I don't know if this counts or not but in regards to the packing: I get everything for everyone out on the beds with the coresponding suitcases. DH then processed to twist, fold, shove and manuever everything that I have laid out in the suitcases. Once he has finally cursed enough for all the Pirates of the Caribbean and has gotten them closed....I then proceed to find other "gotta pack this too's" he then gives me a "look" says another few choice words and proceeds to get whatever items I have "got to have" into whatever room left in whoever's suitcases he can find. This has led to my oldest's pure look of horror when he has found tampons shoved in with his socks in the outer pocket!!!

Gotta love it!!!

I could just picture my oldest son's horror if that had happened to him.

Back to cleaning/laundry/packing.

Hello All,

For any of you who have a Disney Visa and have been racking up the Disney reward points/dollar don't forget to call Disney Visa and order your reward card. Just called and they promised I would have mine by 10/31. That's about as close as I like to cut things. You can use the card just like money to pay your account on board the ship.

I love the gift. Wow what a thank you gift. I do hope it does include two of the bags and cups. My 6 year olds twins will be fighting over those.

There is the one (white) tote, the red mesh bag (this is back-pack style) and the blue mesh bag (that is laundry-bag style). There are two cups and two wrist bands (one red, one blue)....so there shouldn't be any fighting over those!

OK…now for this DH’s not packing, the real reason is, we would do it all wrong even if DW gave us written directions and mostly because we would not leave half of the space in our bags for DW overflow. This creates another moral dilemma, do another thing wrong or just don’t do it at all. As for the fellow DH’s out there that let their DW’s pack for them, don’t make the mistake that I have made and ever comment on what is or is not in your bags. Also we should be on the document watch, they say two weeks but they are mostly closer to three weeks.

This made me laugh! Poor kid, emotionally scarred! At least, he wasn't unrolling his socks in a locker room at school!

Peg...I'm not worried about the gift baskets, really. It's not like the kids NEED anything that will be put in there. And, I wasn't annoyed, just really surprised that I called to give a small business some business, they said to call back in 5 days, and someone else had been helped right away. I'll try on Monday, but if that doesn't work, my ever suffering kids will just have to be basket-less and won't even know it.

Packing? I may do all the packing on family trips (somehow Surly manages to pack himself for every business trip without any input from me!), but poor Surly is the designated wage-earner and luggage lugger. I'll join the packing sisterhood, but I greatly prefer it to the pack mule brotherhood!

Carolyn, I just think that phone conversation is really wierd. It is not like any reports we have ever heard about Shirley. I'm betting that was not Shirley at all. Maybe she had to leave early and the other person got flustered? I'd definitely give her another chance. I'm going to call next week too.

Wendy, I'm thinking a visit to your post office and speaking to a supervisor might be in order Hopefully, if there was any kind of trouble getting to you, they will be returned to me, but I'm thinking you have mail carrier issues. I remember a story about a Chicago mail carrier who burried bags of mail in his back yard!! (I had a nagging feeling we should have used FedEx or UPS).

I'll check on my 'leftovers' tonight, I'm not sure if I have enough to cover your whole group, but we may be able to come close.

Three weekends left (for most of us) before climbing into a plane (or car) for sunny Florida. As Alisbarc said....get those rewards cards ordered! Got anything big you need to buy (I need new tires), do it now and earn the rewards. Also, probably the last chance for ordering any supplies/clothes on line and getting them in time.

Has anyone recieved Docs yet? We booked through Costco this time. Anyone know if we will receive things in the mail the same as if we'd booked through DCL?

Dee, we need to add the Bananas Foster Martini to the drink list!!!! I'll look up the ingredients this weekend. Sounds so yummmy.....perhaps the perfect drink for the 'sisters' meeting.

I was told docs would likely not print until sometime next week (checking on some other docs with DCL for a client.)
If you did an online check in you will only get minimal docs (Bahama immigration form I believe and luggage tags, etc.)
Be sure if you did an online check in to print your forms as well.

Not a biggie Pat, some people on another purchased water from Staples and tried to have it delivered to the port, and the port refused delivery. I'm sure it was shipped simply in shrink wrap, and since DCL sells bottled water, they refused it. Personally, we used bottled water on excursions, but on the ship, the tap water tasted fine (and I'm a nut for filtered water - I don't do tap water at home).

Here's the bananas foster martini receipe I found:

Vodka, banana liqueur, espresso, Godiva chocolate liqueur, vanilla ice cream and powdered cocoa....mixed in a blender. I don't know...I think if there's ice cream in it, it isn't REALLY a martini. But it sure sounds yummmmy!
