NOVEMBER 2008 Code Watch...

I'm hoping and praying for a code for November. However, we are going the week of thanksgiving, do they release them close to holidays?

I posted awhile back about having gotten a postcard code that DH threw away. Well, I called Disney Reservations and NO they didn't have that code attached to my name... just the summertime code that I got via email and can't use... wahhhhhh!!!! I know I didn't imagine that postcard...!

So I guess I will wait until mid August and hope for another code that works on packages. Our final payment date is August 23! If I get a code, I can't apply it to a package that has been paid off already, can I?? I don't want to wait too long to make final payment.

Yes, if the code is applicable you can use it on a package that is already paid in full.....

Last year I believe the special came out mid August if I am not mistaken. There has been one the last 3 years so let's hope the tradition continues. It will help ease the airline prices!

Does anyone know how much the discount was for last year? Is 40% off a package a possibility?

I just checked and it came out for GP last year on August 18th. We were last year paying 2746.38 with the AAA discount and then it with the special it brought it down to 2375.18 savings of 371.20. Hope it's just as good this year.

Yeah, I'd like to know this, too. So far all I have read is a bunch of totals from other's vacations, which don't apply to mine. Is there a set percentage that was offered on a set package?

Well I have air booked for Nov. 6 til 11th, kids will have to take off the 10th but no biggie. Only problem is I have rooms booked from Nov 2 til 8th but couldn't get a decent flight time or price. I'd love a code to re-book. AAA has nothing for the Poly during my times but gave me a pretty decent rate for GF. We stayed there last time and prefer the Poly so we're holding out hope for that. Keep checking periodically because last year's November codes came out the end of summer, so we likely have a few months to wait yet.

We used our AP discount last year for the week of Thanksgiving, and we're going back again this year. We got a moderate for $125 a night-I can't remember what the percentage was, maybe 30% off.

AP = Annual Pass, so an AP code is only applicable to those with AP's.

I am ready to make my reservations now. I want to be able to maximize my trip, bringing my parents with me. We haven't gone to Disney together for over 20 years......

It means annual passholder, but the codes are released for everyone a few days after we get them. First the Disney visa cardholders get a code, then annual passholders and Florida residents, then everyone else.

If I were you, I would go ahead and make my reservations before everything gets booked up (Thanksgiving is a busy time). Then keep checking this thread, and when the discount codes are released you can call Disney and apply the code to your existing reservation. The codes for Thanksgiving came out the first of August last year.
