what will happen if I actually pick it up at 9:30?
