From everything I have read and heard as rumors, all-be-it they are well founded rumors, we are NOT going to Cozumel afterall. I am okay with that. How about Grand Caymen? Do you actually think they would send us to Nassau? :confused3

On december 03 05 cruise we supposed to go to nassau in stead we went to costa maya. their were many un happy people who complained. about nassau

I thought Cozumel was only 'out of the question' through the spring...at least officially. To me the logical replacement would be Grand Caymen, because I think they can do that port without totally revising the itinerary. That is, stop there on Wednesday. Nassau would require switching around sea days etc, as it would have to be at the front of back end of the trip. Of course, you never know what other cruise lines may already be scheduled in certain ports on certain days...DCL may not have as much flexability as we may think. Just so wherever we go they have a dolphin encounter......or TiggersPal will have a stroke!

I wonder when the 5/27 double-dippers will be advised of their port changes? Or has that happened and I just haven't seen any threads/posts yet? Guess I'd better go look around.....

There seems to be more and more "unofficial" info coming out from various sources and I am referring mostly to the thread "Costa Maya and Cozumel....thought I woud pass this on"....or something like that. I know lots of other cruise ships are going to Cozumel, but from what I am understanding DCL has very little priority to get them back there, as they are docking there so infrequently and they haven't paid out the BIG bucks to support this area.

Grand Caymen's big deal is swimming with and feeding STINGRAYS! I hope she can adjust if we do, indeed, go there! :goodvibes

I know my kids did NOT like the Stingrays on Castaway Cay last Fall. DD thought they were "slimey". She was just too young to get over the "sting" part, I think. :confused3

Just did a little research. DCL has only officially advised people through the 3/25 cruise that they are not going to Cozumel. The people on the 4/6 cruise are anxiously awaiting official word from DCL. HOWEVER, cruisecal is showing DCL going to Costa Maya for the normal Western itinerary through May. Cruisecal shows the normal Western itinerary first showing up on Cozumel on 5/31/06.

Now I'm off to research Costa Maya dolphin stuff....figure that's the one port we'll know for sure about (as much as anything is for sure when Mother Nature is involved).

Chichihoney is right....we dealt with itinerary changes over Cozumel this past December and there was such an uproar over Nassau that they changed the itinerary again the morning we sailed so that we went to Costa Maya instead. Grand Cayman would be the obvious and easiest change and I wouldn't mind at all....we had a blast there and would love the kids to see it too.

You guys are all checking excursions....I haven't even started that. It seems like I just got done with them.....

Oh well....anywhere Disney is great so I'm just gonna sit back and relax! :thumbsup2

:cool1: OOOOOhhhh! Now I HOPE we go to Grand Caymen instead! Guess what I just found out!?

.....are you ready for this!?
Opening in May of 2006 is a fabulous new Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville right by the pier on Grand Caymen! :woohoo: :drinking1 complete with a big pool, swim up bar and water slide! :dancer: :rockband: :drinking: Take us there! Take us there! :hyper:

This one is supposed to be the grand daddy's of them all! I just read an article about it on crusie critic.

We went to the Orlando Margaritaville (Universal's City Walk) last November and had a blast! That was nothin' compared to the one they are building right on the beach with those great amenities!

Kaykels, are you listening? Wouldn't your kids love that? I know mine would! :hyper: ....after a day at the beach? :sunny:

Doesn't look like Grand Cayman has dolphin programs so I sure hope Cozumel is available by our cruise!!!!

Hi, I'm new to these boards. Anybody out there going from the Belleville, Illinois area?

No where near Illinois, but Welcome to the DIS! And, welcome to this group of double-dip cruisers!!!

(Hide your axes, everyone!)

Carolyn

:ssst: :ssst: :ssst: :ssst: SSSSHHHHHH! You shouldn't have even mentioned the axes! She/he will surely :moped: run now!

We cannot blow our cover! :smooth:

LIZA1965 welcome. There are a few people on here from Il, but do not know exactly where. Join on in, we are a fun bunch. :thumbsup2

Okay guys, I gonna say it. I hope they make us do an eastern instead. There I said it and now I feel better. :teeth:

Have a great weekend.

I am glad you feel better! But I don't! We just did the eastern and we are looking for something different!

I hope with time, it'll all work to our benefit. I really wouldn't want to be one of the first Double Dip cruises! I feel for those people! :scared:

I think it would be cool if they changed it to a modified Southern Caribbean itinerary (as long as we still get 2 trips to Castaway Cay!)
I'd love to do San Juan, or even something around St. Croix. More than likely by our cruise it will be Costa Maya and Cozumel, but a girl can dream can't she?
Sue Ellen

You are so right on, SueEllen......I am just a girl dreamin'....today, Feb, 18th, 2006. Just a girl dreamin'. :cloud9:

We have that right, don't we? :confused3

Let's just wait and see :thumbsup2 .......

Too early to tell....November is still a long way off.....

There is no pier in the Grand Caymans......you tender in from the ship.

Anywhere on the Magic pixiedust: is okay with me

That's right Pat....anywhere on the Magic is magical to me too..... :thumbsup2

The one thing I learned in December is that you can plan, plan, plan but Disney can always change....even right before you board the ship...so you really just need to have basic game plans and roll with the punches!!!
