November 11, 2012 on the Disney Dream!!

Any repeat cruisers know about their phone/internet plans? My father in law is having a fit about not being able to checking in on the family business.

Internet access as follows ...

Pay as you go - $0.75 per minute
50 min for $27.50 ($.55 per minute)
100 min for $40 ($.40 per minute)
250 min for $75 ($.30 per minute)

Cell phone service ...

Prices can vary - generally between $4 and $8 per minute, depending on your wireless carrier. Available 12 miles out to sea and further in stateroom only. There may be an Internet cafe with rental cell phone for international calling in the Port of Nassau. Probably looking at about $5 to $10 US for 30 minutes.

So far, so good. The Tropics and Atlantic basin are quiet and inactive. Hoping it stays that way.

Just simply have had one for my entire life. Not a special status that guarantees me one. ;)

Hello Everyone,

Booked this cruise last week for DH and myself. We sailed on the Wonder to Alaska in June (DH's first cruise) and while on that cruise booked on the Dream for a Vow Renewal for us and the whole family Jul 2013. That cruise seemed so far away, so booked this cruise. Sailed on the Dream last July and the grandkids loved it. There is so much for them to do on and off the ship.pixiedust:

Received our stateroom last week. Please add us to the roll call. We will not participate in the FE this cruise.

We are so excited to be going on our first Dis Cruise on the Dream, Nov. 11th. I've been reading up about the Fish Extenders - Love the idea! How would we get to be a part of this exciting event? We are Staying in Cabin # 8156 - Susan (38) Jeff (39) Owen (5) and Jake (1) . Can someone advise how we get involved in the FE group? Sounds exciting!!! Thanks!

Just realized that I forgot to add your info to the "roll call" on the 1st post of our thread :rolleyes1 Your info has now been added :thumbsup2

We Finally told the kids last night that we are going Disney cruisin' on Sunday!
At first they were in disbelief...and then the screams of joy erupted! :cheer2:

Daniel (10) was running in circles...not knowing what to do first!
Madison (12 as of Weds) was so stunned she had to sit down and process what was going on.
And little Mia (3) princess: ran straight up to her room and packed her suitcase!
They can't believe we are leaving in 2 days!!

Neither can I...I've got to finish packing! :thumbsup2

See you all real soon!!
Rachelle

Had a wonderful time on the cruise. The weather was perfect. Loved watching all of the little Princesses and Pirates. Looking forward to our family cruise in July on the Dream!!!!:hourglass

The cruise was unbelievable! This was our first time, and it totally blew away our every expectation. The ship was incredible, and the staff and crew attended to us like royalty. And as an added bonus ... the weather couldn't have been any nicer. A bit windy at the beginning of the cruise, but you honestly could not have scripted a better day at Castaway.

We can't wait to go back again, and are already looking into a May or November cruise on The Dream. The whole family agreed - hands down - this was THE best vacation we have ever taken.

... also, the classic Disney cartoon channel on the ship was a huge hit with the boys. I have to admit - even my wife and I stopped and watched a few cartoons. And it has been YEARS since either of us has even given a thought to a TV cartoon that wasn't a feature-length film.

Realityland, I'm so glad you did not have to cancel your trip! So glad everyone was healthy enough to go. We also had a good time. Staff were good overall, but I have to say that our cabin steward was only mediocre. We liked most things on this cruise, and think we might go on another Disney cruise. Man, that's a lot of kids! We have cruised on many other lines, and even knowing it was a Disney cruise it was still a little overwhelming. My daughter had a great time, even though the club was a bit much for her.

I was truly amazed at how little motion we had this go-around. Fantastic weather, great for Castaway especially.

To address the issue of the cabin steward being mediocre - we've had cruises where we just didn't mesh with a member of the team. At the end of the day you're interacting with a lot of people and a lot of cultures and sometimes it's only "ok". Sometimes they are brand new. Sometimes they are ready to go home and have a break! I just try to remember that everyone is working hard while I'm on vacation and that usually alters my perspective a bit. There is always at least one CM that goes over and above. Magic!
