November 2009 Code Watch

Got a 40% off PIN, so I called wdw to check the price. They quoted me 2350 for 12 nights at Coronado springs and 3 adult and 1 child 10 day hopper, from Nov. 20 - Dec. 2. Is this a good deal?

Sounds like a good deal! :thumbsup2
Did you just get that PIN? I haven't heard about a 40% off in awhile, so glad to hear they're still out there.

Just got it on Monday, how can I check out the rack rate, or does anybody know what the rack rate is. The email said not good thanksgiving week, but I think it took something off those days also. The tickets are around 1150 so that would mean the room is $100 per night for the length of my stay, I think is a good deal also, just wanted to see what others thought.

Your dates cover three different "seasons", but the rack rates for a standard room are $170 through Nov 24, $180 Nov 25-28, and $149 Nov 29 on (plus tax), so an average of $100 is a good deal!

We booked Riverside today Nov 28-Dec 5, and we're paying about that with an AP rate. :thumbsup2

Called and had the AP rate applied to my POR reservation for 2 nights in Oct. It saved me $100 off the AAA rate I had reserved. Now I can spend it at the F&W Fest! :cool1:

Is the Riverside better than CSR?

I think there are pros and cons to both. We stayed at PO French Quarter once before and walked over to POR and really liked the look of it, so we thought we'd give it a try.
The only negatives I've heard about CSR is that it's Disney's convention resort, so it has a business feel to it. It sounds like ir has a nice pool and restaurant though.
We liked the theme at POR and also the boat access to DTD is nice.

It's just a matter of preference! They're both nice resorts.

The AP rate was not applicable to AKL-CL. :headache: So I guess I still have to hope for a free dining PIN!

BTW, they did have the code available for standard AKL if anyone is interested.

Hi,

I booked our 11/15-21 trip a few months ago using a 40% pin offer. I just received a free dining pin for that same week. When I called Disney Reservations the CM told me that I couldn't use both offers. I would have to pick either the 40% off or free dining. I just want to make sure that she told me correct information and that you can only use 1 pin code per reservation.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify or validate this info!!

Yeah, you can only use one. They should be able to price your package out both ways to see which one saves you more. Generally, a % off is better at deluxe resorts and free dining is better if you have more people in your party.

Thank you so much for clarifying about using multiple pins. I figured it was too good to think I could use both pins for the trip :goodvibes.

If any other offers for free dining come out - either through Disney Visa or to the general public - do you think I would be able to apply those offers to my reservation? Or would it be the same situation that I can't use any other discounts since I already booked with the 40% off pin.

Thanks again for your response!

Same thing goes for all PINs/codes/special rates - you can't "stack" discounts.

Is the Riverside better than CSR?

I have stayed at all 4 moderate resorts and like them all but my favorite is hands down CSR. I love the theming, grounds, food and drink options and they're almost finished redoing all the rooms. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago and got a new room and it was beautiful. CSR is the only mod resort to have queen beds instead of doubles. They had a couple conventions going on but it didn't bother us in the least. There are plenty of other guests that are just there for disney. I really think it's a personal preference as to which theming appeals to you the most.

Has anyone been able to apply the AP rate to Jersey week dates? We are going the second half (11/4-11/11) and wanted to find out if there were any blackout dates before I get my hopes up:)

I am booked 11/5 - 11/8 and they did have some levels available, just not mine (AKL-CL)! So I am hoping for a free dining pin!

pixiedust: that you get an AP discount! What a difference that would make!
