November 12, 2005 RETURNS

Wow!!! You guys are too much! I have been away for a while and now re-interested with sailing DCL again............and to find you guys still chatting is AWESOME! Love it! We are well traveled and almost (kinda but not really-----it's all relative, right?------BROKE).....but looking at rebooking for Spring Break 2009. We just returned from La Paz, MX and sailing up into the Sea of Cortez.......yes, some of you would be mightly proud of us now scuba certified and loving it! And we went for 10 days to Maui in Oct prior to that! So fun and such varying vacations!!!! I would love to still chat with you aLL SO please speak up!
We would be lucky to get our sorry butts on the ship at all this coming March 21st for a straight 7 night Western.......which we have never done. This would be our 4th DCL 7 nighter. I am looking at booking at Guarantee cat 12 and gambling with our good luck (just got hugely upgraded at the Grand Wailea on Maui!!!!) and we did as well at the Hilton Wailea on the Big Island.
Crossing our fingers and still dreaming.........

Hope all is well with you fine folks.............

It's the Nurse! It's great to hear from you! I think you're broke 'cause you haven't had time to work with all of your vacationing! Are you finding it hard to remember where you live? Need a map to find your house? :rotfl2:

Did you dive in Maui? Molokini? Lanai?

The Sea of Cortez was on a friends boat? That must have been great! Or maybe you're just making up this whole travel, travel, travel story. Because, if you really went, there would be PICTURES! :)

NO current travel plans here! ICK!

Yipppeee - another certified Scuba Diver......now you have another reason to travel. I logged my 100th dive something this summer - can you believe it. Our November cruise was my 3rd dive....WOW,,,,,,,

We are planning on another cruise in November 2009, and diving will be included. But then we love the Magic. I never did finish the album of the Panama Trip - maybe over the holidays, if so, watch out - more pictures.

Meanwhile, let's not stay away so long.

A very Merry, Merry Christmas to everyone as well.

I was just thinking that it has been 3 years since our November 2005 cruise, can you imagine that?

Sending greetings of Christmas's past.

Hey scarey one! I'm home for just 5 mins, then off to do traffic crossing duty at the school!

A new puppy!! oooooooo, can we see a picture?

Yes, we are going to Mexico again this year! Just really nice to not have to fly anywhere. The Mariner is coming to California now, so we are looking forward to seeing her.

We did DL durning Dec. and had such a great time! Stayed at Disney Hotel and did all the birthday stuff for 4 days!

Are you going this week? Gosh, we should come up and see you:scratchin

Hello to everyone!

Hi folks - we have another November cruise planned this year....As stated, great not to fly - the Magic will be in Port Canveral then.

We had a nice pre-Christmas trip to WDW - I love Candlelight - and the Osborn Lights are neat as well.

No new puppy (or kitty) (or birdie) for us. Does the turtle that fell in the pool count?

Meanwhile, I have not figured out how to retire and continue to cruise, so must spend 5+ days a week at work. But, folks are nice and the rewards are --- well Crusin' to say the least.

Happy New Year All..

WOW!This thread is still alive? I am busting up laughing:rotfl:at the last few of you diehards still on a rare occasion yucking it up! Fact is I have disapeared from the DIS boards all together until just now in recent years cause we are toying with the idea of jumping on the Wonder for a 4 night next March 2010. BOO HISS.....:confused3I know....I swore I would never do such a thing..........but it is me and my girlfrinds and kids so should be fun!
No, dear hubby will miss out and we will feel kinda guilty but he needs to work after already have taken other mass vacations........you are right scary man!......a little bit broke and and little bit sheepish after Sea of Cortz on the yacht and now another BIG one comign up this Nov to the Grenadines off the coast of Venezuela with the same crazy dive friends~

So fun and so irresponsible!:banana:But so the way we want to live~:rolleyes1

Hope all is well with all of my longtime DIS buddies!

Good Luck Dis Nurse - and howdy everyone....There is a reason Disney suggests not bookign flights that early - you "might" make it, if the ship docks and time and it is not the only time that passengers are not held back - we all know the stories. You could try a taxi (no clue the price) and you might make it, if there is not traffic-accidents etc. (The ride should be about an hour - should be is the key phrase. And then you need to get through MCO. (how long for that?). There is a thread on this that you can find better answers on. My suggestions - why ruin a peaceful vacation because of the stress of the last day catching a plane - unless of course you have to. Sorry....

This is a quote on another thread....

As you said, DCL recommends that you not book before 12:30. However, they book people on 11:30 flights! I wouldn't go a minute before 11:30.

We've been at MCO as early as 9 am. However, we've also had a cruise where the big doors didn't open till 9:10.

Go to breakfast on deck 9 if you don't have main seating. Plan to be off the ship as soon as they open the big doors, and you'll be fine! If you are in the "first flow" off the ship, the bus will be departing for MCO almost immediately (each one leaves as it fills up).

Thanks for all of that!....great info...yeah, I would be taking a chance for sure! The flight is already a done deal....leaving on a thursday at 11:36 (United). Tell me if you think this would work....have a private shuttle waiting for us (not sure what time to tell them).....and run off the ship first thing!.....I have used a private shuttle before to get from MCO to Ron Jon's....was prob more than I needed to spend but it got us there!

Do you think that would be a reliable mode of transportation and more importantly, FASTER?:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Disnurse - cannot help on the type of transport - so sorry - I am afraid you may need to search the main boards. :scared1:

But - you have a trip planned  wish we could go with you....
