We are flying in on Saturday at 11:03. It never crossed my mind to go the day before until it was too late. They tell me I will arrive at the port around 12:30-1 so I should be fine. We have a long drive to the airport and need to be there at 5:00 so I decided to stay at the Marriott by the hotel on Friday night. So my son and I will have a pre-cruise vacation. That will also keep me from staying up all night throwing more stuff in the suit case. I know I am over packed but I want to dress up every night. I can wear shorts and t-shirts to eat every day but I would look really crazy in McDonalds wearing a glittery dress. I will be easy to spot, most of my cloths have rhinestones! I would really like to go get me one of those pretty Cinderella dresses for the Princess autograph party but I guess that would be a little too much! :rotfl: I am so EXCITED!! :Pinkbounc

glad I'm not the only one who likes to overdress!!!! Most of my wardrobe is pink and if it sparkles, even better!!!! now that I have a little girl we can even wear matching fancy clothes....dorky I know but I must have been deprvied as a child. My mother disagress and shakes her head.

On our 2004 cruise, we did the Romantic Escape at Sea package. After Palo dinner, this romantic turndown was waiting for us in the room...Wanna know what happened next?...........Huh?......Do Ya?.........Well, I don't know, cuz, I had Romantically ESCAPED to the Rockin Bar D with the DIS group. Mrs W took the pic before she turned in for the night. Yeah, I was in the at sea version of the old dog house. It made a pretty picture, though.

I am thinking that Mrs. TCD will have a partner to commiserate with in Mrs. dubbya (the other Mrs. dubbya)

i have been on DIS originally in 1999 -- the had to register in 2003 b/c i didn't come on for so lone i forgot my password or my username expired. i had the same username both times

Margarita Tasting? DW Kelli will be first in line for that one. We have been experimenting with margarita recipes all summer. That was, until the Gulf of Mexico sent us one BIG OLE RITA. :rotfl2:

W
I LOVE margaritas and martinis so hopefully I can manage both in one day :drinking1

In case anyone was wondering, DCL rep just said Costa Maya is definitely from 10:00 to 6:00. I hope we get back in time from our ruins tour to visit the beach!

In regards to DH and jeans, I made the mistake a while back remarking to DH that DCL no longer mentions jeans being not allowed at dinner, just shorts, swimwear and tank tops. He mentioned that flannel shirts are not forbidden (and he has quite the selection of them), but apparently he decided that it was best to quit while ahead, and stay with jeans for 2 nights. It makes for a happier DH, and since he is the one working many hours every day, I will not argue (too much, anyway!).

It is snowing here! And cold! Gosh, it was so warm here just a few days ago.

I hope your daughter is very surprised by the trip, Fletch88. We did this 3 years ago with ours (and I wrote a trip report about it on here, but I figure that is no longer around since it was so long ago). I can still see my girls' faces when I told them, the utter shock they had was fantastic! I can't wait to hear what your daughter's reaction is!

Lampskies, nice to know it is not just Nissan/Subaru dealerships suffering (I work at one of them). Unfortunately, Nissan/Subaru is hardheaded and seems to think their cars and their reputations will sell themselves. I feel badly for the salesmen, management is always coming down hard on them to sell, but if there are no customers, how can they?

Kathleen.

Kathleen, our nissan dealerships were thriving until last month, there are no subaru around to see.....Me once again, run a "special finace" dept. and there are record bankrupt people the last few months :cheer2:

Hey Julia and other ladies:

I forgot to mention something else about Mrs. TCD. She likes to decorate. She will love talking about faux finishes. We have two murals in our home, and Mrs. TCD likes Trompe L'oeil. You know what that is, don't you, Julia?

Mrs. TCD loves to look at decorating magazines and planning things for our home.

These are authorized topics of discussion with Mrs. TCD.

Andrew (tri-circle-d)

Hi Andrew- yes...I do know what Trompe L'oeil is...and I have not done the classes yet but will soon. It's very popular. I would love to talk to Mrs. TCD and any ladies that is interested, to talk over decorating. To bad I can't bring my faux supplies to the boat and teach to those who would like to learn.

Fletch88--

Just be prepared for the "not much reaction" because she's in shock. That's what happened to me when I surprised my kids with the cruise last time. It killed me because we had the videotape running expecting tears, screams and generally havoc. We got, "well, OK."

I can laugh about it now.

Can't wait to hear of your daughter's response!

Laura

Oh no!! :earseek: I had not thought of that at all!! Thanx for the warning, Laura!

Hi Willie

Rachel was just talking about Erin the other day too and I thought she even said she sent her an email saying she was sorry she hadn't emailed her in awhile. She has a ton of homework this year in sixth grade but she is doing great and loves her teachers.
I walked in the WDW 1/2 marathon with Molli and her mom, Bev in Jan. It was great meeting them, they are great ladies! It sure does look like you have a great group of Turkey day cruisers again!
Have a great cruise. I'll be thinking of you all while I'm slaving over my turkey dinner next week, which reminds me I'm supposed to be cleaning the house I better run.

Hey Kathleen!

I'm glad to know that the look on their faces was so memorable! I hope my daughter's reaction is worth it! I can't wait until Saturday morning!! I will definitely let you know how she reacted! :)

Lampy has us fooled. He is not such a big drinker. Who has the empty glass in this sailaway pic?

Here you go:

A: To practice.

A couple of Texas hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911.

He gasps to the operator, "I think my friend is dead! What do I do?"

The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy. I can help. First, lets make sure he's dead."

There is a silence, then a shot is heard.....
The hunter says, "OK, now what?"
