November 12, 2011 - Magical Double Dip!

Thank you for all the warm welcomes. You’re right it will be here very soon. I love the double dip, especially the first visit. When you only visit once it’s at the end of the cruise so, despite the paradise I find myself in, an occasional thought will sneak into my head about packing, filling out the customs forms, the flight home…. (another words REALITY). But on the first visit of a double dip my only thoughts are of pure relaxation.

This is only our second cruise....but it is our second double dip. We were originally schedule to go at the start of Dec as a celebration cruise for DS's first birthday. But we figured we'd still be celebrating if we went a half month early and I think at nearly 1 he'll appreciate an extra day on the beach more so than the exact date of our celebration.

This will be our first double dip and I am the same way as you on that last day. It's kind of a sad day since you know its the last day of your cruise, but being able to have 2 stops there just seems ideal to me! I can't wait, only 105 days til we leave for Florida!!! Glad it won't be as hot then too! I like warm weather but there is a bigggg difference between being warm and being miserable!

The last time we sailed on the Magic, we were at castaway cay and the Wonder sailed by. There they were side by side blowing their horns to each other. We were all on the shore with cameras clicking away like the paperatsi. The Wonder stayed for about 20 minutes before sailing away. It was quite a sight…..and sound. A duet of When You Wish Upon A Star or at lease the first few bars of it. Talk about making a memory!

Hi All!

I am getting our cruise girls together this weekend for another one of our get togethers and it's getting close now so it's so exciting

A little background about our crew, we all ourselves "The Disney Chix" and this is my fourth cruise, the third with the Chix. This time it is six of us ladies some leaving the spouses for the week to hang with the Chix and have FUN We have two new recruits this year so we are going to initiate them so to speak this weekend They have heard about the Chix but now they will be experiencing them! Each of us is assigned a character which I tried to associate with their personality a bit

So sorry girls....we will have a cold one to toast you!

So, our gathering this weekend is to get the newbies excited and initiated. I have both FE's made and hanging with gifts for each of them. I got them each mini cruise ships ornaments from a catalog and drew hidden Mickey's and the date on them. And then I found mini fans at Walmart yesterday so I put them in the packages. We are having a mini FE this weekend! Practice!! I also made them each a booklet, coded of course with their own character, with sample Navagators of what to expect on each day and packing lists and oh it's going to be so fun and overwhelming for the newbies while the rest of us sit w/our umbrella drinks! Going to make Rootbeer floats with umbrellas too! And we will feel right at home as it's going to be almost 90 every day this week and I don't have a/c at my house. We will be on the porch!

They already have their shirts for the cruise that the DISsigners helped me make....special shout out to Jordak and Millie and all others who helped!

So, if you find yourselves in the Buffalo NY area Saturday night, stop by and have a cold one with The Chix!

I am one of those with Mary Jo and we had a BLAST at the get together! Cold ones were had by all!

We are getting more excited about the trip and just looking forward to getting away. The FE's are new to me, but MJ made sure we are prepared! Thanks MJ!!! Looking for a few more "kid friendly" fillers, but all in all, we are ready!

This cruise can't get here fast enough!!!

I think that the cut-off date for the FE's, should be at or around the 75 day mark. Does anyone have any objections to that? We could close the FE's officially on September 1st which is 73 days from our actual sail date. Does this work for all involved?

We will tentatively set it at that date so if anyone has any objections to that please let me know

Gift Exchange Info

Meet & Greet in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:00pm on Embarkation Day!!!!
We will meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm before the muster drill and sail-away to get to know one another briefly, put names to faces, and for those of you who would like to participate, we will also have a gift exchange!

Here's how it works:
Each family will bring a small gift to represent the area they are from, aka their hometown/state For example you could bring something from a local store like maybe a trinket from an artist in your hometown or if you are into sports bring something to represent your favorite home team. Last cruise on DCL, the gift I received was from a very sweet lady from Texas, she brought some local spices & coffee, along with a little Texas BBQ cookbook. It was really cool! It's just a simple gift nothing extravagant, that is unless you wanna give me a free cruise

No seriously just something light and fun.

At the meet & greet, I will have name-tags to hand out where we will put our DIS name along with our real name, so that we can identify one another easily Then for each person or family who has brought a gift, when you come in find me, I will be handing out some lei's & up at the bar looking like I am in charge : Also I'll be wearing a name-tag At that point I'll write down your name & put it into a bowl/hat for the drawing part. I will also jot your name down on a list of who is actually participating in the exchange. That way everyone who brings a gift will receive one in return You hang onto your gift and have a seat, get to know some other people, have a drink, just relax

Around 3:30pm, which should give everyone enough time to mosey on down, we will begin the exchange I will call a name from the list and that person will come up pull a name from the drawing pool and exchange gifts with the person whose name they have drawn.

Very simple lots of fun and it ensures that each person who brings shall receive And no one is pressured into bringing something, it's completely up to each family, but please do come and hang out with us either way!!!

Can't wait! It's gonna be sooooo much fun!!
