Paul,

It's not how fast you get there, it's HOW you get there. :cool1: The vette tops out at 178, I've never been over 90.. but it gets there instantly.

Doogie....I'm in......Me, Kim, Jess, Alli and Morgan......now to get them up!! :rotfl:

Wow, I have just spent over an hour catching up on 20 pages of posts.

Everyone, try to guilt my DW Lisa into posting. She has been lurking (and filling me in when I haven't been able to read) for the last week. I think with a little encouragement she might respond. And you will find that I will be referring to her to remind me everyones' name on the cruise. She has a very uncanny ability to remember things. Not always a good thing when you are married. :rotfl2:

To catch up on all the posts:

We booked in Aug 2004. We started looking in April, but were waiting to see if DW's parents wanted to come, also. The delay cost us choice of cabin and $$$. :(

The shirts arrived. :bounce: Thanks. And I like the color. We have NEON lime green T-shirts from our school from last year. That is what I was expecting. The pastel lime green is much more soothing. :cloud9: DD-14 wants to wear hers to school - I told her to just not trash it. The check's in the mail.

I don't have a 'vette. Chevy quit making Chevettes before I had a chance to get one. :p However, I do have a dark red Chrysler Sebring Convertible. It doesn't go that fast, but it does look good. :smooth: And the nice thing about Montgomery is I can drive with the top down for 10 months of the year. The other 2 months it is raining. :umbrella: Of course, sometimes I have to run the A/C and sometimes the heat (with the top down, of course). :earboy2: And the front license plate is from Test Track and says "2 GOOFEE"

We also have a 12 foot popup. We spent the early part of Thanksgiving week at FW 3 years ago. Haven't been back to FW since we joined DVC. We don't get out with the popup as much as we want to. The last 2 years we have mainly used it for week long stays at our church family camp. The big trip we did with it was going to Yellowstone NP 3 years ago with our German exchange student. Went from Alabama to St. Louis, Kansas City, Black Hills SD (Custer State Park - a fantastic place to camp!!!), Cody WY, Denver CO, Dodge City KS, Gate OK (to see my 1/9 of 180 acres of prime Great Plains wheat farm), and home through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. We traveled over 5000 miles in 19 days, and went through 18 states. This trip I'm letting someone else do the driving!! :moped:

I guess I should have split this into multiple posts to help us get to 4000. Sorry.

You got it Doogie.....85-90 is cruising speed.....from Crown Point to Gattlinburg...31.3 mpg in 6 1/2 hours 534 miles.

Okay...just a warning to ya'll....you're getting a little cruise happy!!! But if I were in your shoes, I would be, too!!! :cool1:

John of the 5Js...Teresa and I spoke about this dress up act you suggested and she said if you see Mickey and Minnie and they seem a little odd...chances are it's us in disguise and we'll be needing to crash in some one's room. :rotfl2:

And for those of ya'll who've been watching Titanic...I started to watch it yesterday since I hadn't seen it since it came out at the theater, well that was a big mistake...when the passengers were getting on the ship I got all misty eyed and started screaming...."It shoud be me getting on the ship....I wanna cruise and I want it bad"...I didn't realize how addictive they were until now. I called Teresa and boohoo-ed...only she understands...

And just in case Lampy really does bring those overalls on board....will someone get a photo of that? ::yes::

Again, ya'll have a wonderful cruise! Us little ol' landlubbers (not really) will just help your cause and get ya'll to those 4000 post mark ASAP...

OK gang, I just signed up for that photobucket thang... time to post some pics.

Me and DD after hiking up to the top of a 14,265 peak last summer. 6 hrs.

OK- Just to save my hide-and to make sure everyone understands-that picture I posted this morning was a joke.

Here are some real photos from our wedding. I can't believe that it has been 18 years!:

Please note:

1. No mullet.

2. I have sleeves on my tux.

3. No dog present during the wedding.

4. Full sets of teeth in each of us.

5. No bun in the oven.

Not that there is anything wrong with any of the above (Willie). I'm just pointing these things out. Remember, the DW doesn't need to know about this little discussion.

Ok since everyone is adding on to make 4000,

How many are DVC members and what resorts do you own in.

I'll start,
Wilderness Villas and Saratoga Springs joined in 2001

Ken & Mary :cool1: :sunny:

Beautiful pixs. What a lovely bride. I want some of that cake. Dessert bar here I come.

