potluck05001.jpg

Now that is down right freaky! How did you get a picture of my mother in law?

Andrew (tri-circle-d) (My DW really will kill me if she ever sees this!-let's all keep it out little secret-thanks in advance)

Yeah, Ron, don't make fun of us Southerners! I know you have heard the joke about the rednecks that go to family reunions looking for a date? Well, I met my wife at a family reunion! It is true. She was there with my cousin. They were engaged to be married. But I ended up marrying her instead.
Best steal I ever made!

Willie- My DW is a Southern Gal. She is a fifth generation native Floridian- that is a rare thing around here. Her Father's family comes from Southern Georgia. A little town near Waycross-I can't remember the name right now. We have gone to a couple of family reunions there. They hold them right in the little Baptist Church that bears the family name. The reunions have events for a whole weekend. One night is for men-folk only. My father in law and brother in law brought me. I was the only man there who was not wearing overalls (my FIL and BIL brought theirs from home). Now, that was a memorable evening. I have never heard that much politically incorrect talk ever before or since. It truly was like being in a parallel universe- some of the men there were dead ringers for the fella's in Deliverance. Even though I grew up as a yankee, I have no problem hanging with the good ole boys, but I ain't buying me a set of overalls.

I baught a pair of overalls 2 years ago while camping in southern Indiana....DDs swear that if I put them on they wouldn't come near the campsite.....maybe I'll bring them on the ship!!

Hey, I'm a native Floridian boy!!!! I've got news for you Yankees (which the rest of my family is so I can say that), I've got relatives in Ohio that mess around with each other!!! :rotfl2: :confused3

Magyar-I read a number of posts back that you mentioned something about a banana type drink. I remember having a banana flavored drink on CC back in December. Not sure if there's one on the ship.

Lampy-If you wear that outfit, please wear some 5" high heels with it. :love1: :earseek:

I'd rather see the overalls than your evening gown!

Gina, I live in Lumberton, which is just outside Beaumont, so we are about 75 miles from Pasadena. We have played soccer over in your area aften. I have 8 acres of land, and luckily I only have 3 more trees left to cut and haul. But I need to get them done asap, because FEMA will stop providing debris pickup in a couple of weeks. After that I will have to burn whats left. And we are under an indefinite burn ban in Hardin County.
Where is your camp? Let me guess. Somewhere around Lake Sam Rayburn or Toledo Bend?

Willie

Hi Willie,

It is in Zavalla. So not really that far from you. We have 150 acres and just had a new modular home put on it. I was unsure of the stability and when the storm headed toward that direction, I went to stay with my aunt in her house near Woodville. That was a mistake. The area around their house was thick with trees. NOW they are firewood. My house was totally fine except the deck roof blew off. It's all fine around the house but the trails and road to our pond is covered with trees. And it took weeks to get power back. I really was lucky with all my property but the experience was a nightmare

Wow!! Thanks for keeping me entertained w/ all of the posts!! We have to figure out how we can sign up for all of the "tastings" on board--they should have a special "tasting" session for the disers!!

Lampskie-thanks for the 2 for 1 advice!! Sounds great!!

Buddy Bear-Great wedding pix!! They are beautiful. Chuck and I also had a Disney Wedding--we had our ceremony at the wedding pavillion and the reception at the Grand Floridian. It was my dream come true!! I will ask him if he can post any of the pix. Now everytime we go to WDW and ride the monorail, I nudge him and point and he says "yes dear, I know..."

Lisa

Lampy, if you wear that outfit on formal nite, Ratt45 and I may be hittin on you at dinner!

OK, you guys have convinced me that I have to wear my boots and jeans this year. I don't know if my George Strait Straw will make it through a flight, though. (That's a cowboy hat, Julia)

Gave away all of my overalls back in high school, though. They went out with Hee Haw.

Willie

Okay, I have finally started to get the stuff ready to pack. I am sure I am bringing way too much for myself..... How warm will it really be- like tank top, stiffling heat or shorts and t shirts comfortable....... Pam

Willie, check your aol mail.....

Pam....and all others..........I am packing LIGHT!!!! Just a couple of dress stuuf and lots of tanks and shorts!!!

Somebody needs to tell them fellers in Southern Georgia (my DW's kin) about that news flash. :rotfl2:

I am inspired. I am going to fill both of my suitcases with beer and Hurricane mix, and just wear my cruise t-shirt all week. I'll get me a pair of overalls that I can wear without a shirt on formal night- I should have me a pretty good tan going by then. I hope that I am not too tempted to run off with that pretty gal with the pink dress and black beard- she sure does look a lot like my mother in law.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered several times, so if someone can just provide me with a link to the answer, I'd appreciate it. I need to know what foods/drinks are allowed to be brought on the ship. Specifically, is bottled water allowed? Can I bring snacks for my daughter? Stuff like that! Thanx in advance!! :)

Welcome Fletch!! First of all DON'T bring food....anything you want is there....I did see some people with back of chips and things, but there wasn't anything the CM's couldn't get my DDs, Dw or myself. I always bring on a couple cases of my favorite beverage in my carry on. Water, beer, smoothies are all extra. There is an area on deck 9 where pop, juice, tea and coffe are free....

Pam - Im packing t-shirts, bathing suits & shorts. Flips flops and of course clothes for the evening. Im a OVER PACKER, so im trying to cut down this year. We are coming from Missouri, so I'm wearing my one pair of jeans on the plane down with a sweatshirt.

Good luck.

Thanx for the info, Lampskies! I think I've seen a few pics of your favorite beverage! :rotfl:

Cody's Mom...I am in Columbia, MD. Between baltimore and D.C. I considered driving when it looked like I wasn't gonna be able to get a return flight home, but fortunately, things worked out, and my daughter and I are flying.
