November 11 & 12

Is there something special going on November 11th & 12th? I called to get a studio reservation for those two days and was told that all that was available was OKW and SS. I took OKW and they let me waitlist AKL....but I was just curious if I was missing something special that was happening then.

It's the last week of Food & Wine Festival, but I think the "problem" is that November 11 & 12 are less than 3 months away. It's not unusual to find limited availability when you get within 3 months of arrival. That's especially true for the smaller resorts.

I think that F&W also ends on the 8th along with Jersey week. We're going to be at WDW during that second week of Nov. and I've done a couple of changes. Those dates have had very sporadic availability for a long time. The 10th and 13th have been more open, the 11th now and then and the 12th not so much but that was looking at 1 & 2 BR's.

The 8th has been impossible for me...the 6th isn't much better. My only hope for not having to move halfway through my trip is that I get high up enough on the waitlist *and* more inventory is released for DVC.

Oh yes, the 8th was very difficult - very rare to call and find something available then. I wanted to switch to a VWL 2BR and went on a waitlist for the 8th. It did come thru the end of July after 4-5 weeks so don't give up hope!

Sounds like you're waiting for BLT? I originally had a 1BR MK view the 9-11th so I think I helped someone out back when I first switched to BWV 1BR. Later came VWL. That's why I'm so aware of inventory!!

Yes, I originally had a week in a 1br LV in December, but then my sister and I cooked up a plan to go for our birthday in November and I gave up my ressie I made the day BLT reservations opened. It's been about 6 weeks on the waitlist now...and today I realized that if my WL doesn't come through I'll have 75 points to bank. I was kind of hoping that as the 30-day mark got closer, some people would cancel to keep their points out of holding and my WL would go through. However, the 30 day mark for my trip is October 6th and I have to bank my points by September 30th. So I have to hope my WL comes through before then.

Me too! At least I hadn't waited for hours on the phone nor had I gotten up early to call. Still - it was hard to give up! But my mother said she'd go back to WDW again. And my nephew thought it might be nice too. So I said what the heck and invited my niece as well so if we all make it we'll have a nice group. If not.....well I won't have points to bank and we'll have lots of room to wander around in! We've been waiting to get our first trip to VWL and were going to move to a 1BR there for the second part of the trip so it's all still good. Now I'm waitlisted for a 2BR dedicated for the whole stay but I give that a 1 in 1000 shot of coming thru.

We are there the 8th til the 11th, and I booked at 11 months out to make sure to get availability at AKV.

That being said.....OKW is wonderful! You'll need to rely on the bus system, just like at AKV. The rooms are huge and the resort is beautiful.

Yes, you very well may have trouble depending on the resort and room type you are trying to book.

The NJ Teachers' convention is 11/4 & 11/5 next year, so your dates coincide exactly with "Jersey Week". There are many NJ families that will visit during that week, so you will have lots of competition to book the smaller resorts at 7 months, especially the EPCOT resorts.

1 bedroom at BLT (any view), WL as backup. Hopefully one of these will work out! Glad I stumbled across this!
