November 11 nothing???

Can anyone enlighten me? MS said there was nothing in studio at ANY DVC, so I booked cash at SSR for that night to go with the next 2 nights. I even had her check on diff size at SSR and nothing AT ALL for that night. She could only find a 2BR (don't even remember where now, not SSR), but I was surprised. I thought with Food Fest ending everyone would be going home...

I did waitlist for that night of course, but really wanted to stay at BCV this trip (I know, who am I kidding...)

I had a similar occurrence for a trip later in October... It's what is happening more often that not right now...

I put myself onto a waitlist for every DVC resort for a 1 Bedroom for the one night I was waiting for... Sure enough it came through within a week...

Keep the faith... You might not get BCV but you'll get something...

Here in the U.S. November 11 is Veterans Day which makes for a holiday weekend. It is Remembrance Day in our neighbors' Canada. Holidays do mean booked DVC resorts usually, and it is advisable to make plans at least 7 months ahead, if not 11 months. Glad you were able to get the room for cash!

I would be shocked if you did get something. As DVC grows, it will be harder and harder to get ressie's on short notice. And yep, 3 months notice is short notice in my opinion. Don't fret, your waitlist should be successful.

Since that is part of a long weekend type holiday here, I would expect it to be booked at this late date.

I called this morning for a studio at SSR Nov. 11-17 and got all dates except Nov. 11. I'm on a waitlist.

Thanks for the replies - I did realize it was Veteran's Day cause that's why we can go , but I really thought folks would be going for the weekend then leaving on Monday. I'm still in the mindset of non-DVC as to crowded, etc. I'm getting an education on DVC crowds -- thanks again!

The 11th is also the weekend of "Jersey Week". All of the public schools close Thursday and Friday for a convention and lots of families head to Florida

Yup. it's Jersey Week, We will be there! We arrive on the Thursday the 8th, leave on Tuesday the 13th, Kids out of school on 8th & 9th for teachers convention, We keep them out on 12th & 13th, Gives us a nice 6 day vacation before the holiday season. The night of the 12 is the first night of the MVMCP, gets us into the holiday spirit!!

I just booked two nights in a studio two weeks out for SSR. So it happens, the above situation has nothing to do with DVC popularity.

Think about it- Jersey Week, Veterans Day, Final day of Food and Wine Festival, AND the Super Soap Weekend at MGM.

I check into the BCV using points on the 11th and stay till the 16th
currently i have BCV mbr cash disc for 11/9-11 (which I may or may not give up)