Hi All...

I'm not a DVCer but who knows what may come! never been on a cruise and never been to disney.... boo hiss i know..

everyone's wedding pictures are lovely! I still have not posted pics since i'm more troubled by the fact that i just can't copy and paste...

I did ask earlier about the green luggage tags and I realize that there was some confusion.. I know to wear my shirt to port... I just am not sure about the taggos... anyone else that is flying, when do you green tag? :confused3

also i saw EVERYTHING must be greentagged... is that really so... i certainly don't have enough tags for carryon and all ;) seriously...

I have not started packing but i'm quite sure... that the bags will outnumber the tags!

Question about the photo of last years group... was that everyone or did some get scared away and not show :earseek:

I'm thinking now of the earlier post that I should have broken this down into many miniposts!

Sherri :bounce: :Pinkbounc  :cool1:

Paul- another camper- we seriously will need to arrange a group trip to Ft. Wilderness sometime. We have owned our camper for 5 years now, and have never taken it out of the state of Florida. Ft. Wilderness is 80 miles of flat road from my driveway, so we go there all the time. I'm glad that you like the t-shirts.

Ken- I never joined the DVC. I was always convinced that it did not make sense for us, because we like to go on weekends, and usually on short notice. I have looked into it, and now I wish maybe we had gotten in sooner. We stayed at Saratoga Springs this past August-what a nice resort. We have also stayed at Boardwalk Villas and Vero Beach. I have heard rumors of villas at AKL. If they ever build those, that will get me in for sure.

someone mentioned wrinkles -- had to read alot to catch up so i've lost track of who said what --- if you can find a recent laundry list then ironing only is 50% the cost and well worth it. i will most likely send out the hard to iron dinner items and then either iron some morning ALL my other things, one shot ironfest for me -- and/or buy a small spray of Downy wrinkle releaser spray

wine tasting seminar -- count me in i definately want to go -- i believe we have to get our tickets at guest services for it

thunderstorms are rumbling here tonight -- high of 60 though on saturday perfect day to hang the outside christmas lights. started decorating inside today

i can't imagine keeping this a secret -- someone here is very strong!!!! i understand the girl tween thing -- got an 8th grader here!! my girls are getting pumped for our trip though!

too tired to think anymore! night all

Sherri,

Here's the scoop (ice cream) on the luggage tags. It's quite simple.

1. If you are flying into Orlando on Saturday you need to place your Disney tags on when you leave home before you check your bags in at your departure airport. Also make sure DCL know what flt and time, airline you are flying on. You will not see your bags again until they show up outside your room.

2. If you are flying into Orlando earlier than Saturday you will need to place your tags on your luggage before you leave for the port, either by bus, car or walking :rotfl2: NOT WHEN YOU LEAVE HOME. BUT ON SATURDAY MORNING, IF YOU DO< YOUR BAGS WILL END UP AT THE PORT AND NOT WITH YOU.

3. If you are driving, just make sure those tags are on before you get to the port.

It seems they are only giving 2 tags per person for checked bags, so only checked bags get tags. Just make sure ALL bags including carry-ons have some type of ID and room number on it.

I hope this helps.

PS the Hyatt at the airport has a different policy and they will provide the instructions for baggage pickup. But refer to 2 above while traveling.

Ken

Ken,

Thanks much, we are flying in ahead of time so I guess they are something else to make sure I don't lose!

But when you say "checking" I'm guessing you mean checking in at port?

So anything left tagless I'm left to carry !!!! :rotfl2: whether I want to or not!

Thanks!

Sherri

Molli,

When you started off with "someone mentioned wrinkles" clothes were not my immediate thought :rotfl2: and I was wondering who on earth would talk about wrinkles at a time like this!!!!

Just another post in our quest!

Sherri

Hey magnet and door sign makers-I have the design for the t shirts in a .jpg file. I'm posting it here, but if you want me to e-mail it to you, send me a pm with your e-mail, or you can e-mail me at the address on Ken's spread sheet and I will send it to you. Maybe you can just lift it from here:

This ought to be useful in making door signs and such. Julie-I tried to e-mail this to you tonight, but for some reason was not able to. I'll try again tomorrow.
