I've spoken to Nona...at THE PEFECT GIFT!!!!:cheer2: :wizard: :Pinkbounc

I just gave it ONE MORE SHOT...

Not going to say what I've ordered...cuz that's a surprise!

Just can't contain the excitement, right Peggy :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :thumbsup2

As for the ruins tour, everyone who has responded is in favor of paying the extra couple of dollars and being picked up at the port. I am still waiting to hear from a couple of people before I get back with Ivan about it. We've also got a couple of families (alisbarc and one other I believe) that are looking to join the tour if any opening come up. Jackie had the idea that maybe on our DIS-Navigator we should have a section of people who couldn't get on the tour and would like to be contacted if anyone has to cancel once we're on the ship. This sounded great to me, how does it sound to you all?

Regarding the donations. It seems many people from the cruise critic board also donate to the local schools. Woody had a great idea about cash donations. We've many friends who've been missionaries in other countries, and sometimes cash allows them to make repairs and such that would otherwise not get done. For those who still wish to donate specific items, this note is from an e-mail Ivan sent to Gail on anther cruise thread.

"...It's great to know that you are interested in helping our children and we really appreciate that. As you mention many people have supported our children by bringing school supplies for them. I could say that anything that can be used at school would be highly appreciated. Even one pencil or a glue stick can make a difference for them, you can also be sure that they will give these supplies a good use."

and also "...I could say that anything is useful for the children, in addition to school supplies, some people have brought them used clothes and even soccerballs and basketballs. At the moment they have a couple of spare basketball and soccerballs that will last them for a while..."

So, whatever (if anything) you feel led to donate it seems would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup2

southwest just opened up dates for the cruise dates so I got my mom booked from PHL-MCo for $149 RT. Not bad but I will watch for a DING fare!

Mom got her snorkle mask at www.snorkle-mart.com and she got the cheapest one and she likes it a lot.

I got in touch with giftsofalifetime and they are charging $200 for an event on the cruise. Compared to the $350 and up that they charge on land...I don't think it's that bad. Besides I never had a honeymoon so this is my "honeymoon-10th anniversay" cruise. That's once in a lifetime right? :teeth:

Mom2of2, could you explain that giftsofalifetime a little more to me, please? The website wasn't overly helpful. My DD turns three on the boat, but $200 is alot for someone that age and it sounded like they only did for 5 and over any. And what, exactly, is an "event?"
Any more info on all that would be great....

Just called Jackie to get our flights arranged!!!!! She wants to use her Disney card for points... YIPEE!!!! :cheer2: :wizard:

We are going to FLORIDA to catch our SHIP!!!!! YIPEE - now I feel like it's OFFICIAL!!!

AIRLINES BOOKED! :cheer2:

Rewards points will buy us a couple of cups of cappachino I think.

I'm for sure going to donate money to the children... every October I make my yearly donations and pick the charities (i like to mix things up) and this year I'll make them one of them! So cool - I'm crusing and doing good!

18.5 hours till we leave for DISNEYLAND!!!!:thumbsup2

I'm going between a vow renewal and a scavenger hunt on board

I've decided to make our own baskets for the cruise and ship them down beforehand. I am making 3 baskets, one for DH and I, :lovestruc (didn't have honeymoon either and we are celebrating 20 years) one for the boys, :cool1: :cool1: (who have their own room, yippee!) and one for our friends who are cruising with us. party: About an hour and half from the house is an international store that is as large as a Walmart called Jungle Jims and I am picking up unusual stuff from there. I'm a hands on kind of gal so this will satisfy my control freak side!

:tinker:

Hi Cruise :boat: Buddies!

Summer is a busy time for me - I go to my summer place and don't have internet there....
it looks as if my house renovations are comming to an end by next week  :dance3:  so hopefuly we can get our house back together.....
I know Linda already spoke for me but getting picked up at the dock for our ruins tour would be GREAT - just stroll off the ship...
no worries about getting there on time....and then we can decide what to do on the way back.....

I hope everyone else is enjoying the summer......I don't want to 'rush' it but after Labor Day the time will FLY BY and we will be cruising :boat:

Linda and Sarah, did you book your air?
Remember Southwests' cheap fairs are on Tues/Wed/Thursday on the web...and are you staying a few extra days with us?
We are flying home on Tuesday evening.

I am in sticker shock at the airfare. :sad2: Maybe we will drive again. Don't know yet. Will let you know.
Congrats on paying off the cruise....it feels so good!

Shelly, great idea! Looks like a bunch of us are celebrating an anniversary. DH and I will be celebrating our 34th anniversary (and they said it wouldn't last, :lmao: ) on 11/18.

I can't stand being on page 2. :teeth:

Question of the day.

What is the one thing you are looking forward to the most? I know it's hard to pick just one, there are so many.

My favorite would be coming over the bridge and seeing the Magic waiting for me. Feels like home. :sunny:

We did the gifts of a life time for my DIL birthday at WDW. She did a spin on the amazing race. It was so much fun. She is great to work with as well.

Well, Jeff has to think about it...... :confused3

For me, I'll be a good girl and go with the obvious.....getting married :bride: but really I'm looking forward to lounging at Quiet Cove listening to the Caribbean version of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot".... :teeth:....while having a "shot"....or a whole drink.....

Haleigh said it all....."Mickey Mouse"

renewing our vows and spending time with the things that I value the most my children amd my wife. After todayI need some relaxition. As my farther would say like a bug dummy I crashed on my Dirt bike testing a new tire and sproket. Dinged up some ribs (bruised I think) nothing serious just some soreness and my pride.

What do I love most??? Just being there... away from all the media images of what life should be like.
I LOVE to just live in the moment of the cruise, away from all the responsibilities that go along with my daily life (other than the part about being a wife and mom). ;) I LOVE being away from the pressures, and being free to just have fun with my friends and family! In general, I love the fantasy life of Disney vacations, but the cruise is by far the best Disney vacation because I get to see the ocean, feel the waves, and relax! :cloud9:

DW and I, arm in arm, watching a spectacular sunset and laughing at our former problems.
