November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Today must go put up shuters - did Mother's yeserday - docs are in a secure place. Time for early Mass and then work....

Got up this morning and decided I needed to start early doing the no tropical storms dance. :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: This better work , but just in case I'll use a little pixie dust. :wizard:

good morning all, just caught the news reports on wilma and alpha. hope everyone is safe and secure.

today is "dump run" day for us. mil is here and will stay with the kiddos while we toss the old sofa as well as various other stuff we've collected that the trashmen will not haul away.

doing some "loose ends" stuff-called super shuttle planning on using them for airport transportation and learned that while they will do a ressie for travel to the airport (15 minute window) they won't for a return (have to wait until you've gotten the luggage and then go to their desk and request the shuttle-anticipated wait time from request 45-60 minutes :guilty: ) so i contracted with a local provider we've used in the past (so much for saving a few $$). seriously thinking of sewing handles on to ds pj's, with a 4:45 a.m. shuttle pickup it may be the easiest way to get him into the shuttle and airport :rotfl: seriously, i may just hit disnurse's favorite store and grab an unmbrella stroller he can sleep in at the airport. if i do so, are there any of you out there who would like it for use on the cruise or to keep for use upon disembarkation (saves me from hauling it home and finding someone to give it to :) ). dh took his bargain tux in for a fitting, and i was very happily surprised when i tried on some of my dress clothes that had been stored away-they all fit as some are a bit loose (i suspected that while i have still not hit my weight goal i had lost some extra inches) :) .

don't everyone exhaust themselves with packing!

p.s. anyone looking for ps2, gameboy...games? toys r us (store and online) has a buy 2 get 1 free sale going on.

You will be able to keep your car at the hotel lot for up to 2 weeks in some cases and take their shuttle. Depending on the hotel it will be cheaper than parking and you will not have to get up as early. Call the hotel directly and ask for their stay and fly rate. It is running us $95 and the hotel is 10 min away from the airport with free breakfast.

we always do this if we fly out of san francisco (there's an embassy suites that kicks in 2 hours of free cocktails the night before as well :teeth: ). but for sacramento the area around the airport is pretty ick and mostly industrialized. plus i don't get kiddies whining to go in the hotel pool and have to travel with wet bathing suits :rotfl2:

Choc Marg,

I didn't realize that you were in Phoenix. We were at the Marriott Desert Ridge for 5 nights for a conference DH was involved with. Nice place. Will meet you at 3 at theatre for $$/bracelet exchange.

Prince Hayley's Mom,

Thanks for the tip on FL tours. Was previously booked with Happy Limo, but cancelled after I got the confirmation that indicated that additional fees would be applied (such as 20% service charge in ADDITION to gratuity, $2.50 tolls, $10 airport surcharge). I understand gratuity, but SERVICE CHARGE, too??? Anyway, FL tours has no hidden fees.

Gotta start packing!!!

Jennifer

Too bad we didn't know. We live 5 miles from that Marriott. I probably saw you at the shopping center across the street at one point last week :) In fact, awoltoday (DH) was at the Kinko's there earlier in the week. Very small world!!

Welcome, 4campers!! Glad you found us!!! 3 weeks from tonight we should be in our formals,,right??? Barkley,,,it sounds like you may need to pack a needle and thread if you keep loosing those inches!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! :cheer2:

Batten down the hatches! Looks like Wilma's trying to pick up a little steam in it's run on FL. She's back into category 3. Take care and good luck! :wizard:

Best Wishes from Oregon! I want the storm to pass so you can focus on PACKING!......the important things in life!

No kidding, I watch the Weather Channel religiously! :sunny:

I am also pretty obsessive about weather all around the gammet.
Do you think for a minute that I am NOT obsessed about the recent Cancun and Cozumel set backs? We are headed there in March and from the sounds of it, the place is FLATTENED! :guilty:

Just saying hi. I just got back from Disneyland today and need to catch up on some reading.

Good news was my docs came while I was gone.

Hope everyone in the path of the storm are ok.

Amazingly we are getting lots of wind from this storm all the way up in North West Georgia! Knocking down all my Halloween decorations outside. I can't imagine being in Florida right now! Am watching the news and they just said it's moving so fast it should be out in the Atlantic by lunch time!

Remember that C&D&F asked us to save #1900 for her when she gets back online! So watch your posts!!! :ssst:
