November 19, 2009 3-day Wonder Cruise

Hello,
We decided to rent a car from budget also. Do you know anything about the shuttle they offer? I will need to take it from the port to the rental place. Thanks for any information.

Stacey

We used Budget in May after our last crusie. It was very easy. The Budget shuttle will pick you up right at the pier, you walk out the front door and to the "pick-up" area. Budget is a 5 minute ride from the pier. You can all go with the shuttle or one person can pick-up the car then return to the pier to pick-up the rest of the group and luggage.

Feeling a little blue today....it's cold and raining. Yesterday my boss gave me the bad news that our business is in bad shape and he can longer afford me full time. He offered me the opportunity to stay on if I like but only work 18 hours a week. Not sure what I'm going to do but I guess I can find comfort in the fact that I can still bring in some money while I am looking for a new job. I've never been in love with the job anyway so perhaps this is the universe telling me to get off my duff and go find something I can really feel good about doing every day.

The good news is that this won't affect our upcoming vacation plans. :) Most everything is already paid for, now it's just a matter of the rental car, tips, food (during our 5 days prior to the cruise) and some spending money for misc. expenses/souvineers. We will need to watch our spending more than we usually would but we don't get to crazy with shopping or anything anyway. We'll appreciate this vacation even more knowing that we'll have to table any future vacation plans until I get settled in my fabulous new job.

I am so sorry to hear of your bad news....but, it sounds like you have the right attitude in dealing with it. I am the "glass is half full" kind of person and I try, though sometimes its hard to look on the positive side. I believe good or bad, everything happens for a reason, you know, when a door closes a window opens or something like that???? Good luck in your search for a new job!!!
Ellen:)

Sorry Paxton's Mom to hear your bad news. Out of something bad usually comes something good so stay positive.

Gloomy here today (and for the past several days). We live where it may be cold in the winter but we get a lot of days of sunshine each year so we all hate it when it's gloomy. Lots of fog now for several days. Apparently lots of snow coming in this weekend.

I think we have decided to go to the Wyndham/Sheraton when we are in Nassau. That's provided mother nature gives us a beach day. If it's not a beach day we have no idea what we will do. Just a little over 3 weeks now for us before we leave.

Hoping for some Pixie Dust here in Alabama! I'll keep an eye out for FedEx!

Nothing here yet but we're in western Canada so things always take longer to get here.

No cruise documents here yet in the Florida panhandle. Hopefully today? It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow so I hope if they leave it they put it in a plastic bag.

Great news that the cruise docs are starting to show up! I can't wait to get home tonight and see if there is anything waiting for me. If not I'm sure we'll get something soon.

Thanks for the kind words about my job situation. It nice to know that there are nice people out there who will take the time to make someone else feel better.

Hi!!!
We live in Lakeland...The docs arrived in a plastic padded envelope:goodvibes

I was so busy after work yesterday that I forgot to look on my front porch. :rotfl: (We use the garage door to get in and out of the house.) I better remember to look today!

No sooner had I posted and Fed Ex was at my door. Docs are in hand:cool1: I have also confirmed we were upgraded to the Disney Swan (we weren't sure until today whether it was Swan or Dolphin) which is great as they have the queen beds whereas Dolphin has doubles. We have requested a king room and a balcony but not expecting to get it. Looks like everything is falling in to order. Now, if I could only find longer laces for my shoes life would be good.

Wow! Congrats! Sounds like everything is falling into place.

Good luck with those laces. I feel your pain! :goodvibes

Wow everyone! I got my docs about 3 weeks ago from the cruise and the hotel just this last week!

Paxton's Mom I am sorry to hear about your bad news! I do agree that maybe this is a push to find something you love. Believe me I know how hard it is to be in a place you don't want to be:)

In anticipation of my expenses on the ship have been paying my shipboard account and have about $400.00 on there so I am almost set on that. I still have to pay for our limo and the Hyatt. I wish they would just take it out when you book! I am still debating weather or not I am going to play bingo on the ship. Someone from my last FE exchange came away with a almost $4000.00 jackpot. :scared1:

I am in the final stages of getting the FE list ready. I should have it out to everyone by this Sat so check your emails and let me know if there are any corrections. I am going to start throwing things in the suitcase next week!
I have a DCL screen saver and it shows pics of Castaway. It couldn't come sooner for me! I have been on antibiotics all week due to a infection in my thumb and am not feeling so hot  I am trying to get all of the sickness out of the way before the vacation this time lol! If any of my family is sick on this vacation I am going on strike! LOL!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Christine
