Ok, so my kids do not want to do anything pirate related - should I get them hats or something piratey anyway? They have not seen Pirates of the Caribbean due to NO interest. Does everyone dress up? Also, I think dh and I are doing palo that night - can we skip the whole pirate thing?
Also, ds is asking me incessantly, so what do we do AS SOON AS we get on the ship. I'm telling him we will check out the ship, maybe go to the pool, eat lunch etc. Is that reasonable?? Can someone please tell him so he will stop asking MEMethinks he senses my uncertainty as to what we will be doing period!
I'm feeling so inadequate not knowing what to expect! Don't have my documents either - TA is out of town for major surgery so don't know if she has them or not.
I'm starting to stress that I don't have enough clothes, etc. Will 2 swimsuits per kid and adult suffice or should I get more? Anyone else want to post their packing lists to give me ideas???
Kids club questions too - ds is 11, dd is 9. I take it 11yo can sign himself in and out but 9yo can't??? Do I want to allow this or have an option not to? 11yo is very responsible but I don't like the idea of him roaming the ship. Do they still do the wave phones? Can I give it to the 11yo to keep track of him? Also, is the tween club attached to the kids club? I'm telling ds he has to check on dd for me, is that possible? I'm hoping the kids will be entertained a lot and I can relax! Please tell me this is realistic!!
Both of my kids are asking me for blow by blow details of what happens each day. I start each day with, "well, first we sleep in..." Again, please tell me this is realistic!!
thanks!!!!!

Ok lets start with day one. Wear swim suits under clothes and once you board do lunch then go to pool. Your luggage may not come to later on anyways. At 4pm is the safety drill and at 5 is the cast off dance party.
As ScottJim had mentioned, you will get the Navigator the night before. This is broken down further into age groups. There are several activities per time slot. I too bring a highlighter which is especially good for marking character times.
Kids clubs- check in, in the terminal which is much easier. You will receive a paiger and the kids get bracelets. The teen room is in the smokestack (deck 11) and the kids club are on deck 5. My daughter was 8 last year and it was her second cruise on the Magic. I let her walk to specific locations eg photo shop and back etc. She knew the ship better than us. This year, we are bringing walkie talkies.
Pirates- they give you bandanas at dinner, eye patches are cheap you could always grab them in case they want to be pirates last minute. Beware that plastic swords may not make through airport security.
Clothes- I pick two color catagories so we all match for pics. This year I am doing coral and blue.
My daughter will have two skirts, 4 tops for dinner, one nice skirt and top for semi formal night, one dress for formal, two pairs of shorts (one of which she will be wearing) for excursions etc., 3 tee shirts, one cover up 2 bathing suits, one sweatshirt, one nightgown, one pair of dress shoes one flip flops one sneakers.
Sam (son) one dress pants and vest and longsleeve shirt semi formal night, one pair of pants, 4 dress shirts, 3 shorts, two bathing suits, 5 tee shirts. Black shoes, crocks, sneakers, one sweatshirt one pair of pjs. One hat.
I usually always buy the kids pjs on the ship so I may skip packing them.
Me-one dress, two pairs (maybe one) of capri's 4 dressy shirts (may cut to 2), 2tanks, 2 tees one pair of shorts, one sweatshirt, sneakers, one pair dressy shoes, one pair flips, pirate dress 2 bathing suits, cover up, pjs.
this is our 3rd annual disney cruise (2nd double dip) first year I had 7 suitcases. Last year 4 (one of which was enormous). There are not alot of coat hangers, closet space or drawer space. Flip flops are fine for dinner (I have a gold pair from old navy that can look dressy) Two pairs of socks per person fine. You can probably go without the sneakers except we are flying in from boston so we may need them. We wear our heaviest clothes on the plane. You are not in any one outfit for more than a few hours try to wear each a couple of times. Doing laundry is not bad. The machines are on the second floor and you can use your room key. Put detergent in a small 3oz bottle and bring from home.
My goal this year is everyone gets one carryon suitcase- however, then they cannot stack into eachother. FYI no room under bed for suitcases.
