November 19, 2005 Thanksgiving Magic Cruise

Willie did call me back last night when I had "no service" at our Las vegas night. But he left me a message....."I survived Rita even though we were a direct hit, I took it right up the butt (sorry disers that's Willie), I've got 13 trees down, banana and palm trees mostly. I have a window air unit with gererators running. The wife and kids are in Louisiana and are fine. Looks like we won't have power for a couple of weeks. I'm going to be cleaning up for a while getting the banana trees out of the pool, I feel like I am on my own little island, can't wait to get on that ship. Tell all my diser friends that once I get bck up I'll up date them on line, tell them I am safe and thanks."
I offered to send him a "care package" of things he might not be able to get there (the reason my generator is hooked to my pop machine with 650 cans of miller lite....lol sorry couldn't be serious for this long) he said he is o.k. but might take me up on those "omaha steaks" I offered in a few weeks......Now I have to find his addy.......anyone have it? He sent me a c.d. from his office.....I'm sure I can get it from DCL if no one else has it.....

Thanks for keeping tabs on Willie and family! Glad to hear they are all safe and it seems their house is intact. I've not heard from Teresa (silver7) since Thursday evening around 6pm CST...they were just past Sulphur, LA. I called her Friday and left a message, but haven't heard back. I can only assume they made it to family in Texarkana, AR and are fine. I think I'll try to check in with her again today. If you find out anything that can be done for Willie, let us know. I gather though that he's taking care of business...but bet he'd go for a cold Lite any minute.

Lampskies-WOW!I was like who is that.You had me confused there for a second,but after studying all morning it is very easy to do<G>.It is good to hear that Willie and family are fine.It is great to hear they are safe.Prayers and thoughts there way continue!Thanks for keeping us posted!

Hi Laura...When you talk to Teresa, could you tell her I said HI?!! I'm so sorry she is not able to join us this Thanksgiving. Tell her she and her family will be missed and hopefully we can meet again. I would have to go back to my saved messages to find her phone number and email to see if I can reach her when things are settled....tell her we are thinking of them during this hurricane Rita and that everyone is safe.

You have got to get control of your screens!! Imagine what is being said on the teen posts with your screen name!!! I hope it has nothing to do with liking boys bands or what clothes to wear. Although judging by some of the pix you posted, you may have some issues.

i would be more than happy to send Willie a 'care' package if there are things he needs and maybe can't easily get right now. no power for two weeks right? that's terrible

toiletries, powerbars, books, magazines, homemade cookies?????? ron - PM me his address if you think a package might cheer him up? i could send him my 2nd edition Passporter for reading or would that just make time go s l o w ! ! ! ! !

O.K......paying attention to the screen name now......yes, I DID talk to Willie earlier today and he sounded more "up beat' he told me there are only 5 families in his subdivision there.....real quiet....I said "that's bad?" He told me that he sat on the deck mixed himself some.....yes.....hurricanes!!! He said "don't worry Lampy I have 6 cases of miller lite" to which I wondered....what about tomorrow? He said thanks all for the prayers and concern and can't wait to see us all on the cruise...he's going to send me pics from his camera phone.....I'll post them when I get them........

I did try to call Teresa...just got her voice mail, so I'm assuming they are okay. Julia, I will pass along your message when I get to speak with her. If by chance you get her before I do...that is if the real Lampskies sends you her number...let us know she's okay!

Glad to hear that Willie is keeping his spirits up...no pun intended ya'll! Keep us updated okay?

I did have to say that when I found out that the two big college football teams in Texas were having their football game early on Thursday instead of postponing like some of the other teams in the state, I couldn't help but think of Willie...they do love their football in Texas!

Lampy-are you gonna have enough Miller to carry in your luggage? ...Wouldn't it be shooked up so much during the flight that by the time you open it, it turns flat??!!!
